Dr. Mac is the best vet in Texas, hands down! He is extremely knowledgeable and has years of experience that translates into the best care I could ever hope for my fur babies. He has performed surgeries on my 2 dogs with amazing outcomes for both even though one was a high risk operation. His office is spotless and cheerful and feels like home. Sam, Genevee, Linda and the rest of his staff are sweet and caring and genuinely love animals! I would never even consider going anywhere else for my pet care needs. I love love love El Dorado Animal Hospital!

Words can not express how much I love Dr.Mac and his team. They have always gone above and beyond for my fur family. Whenever I needed a call back I received it. To top it off Dr.Mac would call on the weekend to see how my cat was doing after his amputation. We recently moved and I am heartbroken I lost the best vet I have ever had.

I called many other places and no other place gave me the answer I was looking for. Instead they would ask me to come in for a consultation or tell me to contact the food companies directly. They would just keep beating around the bush when they saw that I wasn't going to pay for a visit for such an easy question. Luckily, Samantha answered my call and she told me what I should and shouldn't do when it came to feeding certain foods to my dogs. She was quick, responsive, and very professional. This is the type of customer service that deserves 5* ratings and higher.

Dr Mac and his staff are absolutely wonderful!!! I've been going there for years and have always received the best care for my babies. They are all very professional and very knowledgeable. They help you through the best of times and worst of times with your animals and do it with compassion for you and your baby.

Unfortunately I am at the point at which I feel forced to write this bad review. We have brought our dog to Dr.Mac for years now. Our family has been with this vet for as long as we can remember. Sadly our dog had developed bumps all over her body, which we worried could be tumors. We brought her in for a check up, and were told that she would probably need surgery for the removal of the bumps. The first surgery was about 1500 dollars. Our sweet dog was on the road to recovery projected to take weeks/months. 2 days after the surgery we were checking the wounds and found 3 of the tumors that we had the surgery for, which were NOT removed.... After pointing this out to Dr.Mac he never gave us an explanation, and we reluctantly agreed to a SECOND SURGERY which we also had to PAY FOR!? This is only one of several situations in which this vet clinic has taken advantage of the love for our pets and the lengths we will go through to keep them healthy. We are now at a different vet that is MUCH mor affordable for the SAME services!

OMG. Staff is fantastic. Doc Mac really cares about you and your pets. You feel like family. Wish he took birds..(own 2 MaCaws) but for cats & dogs I wouldn't go anywhere else.

They always do a great job with my pets. My mother has been going here for decades and Dr. Mac has seen her through numerous dogs and cats. He takes excellent care of them, but also forms a relationship with the owners. I've never been there for more than a couple if minutes with being offered a drink by hi.or o e of the staff. When we first moved back to the area a few years ago we had an older dog with health issues. He did great to give us a little more time with her and when it was time to let her go was incredibly supportive throughout the process and even made a donation to research for pet health in her name. I'm sure you can find a cheaper bet, but I doubt you'd find a better support and care team for cheaper or pricier vets. Until he retires there is no other vet I'd want to go to.

Dr. McIntosh and his staff provide a level of expertise and knowledge that is above and beyond what I have experienced with other local animal hospitals. Whether your pet is in need of a basic service such as a nail trim or vaccination, or something more complex such as surgery, El Dorado Animal Hospital provides exceptional service with fair and reasonable pricing. The staff is super friendly, very professional and this is truly a comfort knowing my furry little beasts are in such good hands. Highly recommend!

I loved the care provided here. Polite, patient and professional! My pets received excellent care, and the coupons for first time patients made this first visit extremely affordable. I have two more pets at home who would surely enjoy their annual checkups here!

Worst clinic. I am a first time pet parent as I also informed the staff. However, they withheld that the price match medication. I paid for my dogs Brevecta almost 80$ and When I found it online cheaper(only the next day) the lady over the phone stated she could issue me a credit for next service which I was fine with. She put me on hold then completely changed her mind and stated there was nothing she could do but yes they do in fact price match.. they are unproffessional and decieving especially for a first time visitor! I for sure won't be returning nor reccomending this clinic. I had to pretty much ask all the questions about the medication amongst other new pet owner questions they did not bother to help inform me or anything.

