JD Kennels Camp David for Dogs and Cats Royse City, Texas

JD Kennels has been a wonder to my family and myself when it comes to boarding my dog or just having him there for daycare! The staff is amazing and they treat everyone like family!

Our dog is happy to arrive and the staff is always friendly and happy to see him.

We had our dogs here for 8 days. They were vaccinated before their stay. Dogs came home with sneezing fit and hacking and became very lethargic. Took almost a month to recover. They were not sick before their stay.

Unorganized staff and rude condescending owner. Country Friends Veterinary Clinic up the street is friendly and costs less. Had a great experience there. My 2 two dogs stayed there for 5 days and came back home happy and healthy.

Highly recommend! They always take care of my fur baby like their own. My fur baby always comes back happy, with a fresh bath on her last day, and cookies every night. Also, they provide a lot of play time with the day care dogs as well, so she is not sitting in a cage all day.

I love JD. I wish they would board me. My dog Ayla loves the staff and they love her right back. They seem to make a real effort to know you and your dog personally and they take such good care of her while I’m away. I hate leaving her at all, but leaving her at JD puts my mind at ease and it is one less thing to worry about when traveling. I have never had one issue with their services and I find they completely out of step with other kennels that just left my baby on a cage all day. Thanks so much JD for being part of our furfamily.

Poor communication. Requested and was reassured that they can send pics everyday they stay. Nothing, even after making several requests. Picked up our 4 dogs and all 4 got sick with bronchitis (requested that all 4 stay together with no other dog interactions because they don’t play well with others). Called the owner, left a VM and text. No response. I do not recommend.

On the fence with this place. My dog went in and was supposed to get washed and brushed out. He didn't seem to had been combed out, he immediately started shedding. Unlike when I do it myself. Also he came out kinda slow to act and he urinated a bright bright almost florescent yellow. I asked and was told he ran outside 6 times. My dog hates being out, he's a very hairy cold loving dog. I was also told that he ate regular high protein food but don't know what. I guess the worst is that the attitude of the girls was "on and off" depending on stress I guess. Oh almost forgot. They have a training program but your dog has to spend the night even if you live next door. This means you pay approx 300 for the training and another 300 for the boarding. Actually a bit more but, that didn't seem right to me. Almost 700 to train the dog? I think it's for a week. I'm not being exact on the price but close.

I just love the JD family and so do my pups. They are always so well taken care of and I really feel like the employees treat them as if they were their own. My dogs are always glad to see me, but also sad to say bye to their buddies at JD when I get home from my business trips. We have never had a single issue with care, the prices are more than reasonable, and if I call for an update they know my dogs by heart and can tell what they have been up to that day. If I could give them six stars I would. Thanks JD! Can you please start boarding husbands? I will pay triple!

Love me some JD! They take such good care of my fur babies even though one is still a little rambunctious and high energy (great dane puppy). JD is not the closest facility to my house but I drive them out there when I have vacation because I know they will get great care. THe staff are such sweethearts and you can tell they love dogs. They know my name and my dogs' names by heart and are always so happy to see them. We have never had an issue with care and my dogs are safe and happy when I get home. I can't recommend them enough!

We boarded our dog, Dragon, with JD Kennels for the last 6 days and we were so pleased with the service and care we received! He's a bit of an anxious pup and the staff were so kind in telling us how he did and how they had taken turns sitting with him to help him adjust to kennel life for the week he was there. We're so thankful to JD Kennels for taking good care of our little one!

They did not come thru what they promised to do, which was to send pictures of our dog everyday he was there. Which was one of the reasons why we picked this kennel. And not responding to our request several calls in.

Very pleasant experience here! We came in from out of town and they stayed late to be sure we were taken care of when our ROVER booking fell through. Devon helped us feel right at home and we instantly knew our pup would be safe throughout her stay. We will be booking with JD when visiting the area from here forward.

We have been using them for years from our 22-year-old cat to our current 13 year old mixed breed dog with massive separation anxiety, special dietary needs and allergies. They have risen to the occasion each and every time regardless of if it is for a day or 2 weeks (longest we have been gone). Definitely recommend.

We love JD Kennel! More importantly, so does our dog, who jumps eagerly into the van every time she is picked up. The staff are caring, know the animals by name, and understand the personalities of their regular guests. They observe the animals' behavior and report any irregularities or health problems. The dogs are let out three times per day, weather allowing, and they seem to thrive there.

