I brought in my rabbit that had a severe head tilt. The staff were super friendly, and the doctor recommended the best course of action and supplied me with medicine to help treat the head tilt. She explained all the medicines and how to use, and now my rabbit regained his balance and, fixed his head tilt and is back to running and jumping like normal! Thank you to all the staff for helping my pet regain his life.

I have worked with Dr. Johnson and her practice on two occasions-both with my rats who needed end-of-life care. I find her and her staff to be responsive, kind, and compassionate. They go above and beyond, have fit me in during their busy time when I needed urgent care, and they follow Covid protocols. I tell everyone I know that they are amazing.

The Doctor and staff here have far exceeded my expectations with the care and attention to my cats. The most thorough vet clinic that I've experienced. They take the time to explain everything in great detail and are very affordable.

I called this & 13 other vets that day, plus looking at some of their websites. My Blue & Gold Macaw needed help but they all insisted on appointments a week out. My bird died last Saturday. He had lived with me for 35 years, & I am devastated. Can't believe these so-called specialists care nothing about helping such a magnificent creature.

They were the only ones that were willing to take my cat in same day for a urinary blockage and did an amazing job. They're very knowledgeable and walked me through all the treatment options in detail and listened to my input on them. The Dr had great suggestions for prevention in the future and called twice after the appointment to check up on how the treatment was working and seemed to genuinely care. I completely trust them with my pets and they are very reasonably priced too. If you're looking for a great vet look no further, you won't be disappointed.

Our hedgehog had to have her eye removed due to an injury and we were able to be seen the next day (the injury was not noticed until early evening) which was not the case with any of the exotic vets we called prior. Dr. Johnson took excellent care of our baby. The cost was very reasonable as well. All the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back for our cats' check ups!

So I'm one of their ferret customers. When the pandemic started and we couldn't find an appointment that would take in new customers for exotics, Cedar Creek Animal Hospital was willing to take us in. We've had 7 ferrets in total, 4 currently. Two of our ferrets had to come in regularly for vet checks because they had insulinoma, unfortanetly they passed from that disease. Dr.Johnson was very informative about their condition, their treatment plan, and of course the hard part that would come of it. Although we couldn't go inside, the care from the vet techs and the doctor worked well at adapting to this setback, while waiting in the car Dr.Johnson would call and give thorough consultation about what's going on during examinations. She states she has worked with ferrets before in California and apparently would see then often, until she moved here when it became more of a rarity. She would brush up on studies and current medical practices that is being done for ferrets. I can tell Dr.Johnson takes her job very seriously, she really cares about her patients and will explore options for treatments and what the owner is comfortable with doing for their pet. A volunteer from Texas Ferret Lovers Rescue recognized Dr.Johnson as one of the best ferret doctors in North Texas. All this is to say Dr.Johnson has done a good job with our ferrets. The only issue I experienced was about Lupron, they probably don't order it often and it needs to be bought in bulk, and if not enough patients use it it'll expire. I only needed to get a 2nd opinion on adrenal prognosis from Dr.Murray, he had Lupron shots and implants, it seems safe and effective for ferrets even for some that are hard to diagnose with adrenal. So if your ferret needs more advanced procedures Dr.Johnson might suggest going to a specialist.

No problem with Dr. Johnson even though I've never laid eyes on her. (Still doing curbside) Took my dog in for heartworm treatment. He's not supposed to have his heart rate up and they brought him out to me on a slip leash. Girl holding the leash wasn't paying him attention and he was thrashing around on the end of the leash (rescue with severe anxiety). I was standing at the door but they wouldn't let me in due to curbside. When I brought it up to the staff....they said I was mistaken. And that they just wouldn't let me stay because he was going to be there all day. Like I wanted to sit by the kennel all day. I haven't had any trouble with this vet or the vet office until I tried to call them out on something. Changing today to Lake Forest Animal Hospital.

