THRIVE Affordable Vet Care - SE Military San Antonio, Texas

We started taking our new puppy here and we have been blown away by the staff and how well they take care of our baby. They are so nice, and keep us updated with everything dealing with our puppy. We will never stop taking our puppies here.

Not affordable they charge the same price as petco

I love Thrive and have taken all 4 of my pets and one rescue to this location and the locations in Round Rock. However, I will say that during my most recent visit Dr. Smith was very condescending and showed no compassion to my elder dog who struggles to feel comfortable at the vet for her nail trims and other services. If it wasn’t for the amazing vet techs who assured me that I was assisting the best way possible I think I would have considered changing vets. I hope Dr. Smith will think more about her bed side manners and how her tone and ridicule impact clients.

I have called them two separate times already to ask if they could sent my pets vaccinations records. Both times they have told me that they had sent it and I should receive in 2 to 5 minutes. Both times I never got it. I needed to go to the office to get them.

Check-in process went smooth and the staff was very professional. My dog was very receptive to the new faces/staff which made me very happy. Thanks for the exceptional experience. ????

Could not be more disappointed with this vet office. Long story short spoke to call center on Sun who spoke to the vet for permission to bring in small dog with what appears to be an upper respiratory illness. The vet said they would work him in, come quickly. When we get there my husband went in while I stayed with dog in the car to prevent any possible illness spread. The receptionist turned my husband away! I went in, explained and receptionist said she talked to vet so yes he gave permission but we were describing illness so maybe the dog needed more care than they could give. I was like "what are you talking about?!". She was putting words in my mouth and cont'd to deny the appt the vet approved. A tech came by, I included her and long story short AFTER THE VET TOLD CALL CENTER TO TELL ME TO BRING OUR DIG IN HE/SHE TURNED US AWAY! It was ridiculous, unprofessional, rude and my poor small dog with asthma went home without antibiotics or anything. They offered an afternoon apt the next day! So much ill will was created I will never take my pet back to PetSmart Thrive Clinics and suggest you think twice!!

Staff is awesome. Veterinarian was awesome! We brought both my mothers cat and brothers dog to be cared for.

Went for a check up for my 4 month old kitten and 6 year old cat. Immediately when we arrived, we were greeted by Michael, he was very polite, attentive and positive. Then after a short wait, we were seen by the tech, Brittany who was also very good at her job. Told what was needed quickly and efficiently. Saw Dr. Emshoff, who provided awesome service and made my cat and kitten very comfortable. Service like this is what people strive to get and we appreciate the pleasant experience and good quality work!

Dr. Sczepanik is great and professional! My dog has environmental allergies and she is very knowledgeable about pet allergies. My dog was seen by another Thrive veterinarian initially for allergies, but my dogs care had to be transferred to Dr. Sczepanik and she was very quick to get in contact with me to establish care!

The staff was outstanding and compassionate. They treated both Blondie and I with the utmost respect. I will never forget their kindness. Thank you to Charli and staff????

My Piper is my everything. She is more than just a dog, she is my family. Which is why We are so thankful to Thrive for always taking great care of her. They are sweet, kind and so gentle with Piper. Dr. Smith even saved Piper’s life we were first adopted her. I am so grateful to the wonderful staff at Thrive for all the attention and love they give Piper. Their services are also affordable which if so helpful with what is going on with the pandemic.

Well, they deleted my review, so i’ll leave yet another one. I booked an appointment at 2 o’clock on 9/21 and had even arrived inside the facility at 1:45. They get me into a room fairly quickly, but that was all. I literally sat in the room for over an hour with not one single person coming to check in on us nor telling us it will be a wait. They even ended up helping the people next to me first, who had got there AFTER me. Even when I was walking out with my dog, they didn’t bother to help. I’m not sure if it was because the color of my skin, but they were definitely more attentive to other individuals.

Always friendly staff and vets here. Always have a great visit. Thank u

100% recommend THRIVE! It was my first time here and came in as walk in and they took me in immediately. Dr Sczepanik is absolutely amazing, super kind, and could tell how much she loves her job, takes the time to explain everything to you and makes sure she answers all your questions. The staff is so friendly and was just amazed at how affordable this clinic is. I will continue to come here to for all my pet's vet needs!!

We were very happy with Thrive for getting our puppy’s shots and keeping her up to date. The prices were always reasonable and I never felt like they offered something unnecessary or were after my money. I started the Thrive Plus membership that you pay for to help cover some of the costs for puppy shots. I moved out of state just after the 6 month mark and called to cancel my membership. The person working emailed me my pup’s records and was amazing and said he canceled the membership, but then three months later I noticed I was still being charged. I emailed Thrive directly and they did indeed refund me for all three months, which I was surprised and grateful for, but I just do recommend double checking that your account actually gets cancelled. Thank you, Thrive, for taking care of my puppy. ????

The staff here made me feel so comfortable. They treated my dog with care and affection, ot like a piece of meat, like some other vets. They are wonderful! We will be back!

Thank you to the doctor at this VET. They may have saved my dog from a short life of misery. My last vet clinic prescribed Simparica flea and tick for my dog, as they do for pets now. My dog has had severe side affects from this medication such a seizures, itchy, lethargic and more.

EXCEPTIONAL. Their prices will literally shock you, I’ve been to many vets prior and the final bill would always hurt so badly. But NOT HERE. Our final bill after a dental surgery for our 13 year old Chihuahua turned out to be half of the original low estimate. We signed her up for the membership and every visit we pay peanuts. I highly recommend the membership for any puppies or dogs requiring regular vet visits. It’s not just the prices that would blow you away. The people working here are the friendliest!! They show so much concern to our little chihuahua. They give her love and affection, talk cute to her before even getting close and touching her. Something that most vets I’ve visited don’t even bother with. There are no dumb or stupid questions, the technicians and vet will answer every concern you have. The people working here deserve every ounce of credit and appreciation due. THANK YOU ALL!! And keep up the amazing work y’all do ???????????????? PS. Even her post-medication paper bag had a little ❤️ by her name. How cute!!!

This was my first visit to this vet. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly receptionist!! The place was clean and everyone I interacted with was great and answered all my questions.

Dr. Smith and Vet Tech Amanda were simply amazing! They took good care of my Peanut. They are gentle and answered all my questions. I will continue to come here to for all my pet's vet needs!!

Booked an appointment 2 WEEKS AGO called them since we were running a few min late (was outside by 12:02) lady had no record of our appointment. Ridiculous because we received a confirmation email and replied YES that we would be there the day before. Told us that our spot had been given away, and that we would have to reschedule for another time.

I was hesitant to come here at first because I have been going to the same Vet for a long time. I made the trip here based on a recommendation from my neighbor. My appointment was at 4, and I was taken in early and was out in 30 min.!! I thought that was great! Dr. Emshoff talked to me over the phone and my dogs diagnosis was simple (seasonal allergies). Even though it was over the phone, I didn’t feel rushed at all. My concerns and questions were answered. My dog received a shot for allergies, rabies, as well as an exam visit. I was worried about the final bill but I was extremely shocked at how low it was!! I will definitely be returning here.