There are kennels closer to us but I am happy to go the extra distance to use JD Kennels. They are fantastic. Our pups are always well taken care of and the facilities are wonderful.

I and my husband took our dog, (her name is mocha) over here on saturday, January 2,2021 about 4.30 pm and met Donna Sharpe, She said she would give free bath for Mocha before we picked her up. But didn't happened. When we left our dog there, my dog was fine but since we picked up our dog on january 11, our dog keep diarrhea and bloody stool. I don't know what happened there, this pet boarding didn't tell me or report to us. On Sunday January 17, 2021 at 5pm Finally we took our dog Mocha to ER, Urgent pet @ Rockwall. We had very bad experience leaving our dog over here for 9 night 10 days. This pet boarding don't have responsible to the dog they take care, and this place is horrible, their kennel's are cinder block and the floor is concrete., ugly kennel. I won't taking back my dog to this horrible place no more!!!. Wish we had read the review but we were rush to find the place or we wouldn't left her here. We wouldn't recommend this place at all.

While my dogs seem to be well cared for, I definitely wouldn't recommend JD Kennels! When I dropped my dogs off, I was informed by the staff at JD Kennels that the days run 11am - 11am. If I don't pick up my dog before 11, I would be charged another day. I asked how that works on Saturdays since they don't open until 1pm. I was informed that I would be charged a day for the time between 11am and 1pm. This is obviously an issue since you can't physically get your dog at 11am because they aren't open! The woman at the desk was polite, but told me that was their rule - and then another worker told me the same, but said he would speak to his manager as that didn't make sense. I asked to have her call me so we could figure it out. I finally spoke with her 2 days later and explained the situation. She said that doesn't make any sense and the 11am thing only applies during the week. I thought phew! Finally someone makes some sense. That is until I go there to pick up my dogs and I am told that my stay from Wednesday at 11:15am - Saturday at 1:15pm (because they don't open until 1) was 5 days. What?! No matter what calendar you use, there is no way that is 5 days. That's not even 4 days. With 11am-11am days, that is 3 days (since the manager told me the 11am pick up deadline doesn't apply on the weekends). I called the manager since I had just figured this out with her the day before and was told that she never told me the 11am pickup doesn't apply on the weekends. (She said it should be 4 days though - not 5). I was told she would never say that about pickup and her workers would never say that. BUT THEY DID. After having to argue with the manager over the phone for nearly 10 minutes, she finally said she would pull up the cameras to see if the workers said that (but she made sure to tell me there's no way they did). She said it would take a couple of hours, but she'd send me the video so I could see it as well. She said if in fact they told me that, she would refund me the $62 it cost for the "day". The lady at the front desk said they get a lot of disputes about the pickup time. While waiting for the video, my husband posts a review that the service we received was terrible. The manager proceeds to text me telling me that they are no longer doing business with us and that she won't be looking at the video. Apparently they are only willing to do what they say they are going to do when they get good reviews. Needless to say, my dogs won't be going here any more.

We have 2 large dogs and 1 Xlarge and they all love it there.

My doggo loves it at camp! She gets excited when she sees at pick up time. But shes more exited when she sees the gate to come into camp! Definitely recommend. They love the dogs like they are theres ???? thank you JD yall are amazing!

What a wonderful camp for pups ! I had a 2 week job out in Greenville and brought Maddie to daycare at jd every day. By the second day she was greeted by name , the staff had spent a bunch of time with her and discovered all her tricks , found her a bunch of friends .. and she really didn’t seem interested in coming home with me ( which I tried not to take personally , haha ) I will make the drive out here should I ever need to board her, or work out here again, that’s for sure! Impeccably clean facility and staff were professional. A gem!

Great people taking good care of adorable animals

JD Kennels is the only place that I take my dog. They treat him with respect and have a wonderful facility. They don't keep my dog in a tiny cage like most places do. Also they will pickup and deliver your pet. Sooooo convenient. Super nice staff! A++++++ in my book!

I own a grooming shop in Frisco, and have used this boarder a few times. I’m giving them 1 star because my dog stayed here Wednesday @1 pm to Saturday 1 pm....and they charged me for 4 days. ALL the other boarders I have been to have only charged for the nights you spend. AND despite the pool and grounds, your dog is only out of the kennel 3-4 hours a day. Never again.
