I’ve taken my cat there twice now for after hour care and they are very quick and efficient. The first time I was there when I was in PA school the doctor took me back and showed me my cats chest X-ray and explained it. They have a very friendly staff. Highly recommend for your pets urgent care needs!

Emergency rooms always have long wait times. Angel of Mercy was communicative, personable, and professional. Price was a lot lower than expected and their office visit is one of the lowest prices in town for emergency vet clinics (I called about 5 others in the SA area before I came here). Accepts ScratchPay. Will come again if needed in the future.

I just wanted to share this. I had to put my 18 1/2 year old cat down on Christmas day. My regular vet was closed. I decided to use Angel of Mercy from our vet list. They were so compassionate and caring. I didn’t have to wait long. It was curbside service. It also cost only $139. I’m adding this because I thought being an emergency vet, it was going to be really expensive. This price included the vet exam, euthanasia, and a burial box which they put her in. They also drew a colorful rainbow where her head was. We took Genevieve home and buried her in our greenbelt. Today I received a very nice condolence card from Angel of Mercy. With all the bad customer service going around, it is so nice to see that there is a business that truly cares.

My heartfelt thank you to everyone, from the lovely empathetic lady who anwered my call immediately on a Saturday to the compassionate staff when I arrived with a stray who was barely breathing when I brought her in knowing she was not likely going to make it.It was a very sad day made better by everyone there.

I took my 7 year old PitBull in because he was very sick, the vet tech came out to get him and said she couldn’t carry him and she didn’t want to get the Gurnee to take him in so we had to help him inside. But when someone brought their, just as big, German Shepherd in she carried him inside. I was told he had bladder stones and needed surgery. When I asked what the next step was the Vet laughed while saying “write me a fat check and we’ll get started”. We were not able to financially go through with the surgery so our other option was to euthanize him. At this point without any testing done on him and just based off looking at him and his symptoms I chose to take him home and wait to see our local vet for a second opinion. The vet carried him just enough to get out the door and placed him on the sidewalk for us to get him, took the blanket he used to carry him inside with him. This place was our only option at the time being it was the weekend and no one else was open or too full. They did nothing for him. No offer of pain meds at least. I decided to take him to another vet that following Monday and Without any money up front or commitments they ran tests on him and found out he had cancer. They even sent him home with a blanket. I now wonder how my baby was treated while he was in there. I will never step foot near this facility again.

As a vet tech of several years I am appalled at the fact that a clinic that prides itself in compassion refuses to let owners (who are fully vaccinated) be with their pet during their last moments on earth. Absolutely disgusting.

I never thought I would have to come to the emergency room for my pet. But Animal Critical Care had me and my pets back. We understand it's a busy place, but the receptionist, Mary I think? Was very kind. Thank you for helping my little buddy.

Just called at 3:50 am because our family cat as a severe medical issue and this place was recommended by a family member. A gentleman answered the phone and ask how may I help, I simply asked for some info and if he can HELP ME OUT. He took a deep breath and said. “ well what’s your question sir I’m in the middle of an exam” I told him I will call somewhere else that would care about a pet I would never want our pet to be seen by someone with such a rude tone. If you don’t want to help people and their loved ones please feel free to find a different practice. I will be calling management and posting this review everywhere.

My old furry baby boy had an allergic reaction to a bee sting yesterday. Thought I was going to lose him. I really am thankful for Dr. Ridder, Carlos, and Faith for their compassion and caring for my boy. The night receptionist was horrible, in my opinion, and needs to learn empathy and manners in how to communicate with people in emergency situations. Thank you all for taking care of my boy.

DO NOT COME HERE! Horrible experience seriously the most unprofessional and most rude place. I called at first asking for information and was told I could go I get there and let them know why I'm there and was turned away for a my dog having back pain. (Mary) or who ever was answering the phone was so rude, unprofessional, and definitely should not be working in a place like this dealing with people. If they treat people like that imagine how they treat your pets. I went somewhere else and was treated way better by amazing people who were willing to see my poor dog. Go to becker hospital they actually care!

Last night we noticed my dog acting off, we called every emergency vet in our city and everyone was full. So we packed up and made the near hour trip to Angel of Mercy. And I’m glad that we made that decision. Unfortunately Smiles didn’t make it through, at no fault of the team though- they took her back immediately and did everything they could while keeping us informed at every step along the way but it was just her time. The staff was so patient and kind as I absolutely broke down in front of them. The tech who worked with us, Faith, was also beyond measure. She sat and cried with us, reassured us that smiles was comfortable and passing in dignity. Last night was arguably one of the worst nights of my life but the amazing care and support I received here during this time is a bright point within the situation. As much as I pray I never need an emergency vet again I will absolutely remember the care we received here if I ever do need one.

On several occasions and for several pets I was given respect and the finest care. The staff is exceptional and they know your pain, let alone the distress your loved pet may be going through. It has been years and you may now have to wait for the best now but they care for everyone and all walks! TY!!

