Towne North Animal Hospital San Antonio, Texas

As the Resort Manager of a large scale pet resort and spa, I want to make sure I give credit where it is due. From the very beginning when making my account and appointment to the check in/out process Sarah the receptionist was nothing less than friendly, inviting and very personable/relatable. I enjoyed every conversation as she was extremely friendly and sounded like she genuinely enjoys what she does. During my appointment the vet tech Katrina (I think that was her name) was also very friendly and super easy to talk to. She was very understanding of my pups anxiety/fear and tried everything she could to help us which I greatly appreciate. Overall very impressed with both staff members work ethic and they made my experience the best it could’ve been given my fearful pups behavior.

I had an appointment with Dr Naranjo to get an APHIS International Certificate, as she is an accredited USDA vet. She identified an issue with the paperwork I brought and did not want to sign the Certificate. That was her personal interpretation of the regulations and very frustrating to me, but acceptable and speaks well of her honesty. What was not acceptable was that she did not show up on the appointment, claiming to be with another Client, sent a colleague instead who had no idea on the issue and no authority to handle the situation and did not give me the chance to discuss her reasons face to face and try to solve the problem. Her poor performance did not allow me to get the Certificate on time so I will not be able to take my dogs for a flight. Very unprofessional from an accredited Vet. I expected more. She really disappointed me not showing up on a confirmed appointment. I won't ask for her services again, obviously.

They took care of baby and did a good job of helping me feel better that he was going to be ok. Great place

I started bringing one of my pups here last year. Now we have a new one, and started taking him yesterday! I love the bedside manner of all the staff!! I was able to go inside!! My oldest pup was still on paw plan contract at her old vet, and I can't go inside, but when it's over, I'll be bringing her here with her brothers. Thank you ????

I have over 30 years with Towne North. This visit was for a booster shot for my Annie which required only a tech visit with my favorite, Carlos. I couldn't ask for a better visit. I trust Carlos with all of my fur babies!

We are grateful to Towne North Animal Hospital for the excellent care they give our dogs. They are professional, knowledgeable, kind and responsive. The diagnoses and prescribed care are always right on target and they ensure the best outcome for our furry children and our family. We trust them implicitly.

We have been with Towne North for several years. We started with Dr. McIlhaney and seamlessly transitioned with Dr. Naranjo when he retired. We have always had a great experience with everyone we encounter from the front office staff, the Vet techs to the wonderful Veternarians! It is apparent that the staff cares about our pets and family. We have had a few scary emergencies and it has been a comfort knowing they are in the best of hands.

Towne North is hands down the best vet we've had. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Our 4-legged kids are worth it!

I don’t want to sound like I’m BARKing up the wrong tree, but this office is DOG-gone great! This is the PAW-fect place to have your dog treated, groomed or boarded! No BONES about it!! I think whoever owns this business needs to give every employee a good treat... like a raise or an extra week of paid vacation!!!

This is an extraordinary group of people who went way out of their way to help me out of a very difficult situation. I luckily happened to find them when I was trying to find boarding for my four fur babies on very short notice. I was astonished at the amazing level of customer service and willingness to accommodate. I was so impressed that I decided to immediately transfer the future care of my four kitties to these wonderful caring people.

This is an outstanding facility for the love and care of your pets. The staff is exceptional, and the interior is clean and well organized.

This place took notes from google’s advertising because they will try to hit you with every little thing they think you’ll pony up money for whether your pet needs it or not. They do their job but they are aaaall about money. Can’t wait to find a more ethically based practice

I needed someone to see my dogs ASAP and I take them to Banfield and they were i axle to see them for two weeks which didn’t work for me as my dog had a infection in her foot and also my other dog was coughing and Tibet were just laying around and sleeping and Towne animal got my pets in the next day and everyone is so friendly and took great care of my puppies !

I’ve been using Towne North for a few years and they never let me down. I have two ancient Chihuahuas with lots of health issues and the vets and staff always have a way to get them relief.

Dr. Naranjo is awful. I came in to have my dogs teeth checked because she has been chattering, and Dr Naranjo told me my dog could have either bad gingivitis or a tooth fracture and would need 2 canine teeth pulled....this was going to be a $1689.00 charge. She also charged me over $100 for meds I requested to order on chewy (they are cheaper there) and was just charged for the two prescriptions for my dog. I go to another vet to get a second opinion (being that my dog is only 2 years old and I’m in shock she needs teeth pulled already) and they tell me that nothing is wrong with her!! They were going to charge me almost 1,700 dollars for something that was not even needed. Dr. Naranjo is awful and they have just lost a 10 year client.

We have used TNAH for years. They’re a true team of professionals! The staff are exceptional with their service and provide you with such comfort knowing how important your fur babies are to your family, and to them. I know the Doctors here have your pets best interest at heart ♥️ always.

My baby was not feeling well so i called Towne North Animal Hospital. They responded asap and told me to bring my dog in. They were so friendly with him that they took him in with no problem. I was very happy with my dogs visit. He is doing so much better now. I recommend you bring your pet to this place.

This is a very friendly Vet. And boarding. They do keep all animals away from each other. Which I like. I would recommend this Vet.

Came in for a 6 month heartworm shot. When my dog was returned and j looked closely at bill, I was informed I was charged for an exam. An exam I was not informed of, nor did I give my consent for. Upon inquiry I was told, oh well we require a exam every 6 months. NEVER had I been told that. We have been coming here 3+ years. I had specifically inquired about the cost of my cost of my visit when I made the apt, so you can understand the frustration. Then to find out there is also a shot for 12 months, how convenient to leave that out that info at the last appointment. **Watch your receipt, be warned** Had been coming due to easy location, it's not been a favorite lately. Seems like customer service has bombed and it's all about the money. Next year we will go somewhere else. Never even seen the same person for very long there either, go figure.

The staff is as usual the best. My issue is with the vet, Dr. Lewis. I wont be using her in the future.