I've moved many times and taken my dogs to many vets and Dr. Johnson is the best vet I've had the fortune of meeting. I trust my dog in her care, I find her advice sage and practical and it's clear she and her staff care about the animals. I have some friends who also go to Cedar Creek Animal Hospital (dog and cat owners) and they all have nothing but good things to say as well.

I echo the sentiments of others' reviews, that the vet here does really care about your fur babies. However, that's the only good thing I can say about my experience with them. This place is sketchy, poorly run, and over-priced. I took my baby here out of desperation on a Friday morning. I was there for hours, they try but they completely over book. They took xrays and blood draws but forgot to send off her blood so by Saturday afternoon I had no results. Waste of time. I decide to get a refund and they give it in cash with no receipts. I take my baby to Eldorado Vet Hospital (which I highly recommend - they're open Saturdays, better priced, not busy, and the vet was very kind when I ended up having to put down my baby). Cedar creek was evasive about sending my cat's records, like pretending it never happened.. not sending xray after saying they would. Overall, NOT IMPRESSED.

Dr. Johnson is awesome, even in a hard situation that every pet owner dreads. Our beloved Bella Rose lived a long & wonderful life, but it was time for her to head to heaven. The entire staff was excellent & professional. They made a tough time much easier. Best vet & staff in Texas!

The staff was very kind, and extremely professional. They answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable with giving my Sugar glider Sal to look at his broken arm. They were very sweet to him and gave him a cheerio when he left, which I'm sure he was thankful of. He didn't seem anxious or anything, he acted very calm and happy when he left. If you're looking for an exotic vet who is going to be honest with you and give you the information and help you need, I highly suggest going to this place.

Cedar Creek Animal Hospital in McKinney came through for me!! I had a rooster that had aspirated and his comb was beginning to turn blue/purple due to lack of oxygen. Dr. Johnson and the staff were all wonderful! I had an appointment within a hour after I called and got some antibiotics for him. I’ll definitely be bringing all my other animals to her from now on!! I highly recommend Cedar Creek Animal Hospital.

Dr.Johnson does exotics (rabbits - which I currently have 5) and helps me with my wildlife emergencies (I am a rehabber). She fits me in when I have emergencies and even if she is busy, takes the time to help talk me through things. She is enjoyable to talk to and a wealth of knowledge. She is kind and compassionate and has helped us through more than one difficult euthanasia. Her prices are very reasonable compared to others. Her staff is friendly as well.

I was not happy with the treatment my dog received here. It was not effective and extremely over priced. I spent $750 to have my dogs cherry eye removed. Come to find out she tucked it and it came back a month later. Not only was it a waist of money but he went through all that pain for nothing. What really upset and raised concerns for me the most was my baby was very lethargic after surgery so I took him right back the next morning (mind you he had not left mine or my mother’s site from the time I picked him up to the time we took him back) and she wanted to do a stomach X-ray on him (priced at over $100.00) because she thought he swallowed something. First off that was impossible unless he ingested something while in her care at which point I should not be charged for the X-ray. Second off whatever was going on with him was clearly related to the surgery or anesthesia he was given. Especially since she had mentioned when I picked him up that the reason the total was more then what was initially told to me was because she had to give him more anesthesia because she couldn’t get him to go to sleep for the surgery. Instead of being concerned for his well being and weather or not she gave him to much anesthesia it felt like she was just trying to get me to spend more money on a completely unnecessary X-ray. Needless to say I will not ever trust them with an animal of mine again. I will be taking him to the Shot Spot for them to remove the cherry eye for half the cost as well.

End of the day on a Friday, I called and they were able to get my sick cat in within 15 minutes. They immediately came in to care for him, and the vet was so attentive and concerned about my baby. She and the assistants constantly were updating me, helping me make the most humane choice for my pet. I did end up having to put him down, and Dr. Johnson let me say goodbye, spend as much time as I needed, and she was so kind and compassionate helping me with a difficult choice. I am so fortunate to have found them, and grateful that loving care was provided to my family member.