Terrible, overcharged, neglectful service . As mentioned in a previous review, that doctor is a thief and will overcharge you for unnecessary services. They offer free examinations for first time clients to lure you in, but will scam you of your money to make up for it. The only problem my dog had was fleas and an ear infection. First, he charged me for a small shave down and medication (without my permission) for an "infection" that i know for a fact was not infected because his scratch only happened a day before and was cleaned thoroughly. The nurse also told me that it wasn't infected before the doctor interrupted her to tell me that it was only to charge me for extra fees. Second, he told me to first take my dog to a groomer to get his ears plucked before administering medication for his ear infection. After going to two groomers, they both refused to pluck and clean his ears because he had an ear infection and informed me that it was THE VET'S responsibility to take care of that if it is infected. When i called the vet office and told them what had happened, his excuse for not plucking his hair was because "there was too much hair", but he would be able to pluck it if they sedate my dog because it had been so long since he had that infection. Are you kidding me? You want to charge me MORE money to sedate my dog because you didn't do your job in the first place? Because it was "Too much hair"? You're a DOCTOR and that is the best excuse you can come up with? Along with that, there is only a few strands of hair. To make a ridiculous excuse for his laziness and then charge his clients money for not doing his job-this is the absolute worst vet clinic i have ever been to. I was charged over $200 dollars for services that was not in my permission or needed. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Last Tuesday I took Tali to the El Dorado Animal Hospital where the doctor palpitated her and found nothing. She was barely moving, wouldn't eat, and wouldn't talk back to us. If you had the pleasure of meeting that fireball, then you would have immediately realized that something was wrong. So, even though she was extremely lethargic and could barely move the doc over at El Dorado "had" to sedate her because according to him she couldn't be handled. I was like "okay just figure out what is wrong with her please". A few hours later he called to tell me that she was dehydrated and could possibly have a virus, so he gave her an antibiotic. So I took her home. I kept her in another room away from the other two Kitty's just in case (idk I was paranoid she could give whatever she had to the others). She had food, water, and a litter box in the room. The next day I went to check up on her and noticed she hadn't eaten. She vomited and urinated, but no bowel movement. I called the vet and told him. He said it could take a little while for the meds to kick in and to just give her time. So I waited another day (now Thursday). That day Brad took her back in. The doc ran some more tests and palpitated her again, and yet found NOTHING. He did a feline AIDS and leukemia test that also came back negative. Brad suggested that maybe she ate something and to get an x-ray. The doc said that wasn't necessary, so we didn't. Brad told him that I found a small piece of glass around their food bowls (we don't know what it's from) and he asked the doc if it was possible that she may have ingested a small piece. Again, the doc suggested that it wasn't possible because her mouth and gums looked fine. So he took her home, at this point we are $1,000 in Tali vet bills. Friday came and no change. Saturday past and NO CHANGE except she projectile vomited when we tried to feed her with a syringe. Saturday, last night I called several different vets to try and get a second opinion. I was told to bring her in to get a better estimate. This morning (Sunday) comes and I notice no change, so I took Tali to take her to a vet that was recommended by a few friends. (And they were truly amazing!). Not even 5 minutes into the appointment this new doc found an obstruction in her intestine. 5 MINUTES!! THATS ALL IT TOOK for this new doctor to find what was wrong. She told us that Tali was going to need an x-ray and surgery. I already maxed out my Care Credit card from her previous appointments, so Brad applied, was approved and we told them we wanted the surgery. The doctor made it very clear that things can go wrong, so we should create a cap on how much we can afford. I can not tell you how much I appreciate her honesty. She said she couldn't do the surgery at that facility, but recommended another doctor that she trusted for us to go with, and they could get us in immediately. This vet that we grew to love really fast had Tali set aside with a blanket and fluids to try and make her feel better. They told us that she was not in good shape but that surgery was her best option. They gave us a bag a fluids and had all the IV's still attached to her when they loaded her up in the pink carrier we got her a while back. They told us to get her to the hospital they recommend immediately. Tali was critical, but we all thought she would make it. When we got to the vet hospital and as we were checking in she stared breathing extremely fast. They took her from us right away. They asked us if her heart were to stop if they could perform CPR. We hesitated, but said yes. Brad and I sat in the private exam room hearing loud beeps, fast beeps, slow beeps, then one long beep. Minutes later they came in and told us that she didn't make it. Brad and I lost it! We thought we got her there in time. We thought we could bring our fireball Tali girl home. We were so wrong. Tali will forever be apart of our family and a huge spot in our hearts will never be filled. We love you so much Tali girl. I hope you have fun on that rainbow bridge.
