They took excellent care of our 18 year old cat who was dying so even if he could not be saved they made his passing more bearable

We have been taking our dog to VCA Southwest since we adopted her 4 years ago we are members of the care club and love everything about this location. The staff is very welcoming and the Veterinarians and their assistants are very attentive to everything we need for our dog. I would recommend this location and VCA to anyone. Thank you all for continuing to take care of us!

Excellent service! We're visiting from out of town, and my dog started to limp. I called multiple nearby vets, and VCA squeezed us in right away (whereas other vets said to take him to an emergency vet). Everyone was so friendly and caring. I thought my dog needed an X-ray or other tests; however, after the doctor did a thorough exam he said my dog’s leg was normal and that further testing such as x-rays were not recommended (saving us a lot of money!). He deduced that most likely a bug bit my dog’s paw and gave him a Benadryl injection. Within 15 minutes of the injection my dog bounced back to normal and has been totally fine ever since!

Everyone was super friendly with my cat. They took care of her so well and really seemed like they cared about her well being. Dr. Floyd also really handled her well without any problems. Overall the experience was great for me and my cat!

My 18 years old cat has gone to this grooming location for many years with no problem. I took my cat in for grooming last week. I got a phone call in the afternoon asking if it’s ok to use sedation. I have expressed my concern because of his age and my vet told me she’d not even do dental cleaning anymore because she’s worried his heart wouldn’t be able to handle it. I did not think about mentioning that my cat has kidney disease. The groomer assured me that she would only use light sedation. She didn’t ask me any other questions. My cat was very sedated that night and refused to eat. I called the VCA groomer/tech to let them know the next morning. I also mentioned his kidney function at that time. The technician said I should’ve told them but I thought for sure she would ask me if it would make a difference. I didn’t know it would matter because I am not the healthcare professional for cats. I felt like it was cruel to immediately place blame on the pet owner so she didn’t have to hold herself accountable. She offered to give my cat some subcutaneous fluid. The next day the VCA vet offered some appetite stimulant after learning about the situation. He assured me that it was light sedation and the drugs should be out of his system now. I took my cat back to his own vet after 5 day of not eating and moving. His vet gave him an anti-nausea medication and a different appetite stimulant. It’s been almost a week now and my cat is still not well. I am going to take my cat back to my vet today to discuss options. I hate myself for bringing my cat to grooming. I would like to post this so people are aware to give a detailed history even though it’s just grooming. I wish VCA hospital could learn from this experience and ask their pet owner for more information especially for elderly cats. Addendum: The veterinarians and the hospital manager have contacted me to address all my concerns. It was just unfortunate that my cat passed away on 4/17 due to the turns of event. I am grateful they answered all my questions. I could tell the vets care about their patients.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Dr. Brannen has retired. Now there is no one to keep the money hungry VCA in check. VCA, and especially this location, is only and all about money. The care of your pet isn't even on the radar. You're forewarned. For the love of your pet, run the other way, fast.

The team here really hit it out of the park for us - we had quite a confusing situation with a lot of coordination needed and not only were they extremely kind, caring and communicative, but extremely flexible and easy to work with, pouring in TONS of extra time to help us out. We were working on getting health certificates for a surrender case that was being coordinated through our rescue out of Seattle for transport, they were patient with us, answered all our questions and really went above and beyond to help the two pups we were getting treated. A giant shout out to Taylor and Dr. Lanrie for all your hard work and over abundance of patience with me and our team, we cannot thank you enough for being the type of caring animal advocates you are <3 100% would recommend.

What a wonderful experience I had here at this facility. I came for my puppy's 2nd vet visit for vaccines. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the receptionist, Meghan, with kindness and warmth. She directed me immediately to the patient room. I did have to wait about 30-35 mins to be seen but honestly, I didn't mind because the employees made up for it from their compassion and generosity. Tiffany, the tech was absolutely great with my puppy Leon, very affectionate and welcoming. She thoroughly explained everything and asked if I had any questions. Leon was seen by Veterinarian Dr. Rogge, he was very polite, experienced and informative, took his time to examine Leon. He was very patience and answered all of my questions efficiently. As we left, the receptionist Meghan apologized numerously for the wait time, I reassured her that it was fine and I understood they were busy. Overall, what a great experience we had here and will definitely be back!