Waited over 3 hours for information on our dog. Was told we couldn't leave the premises the entire time, so we sat in the parking lot, twiddling our thumbs waiting for information. Finally, after being told twice that the doctor would "call us very shortly", we got word that almost nothing was wrong, just a minor sickness. We were so absolutely excited until we heard the price tag. $1,200. For a place that offers "military discount" and claims to help pets in the best way possible, it's a little unbelievable in what should have been a short trip ended up being an entire evening and over a thousand dollars out of our pocket. Have a soul, Angel Of Mercy.

I have to say this place is amazing!!! Ms Lynn is the receptionist who answered at 4am ( God bless her) to a frantic, full blown crying me. She not only calms me down but was so patient and helpful. They gave me an estimate WITH options. I couldn’t be happier with them!

I brought my French bull dog here at the mercy of the clinic on a Sunday morning. My dog was in labor before coming I called and asked if I could bring her here since she had been in labor for 4 hours. To get here and be told it was not critical or an emergency situation. Got Asked if there was any puppies stuck then it would be critical. I was so upset and scared for my dog. I snapped back right away asking if she needed me to wait until it was critical enough for her guidelines she then when back and spoke to the doctor. Made me wait about 30 minutes then finally took my dog. To tell me that she is fine they will run test and do surgery once payment is completed. After paying an over price payment told to go home and pick her up at 7:30am. No calls or anything time goes on it’s 3pm take in mind I dropped her off around 11am. Finally I called again around 5pm to ask how to delivery went to be told all the puppies had died. I understand this happens but all the puppies were stuck and deformed for the prolonging the surgery! Then to get a call 10 minutes to 10pm to come pick up my dog. This place is unbelievable and I will never bring my business or my dogs here again. !

Last night I took my cat in with a minor emergency - a small infected wound, but it was obvious she was not feeling well. My regular vet is so busy they almost won’t answer the phone and are not taking appointments of any kind, and referred me to Angel of Mercy Animal Critical Care. I found every interaction with the Angel staff - reception, vet assistant, and the Vet herself, to be extremely pleasant. They were upfront about the wait time, they advised me of the procedure and the cost prior to doing the work, and were clear about her follow-up care. Most Vet offices seem to be completely overwhelmed right now and are still following Covid procedures to some degree and curbside vet care is awkward everywhere. I made my cat as comfortable as possible and was prepared for a long wait. The wait + care at Angel did not take nearly as long as the originally quoted. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend Angel of Mercy Animal Critical Care.

So, last night my mother took our sick 17 year old black cat to this vet. This place tramatised him. He won't come out of a room, won't meow, and very slightly purrs. They also drugged him up so that his eyes are huge. He's acting very paranoid and won't let us touch his stomach area.

Miserable folks that work night shift so they have to be rude to their customers. I feel sorry for them

I don’t usually write reviews but I recommend this clinic to anyone with a furry family member in crisis. Last week when my sweet girl was having difficulties with delivering her kittens and I couldn’t find any vet to help her, this clinic was only place that took her in. Not only were they able to help her, they were able to make things work with our budget, they didn’t have to but they did. I’ll never forget the hope these people gave me and when I thought I was out of options. Thank you, Dr. Ritter, for saving my Momo’s life.

Take your animals anywhere but here. They focus so much on getting payment from you they mess up on there end. They didn't add the pawprint to there order for cremation. I paid them for, it was on my receipt from them. But they didn't send it to there people that do the cremation for them. The person who answers the phone the first time was super nice and apologetic. The office manager or whoever called to resolve the matter could give a hoot about the situation. Just kept asking me how I wanted my $20 refund. We were broken by the loss of our Duke and they made it worse. I would avoid at all costs.

I had to bring my cat here recently later at night for a ruptured abscess when other emergency vets wouldn't take her. They gave me a fairly accurate estimate of wait time and my case wasn't critical so I understood life-or-death cases being run in before mine. The receptionist was kind and the vet tech/vet were extremely lovely, gave me a concise rundown of the problem, what they were going to do, how long it could take, and a rough $$ estimate (the cost was very fair). I received all of the notes on her care, detailed instructions for her aftercare, and felt she was well cared for during her procedure. I will come back for any future emergencies. Thank you!

