The Animal Hospital of Rowlett & Heath are the only places I go for everything for my pets. Care, boarding and grooming. They are seriously the best and try to give you all options.

It takes a long time for anyone to answer the phone. I have called several times in one day. I guess they don’t have a dedicated receptionist. Weird. The treatment room I was in on my first visit had dog hair all over the floor. I don’t think they like small dogs.

Great first experience! Dr. Wawak was helpful, attentive and thorough. Glad to see we've found a new vet home after relocating to the Heath area.

we took my dog in and they were so rude to us until they figured out we did know what we were talking about worst part is we have been going there for a while.. I don’t recommend if you want proper care. I am not at all means trying to be rude just telling the truth they don’t like people and try to think they are right when they no nothing.

I LOVE Dr. Kimberly Downes and the staff at both Animal Hospital of Rowlett and the Heath location. Having been in this area for 26 years I’ve seen most vets and hands down, this is my favorite. They take such great care of my pups as well as communicate wonderfully with me. Additionally, they are much more cost effective than other vets in the area.

I have taken my fur babies to this vet for years. I have had only wonderful care and terrific results. I highly recommend them as the “go-to”veterinary clinic for all of your pets needs!

Had a wonderful experience for my first visit today. Dr. Watson got down on the ground to introduce herself to my very energetic JRT. This made her feel more comfortable before being examined. Then they gave her doggie cheese whiz to distract her while she was getting her vaccinations. I’ve been to many vets and this was by far one of the best! Thanks Dr. Watson!

This place is a joke. Been here twice now and the service is awful, staff is uninformed and inattentive, vet is just a shill for big pharma. They can’t even call in a prescription correctly. Real animal lovers will avoid this place

These folks love animals (and their owners). Professional, compassionate, thorough, friendly.....it's hard to imagine that our big ol' lab enjoys going to the doctor, but he absolutely does! Every time we get in the car, I'm convinced that he's hoping that we're going to see our great friends at the Animal Hospital of Heath (and really disappointed if he realizes that we're not). I've owned lots of pets and been to lots of vets in several cities and a couple of states, and this is by far the best experience that we've had.

I brought my Maltese in for a grooming and I gave specific instructions 3 times and picked up a completely shaved dog I didn’t even recognize. And they gave him a vaccination that I didn’t approve or ask for. Needless to say he’s traumatized. He has eaten very little and refuses to go outside. He’s been in hiding. Very disappointed. Ntm they charged me double from the quote over the phone.

Our dog Judd had a trauma to the eye & we took her to the Rowlett Animal Clinic. We just showed up & they worked us into the schedule so quickly to be seen by a doctor. Without urging us to do an invasive MRI the doc was able to recommend several options to help our sweet girl. We are so thankful to the professional staff, nurses & doctors who quickly cared for our fur baby quickly & efficiency. I’m pregnant & the nurse even helped me put Judd back in the car because I couldn’t lift her myself.

The doctors and staff are the greatest. They are knowledgeable and compassionate with the care of my cats. They always take the time to explain diagnosis and treatment plans for my sick little guys. If I could give 10 stars I would!

In past 25 years we have taken our six miniature schnauzers, one cocker, and one mini greyhound-pom mix to Dr. Downes. But we just took our first rescue cairn terrier/mini schnauzer mix for her first exam. She is a three year old who was found on the streets of Dallas and was not in good condition, not spayed and suffering from parasites, fleas and anemia. Our little streetwalker was a bit fear aggressive, biting and needed a good grooming. Here is what her first exam from Dr. Downes included: total physical exam (patiently given without getting bit and including dental), heartworm check, complete review of all known vaccines and preventatives, recheck of anemia levels (what a relief, improvement doubled) and confirmation of food choice. We were told on the spot that the heartworm check was negative and given a single dose of Trifexis, along with a single dose of Braveco. We were set up with refills from Vet Source. In the four days we had our new charge, she had bitten both of us when we grabbed her from the side or back. So Dr. Downes gave us a free slip leash and demonstrated how to use it so that we would not get bitten when we picked her up. We agreed on some further care steps after her spay operation. And we agreed on the age of three years and Dr. Downes explained her rationale. Animal Services had indicated from 2-5 years of age. We got an “Exam Report Card” on the spot – 29 detailed items of all that had been done in this first comprehensive exam. Well – not all that had been done… We had a groomer appointment set up for the next day at another facility, but we were asking how we could keep a bite from happening. Dr. Downes’ groomer (Dal Rock Pet Grooming Services) was in house while we were there and took our little girl, gave her a quick bath, hand clipped a lot of the mess off, thoroughly cleaned out all of the hair from her ears, and trimmed a very unruly head into a cute little angel face. And the groomer did not get bit – she was so gentle. So we cancelled our other groomer appointment and set the next two sessions here so that slow steady progress is made without adding more fear. We were there for an hour and a half. The cost? Under $100 for both well canine professional exam/consult and grooming services. As we were checking out, we mentioned we were having trouble with our patient portal access. The receptionist fixed our problem on the spot and emailed a detailed report and bill of services, which included pending reminders along with the Exam Report Card. You would be hard pressed to find better, more caring or more affordable quality care than here!!

Finding AHH/AHR was a highlight of moving to Heath. We've been clients for about 5 years and they have been with us through senior dogs with cancer/seizures and other end of life issues. They've cried as we've said goodbye and rejoiced with new puppies healing our hearts. They are skilled, compassionate, and a great team. THE BEST!!!
