My poor kitty has kidney problems and we paid $700 for testing at another Midlothian vet to find the cause. We took him to THRIVE thinking it would be affordable... $600 for tests we already had done AND they threatened to keep my cat and make me pay boarding on top of it. He stopped eating on Saturday night (likely due to kidney infection) so I called around to a few Animal ERs because vets aren’t typically open Sundays. They all quoted me anywhere from $500-$2000. I already did all of my Christmas shopping and paid my bills so that was not an option. It was so frustrating to see my baby sit there in pain because some Vets value money over the lives of our pets. Then I decided to give this place a try after my mom recommending. The Dr was nice and understood that the pet parents know their babies! The staff trusted everything we said and took everything into consideration. I got a vitamin shot, antibiotics, syringes and an ear cleaning solution for less than the visitation fee at the ER. They’re a little old fashioned but I’ll definitely be taking my kitties here from now on.

We have been with this vet for years reason being the staff is great and Dr Rook cares about all the animals he takes care of.

This is my veterinarian. Been goin here for years and will continue to go. Good folks

They are taking appointments now. But only on certain days so call first.

My dogs have never enjoyed going to the vet but this was a great visit they actually allowed him to hold them. When dogs love you, you get my vote

If I could give this place a one star I would. I’ve been taking my vet to this clinic for 14 years, and loved it until recently. Within the last 2 years, this vet has been SO difficult to even see. This clinic will close for a week to a month without notice. How is my pet supposed to get services if they aren’t even open for extended periods? This has happened several times over the last couple years and is very inconvenient when I take off work to take my pet to the clinic only to find out they aren’t open.

They closed from July 29- august 18? That’s a long time for your vet to be closed with no notice or anything, what are we supposed to do for those three weeks you are closed? Go to a new vet? Guess I’ll have to...

I stopped by 14th Street Veterinary Clinic in Midlothian because I am looking for a vet for my dad's dog. My day recently moved in just up the street from the vet. I was very impressed with the facilities, the administrative staff and technicians. I have heard nothing but accolades for Dr Hook but he was not in at the time of my visit. We will definitely take my dad's dog there. I will update my review if there are any issues.

Excellent vet. He really cares about your fur babies. Down to earth speaks in plain english you can understand and does not overcharge you. Very much appreciate you.

Very thorough but the wait is really long. First come first serve and the rest can't be seen until the next day. The veterinarian is worth the 3 hour wait though!

Best place to take your pets!! Everyone working there is so nice and Dr.Rook is amazing!! The prices are very fair and they actually care about the pets it's not about the money for them they just wanna help your pet! I am very particular with my cats and they take such good care of them! I definitely would recommend this place to everyone!!!

Have only used Dr.Rook a few times . Found him to be very caring and compassionate.

Took our little boy Perry to them yesterday...we just moved to this area in September...he had a complete check up in December with his vet in San Antonio...perry went in for a routine teeth cleaning....and he passed away ???? sad and heartbroken... 3yrs old perfectly healthy if I could give a 0 star I would have....we will definitely be looking for another vet....