If I could give negative stars, I would. This place was the WORST vet experience I’ve ever had. I visited this clinic last night with my dog, who had a horrible open wound. I was told she was not critical, so that she was next in line, the wait time was about 1-2 hours. There was no issue with waiting, although 2 hours passed and still no acknowledgment from staff. I then call to see what the time frame was, and the receptionist notified me a life-threatening issue came up and that pet needed to be seen first. Me being a pet owner, I completely understood and continued to wait longer. After about 3 hours of waiting, I was then called by staff and told I was to meet them at the door to hand my pet over to be examined. I told the staff member my dog does get anxious and reacts, so it would be wise to bring a mussel just in case. Although upon initial arrival, I informed the receptionist of my Pet’s behavior around new individuals, and she stated she understood and her pet reacts the same. Once the staff member named “CARLOS” met me outside, he handed me the mussel to put on my dog, and she was ready to go. He tried guiding her inside, although she was pushing back. I offered to walk her inside, and he quickly told me, “ma’am, we can not let you inside.” He then attempted to pick her up where she then panicked and ran to me. I didn’t understand if he was just not thinking, but my dog had an open wound on the side he attempted to pick her up from. She was in a lot of pain, and like any animal in pain, of course, they would react. He then informed me there was nothing they could do for me because of her behavior. He then proceeded to label her as aggressive. I continued to ask him, “ okay, so what should I do?” He then responds, “well, we can’t do anything here... a scared dog is a dangerous dog... if you take her anywhere else, they won’t help because of how she acts..” Giving me no helpful information. He offered a cone to keep her from messing with the wound. I accepted and waited in my car for further assistance. 20 minutes passed, and still no acknowledgment. I call again, and the receptionist passed the phone to Carlos, where he begins rudely talking to me. I asked him if he talks to all his customers that way, and he responded, “any that give me beef, yea!” He was completely unprofessional, and when I asked for his supervisor, he responded, “I am the supervisor!”.... more words were exchanged, and I left with my pet having no treatment or help... I would never take a pet here.

Gave us everything we needed to make sure our dog was in top shape. They were kind, our dog gets anxiety visiting the vet but they were patient with him. They didn’t muzzle him to add to his stress. Gave us plenty of medication for his ear infection and upset stomach. They gave us advice which we truly appreciate.

Whoever answered the phone Tuesday morning on 6/8/2021. Really needS to work on their tone and empathy. The lady was rude and telling me my dog was gonna die (he was being treated at another hospital, while we were trying to find something affordable to save him) she kept saying he was gonna die and he needs the surgery, etc. but they were closing so they couldn’t do it. I get that people have a long night and businesses have to follow their hours, but there was no need for her to be so mean. Lucky we did get our Pups surgery and he’s doing well, definitely not going to call this place ever again

This is my first ever review but I was just so dissatisfied with my experience that I had to share it. This was my third time coming here with a pet unfortunately. I have always had such great experiences but This day that I chose to bring my grandmothers kitten for her, (cause she was at work and I had just gotten off) I received nothing but rudeness, From the receptionist, to assistant to the doctor. Because of covid I haven’t been here in a while so these were all new faces. I understand that this was probably a busy day, but there’s no excuse for the unprofessionalism. After waiting for some time, The assistant I spoke to on the phone was trying to talk me out of being seen just because I wrote on the paperwork as extra information that my grandmother’s kitten will be having a vet appointment tomorrow( it’s a brand new kitten whom was found so we wanted to find out more about it). She told me if I wanted to wait to see the normal vet as it would be more cheaper and everything that they would do on the kitten would be the same exact thing the vet would do, except here it would be much more expensive. She said it would be up to me if I still wanted the kitten seen. I didn’t appreciate this because if I felt the kitten was okay, I of course would have taken it to the vet. No pet owner should have to be asked if they really want to be seen considering they are rushing their pet to get immediate help for their condition. The assistant asked me questions about the kitten however I couldn’t answer all of them because I was bringing it in for my grandmother. She got frustrated with me and said for me to get ahold of my grandmother so I did. to top it off when the doctor called and gave me some insight , he asked if I wanted to hospitalize the kitten due to its condition, I asked if there was anyway I can get my grandmother on the phone and he replied with “I am busy, I can only talk to one customer at a time” and then told me to get my grandmother to call the clinic. I just don’t believe these people know what us pet owners are going through because if they did they would sympathize with us and not make us feel terrible. I truly hope this staff get better customer service. I don’t know if I will ever come back but i would hope my review will be looked at and there will be some changes.

We have unfortunately had to bring our pets in for medical care. However, each and every visit regardless of the outcome the veterinarian (Babbitt) and staff have been extremely caring and supportive! We are grateful they are in our community .

My elderly parents sat and waited for 3 hrs to be seen. Their dog was poisoned (they live on a ranch where it is common for ranchers to poison dogs). My mother informed vet of this and they continued to say that she consumed something like “CBD oil”. They gave her two shots and sent her on her way. $300 for treatment my mother knew wasn’t going to work. My parents can’t even afford to buy food, much less pay for a vet. They can’t even afford pets (the dog is my nephew’s who was recently orphaned). They took advantage of my mother’s kindness and trust, and completely ignored what my mother had to say. They just wanted to get them in and out. The treatment they provided was unnecessary and expensive. She’s now sitting here having seizures and they can’t even take her to another vet to pay for proper treatment. Called to complain and was promised a callback. Of course, they never returned our calls.
