If I could leave 0 stars I would. I just off the phone with Colin County animal services and I am LIVID. I was also told that the new tethering law, is only for chains and can be tied up with ANYTHING else. This 90 pound dog, has gotten off his 4ft WIRE that he’s been tied to for 3months and is now just running the neighborhood. I called them to see if there was anything that I can do, and they basically laughed at me. Why get in the industry of working with animals, if you truly don’t care???????

We just adopted a cat from Collin Co. animal shelter and WOW!!! Amazing staff and volunteers. They took their time to make sure we found the perfect match. The animals were well cared for and everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

Literal trash. Made a commitment then turned back on their commitment. Clearly they don’t care about an animals needs or care about people in general. If I could give zero stars I would

Today we took home BB. Her owner passed away and she was one scared, sad, little girl. She now is in a home full of love and curled up with me on the couch. In her paperwork it states she used to sleep with her owner. When she got here she attempted to jump in my bed. It is too high for a little lady like her. She now learned the stairs that go up to the bed are much easier! Tonight she will be on memory foam, not concrete. Thank you to the staff for bringing us together. I promise she will be well taken care of and loved for the rest of her long life.

Most of the dogs seem content. And of course this is a better option than breeding!

The Collin County Animal Shelter is a wonderful place to get a new furry friend from. The facility is clean, they were constantly disinfecting everything the 2 hours I was there. Their staff is so sweet and their volunteers are incredible especially Sarah. I got my new dog from them last week and it was the best $50 I have ever spent. If you're looking for a new furry addition to your home or a good organization to donate to...this is the one! I've lived in Collin County for almost 27 years and this was my first time there. I was impressed and would highly recommend them to anyone!

My son attempted to adopt a dog today and the staff member refused because he lives in an apartment? That was her excuse as to why he could not adopt. I must say, an apartment with a loving owner is a much better place than any shelter. Shame on you!

Very nice people we just lost our pup and we're donating our supplies. They were thankful and supportive even in the brief moment I was there to give our belongings to be used by another family for their new pet.

Found a mother cat with kittens. I took it there. They took it. Thank you for not turning her away. There are still more cats in my neighborhood. They come to me when I call them. It is too cold to let cats run lose. If I had a home, I would rescue them.

Very rude and inattentive staff. They ignore you when you walk in, and seem annoyed when they have to do their job.

We had the best experience when we adopted two new "family members" from Collin County Animal Service. The staff was excellent, helpful and so friendly. The facility was clean and well organized. The pets all seemed to be very well cared for. We adopted two beautiful dogs and couldn't be more pleased. The cost was more than reasonable, in fact we made a little extra donation to help them in their great work. Thanks again.

After reading the reviews, seems like some of you shouldn’t been adopting an animal in first place. Giving the poor animal all hope, and crush their soul the next day.

Neighbors have an aggressive dog that attacked my wife without provocation in our front yard after it got out. Wife went to ER for bite wounds, tetanus vaccine. The ER reported the attack to the county, which is required. The owners next door, who are actually super nice, turned the dog in and requested it be euthanized after the standard rabies quarantine ended. So what does the Collin County Shelter do? Re-adopts it right back out to one of the neighbor's adult children living at home. So the aggressive dog is right back next door. The neighbor who surrendered the dog was told that since she signed it over to them, she gave up all rights to determine the outcome, therefore they could adopt out to whomever. Now her son is the legal owner. It is quite clear that the CCAS does not exist with the best interests of the citizens of the county. So, what if the dog escapes again and sees a kid walking from the bus stop? Unreal.

Rude staff. Would love to adopt a dog here one day, but the staff are always rude when we come in. Either following us around, telling us not to touch any animals, kicking us out of the stray area etc. just leave us alone with your attitudes and let us look at the dogs.

I've gone to drop dogs off bedore and it is fast. However. I needed to drop my own dog off due to financial distress and some other things. He's very anxious and scared of new people, they flat out told me they'd put him down or that I should put him down due to this. They didn't find a nicer way to say that and it was heartbreaking. He is only 1 year old and has plenty of time to learn to be better.

I can’t believe you are not able to talk to an actual person when you call. This is just completely insane. Plus, there is a tall slim Lady that was working at the front desk on 1/25/19, she wear her hair in a bun. She is not friendly and should not be working at the front!

Pup went in healthy for a 10 day quarantine and came out with terrible kennel cough which turned in to pneumonia. Now we have a traumatized sick pup and vet bills. The entire experience has been horrible for our sweet pup and his humans.

I am very pleased that the staff take pride in their job. My son is in the Navy and I couldn’t keep his lab after moving into a small efficiency apt and he had to be taken to the shelter until I was able to come up with a plan, or accept the fact that he would be adopted into a good family with plenty of room to roam. I visited the shelter last Friday without any hesitation from the staff, and spent 2 hours with him with tearful moments rolling down my face. Everyone knew him by name and stop to see how it was doing and to give him scratches behind his ears. I truly appreciate their services and making sure granny baby was in good hands. As of today, less than a month, he’s no longer online for adoption but he is adopted. Thank you Jesus, and I will continue to ask God to keep him protected and that’s he’s with an amazing family. #Captain ????
