Safari Veterinary Care Center League City, Texas

We have been getting a prescription for our pig and the cost doubled all the sudden. After two months we come back for our third month of a four month plan and it went from $180 to $390. They said we had been giving it to us at cost and there was a price increase! Then as we leave to find a better price they come out and said they would take $240! I don’t believe they we giving it to us at cost and why dont you offer that price first. Look at your records. Double prices! Very disappointed in their unorganized manner at the desk since we had to come back because they couldn’t find it 45 min earlier. then the treatment with price increase It’s a joke

My animals and I love this vet. The prices are a bit high, but the trick around that is to get on one of their wellness plans. It makes things way more affordable. This vet made my kitty feel very at home and cared for when she was sick and needing to be seen every 1-2 weeks. Every time we walked in, the sweet techs recognized her immediately and were always happy to see her. It was very nice of Safari to do family Santa pictures for free around Christmas time. We were able to get some very special pictures with my kitty before she passed away. I will always be grateful for that. I am able to see such care and passion in everything that each employee does. One thing to keep in mind if you are considering them is that they can be VERY slow. A basic appointment can sometimes take a couple of hours. I am fine with them taking a while if it means that they are being thorough with each pet. Their hours are great as well. I dont have to take off of work for appointments since they are open until 8, and open on weekends. I highly recommend this vet!

Seems like an ok place.

They saved my cat twice when every other vet was charging me with no results. I will never take my pets to anyone else. They are good people!!!!!

They take such great care of my dogs bleui and Lucy and are always very thorough about what is going on and before sending you home with medicine for your animals they make sure you know all the details this is an amazing vet office and I feel like Iv found my forever vet with safari thank you for taking such great care of my fur babies

It’s hard to find a good vet for numerous reptiles, but Safari has been incredible. They’re very knowledgeable, intuitive, and careful regarding their patients. I couldn’t recommend them more for anyone needing a reptile vet.

Edit: Its now 2021 and Safari continues to overcharge its customers. For example, Baylor Animal Clinic charges $25 for Cat Basic shots, whereas Safari charges $150. Why the extra $125? Old Post: Quality of service has declined in the 2 years as well as expertise. On several different visits diagnosis by some was questionable and another had to fix the issue. Disappointed!

We cannot praise this facility and its staff enough. We brought our extremely sick springer spaniel from Dallas to their Houston animal hospital. From the minute we walked in the door, until our boy was loaded back into our truck these people went above and beyond to help him survive. The stem cell treatment was really his last chance and he’s now doing great at home where he belongs. Thank you so much. Mike, Helen Fisher and of course Tomac.

They are so good with our dog, she is never scared when we get there. They always give details on what is going on with her and makes sure we understand.

My dog hurt her knee and needed and to lose weight before treatment. Her vet recommended Safari and I'm so glad! She goes in twice a week for laser treatments and a work-out on the water treadmill. I feel so comfortable leaving her at the facility because I can tell the trainers generally care about my dog and my dog likes them! She not only lost the weight she needed, but she is even social with the other dogs in rehab...and she wasn't too social before. Definitely recommend!

Outstanding care for any pet

I heard of safari through a coworker who brings her dogs here and decided to try it. I’m not from this area so I needed to find a reliable vet. I would have to say I did not like my experience here. The facility is clean and fancy but that’s about all that’s good about it. First when I was put in a room and was greeted by the vet tech he would hardly look at me. He acted like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. He didn’t act like he cared to hear what I had to say at all and that’s fine but at least TRY to be personable. Then when another vet tech took my puppy and was weighing her I could hear her YELLING at my puppy! Yelling at her to STOP! And SIT! And with the cameras I could see it as well! I was so upset about this you don’t Yell at an animal like that especially someone else’s pet! My puppy was very scared it was her first time at a vets office! That vet techs behavior was unacceptable and she should have understood that my puppy was very scared but she was unprofessional. You don’t treat a scared animal like that and now she could possibly be even MORE scared of the vet because of that behavior. The only other good thing was that the vet was nice. I only saw her for like two seconds but at least she was the only nice person I saw.

The staff is phenomenal, Everyone was very professional, helpful, and sincerely considerate. I brought in my dog Chika for an emergency surgery and they took care of her immediately. They knew I was worried about cost so they kept me in the loop about everything. They were amazing. I would most definitely come back here again for her. Thank you all so much again. You have saved my dog and I am eternally grateful. ????

Overall experience was ok. A rather young looking helper came in examining room to get my dog. He seemed quite shy and a little hard to communicate with. That was ok but after bringing my dog back in after expressing glands, my dog smelled awful. I took some of the wet ones in the room and started cleaning up my dog's bottom. It was nasty. Should have been done before bringing dog back to me.

The Vets and staff treat my pets almost as well as I do!

We have utilized Dr.Garner 's services for the care of multiple pets over the course of 15-20 years. He is caring, compassionate and dedicated.

I have been bringing my animals here for the past 3yrs. I love this veterinary center. They always let me come with my dog to the back to get weighed, given her shots etc. They are super kind and patient with my dog as she has some bad separation anxiety. They are a little more expensive, BUT it is 100% worth my peace of mind knowing they treat my fur babies with the absolute best care and kindness.

They were very kind and knowledgeable. Maddy and I got in really quick. They took good care of us and I'm grateful.

I had an emergency with my fur baby and his veterinarian at Banfield wouldn’t not see; due to no appointments ( so disappointing). My neighbor told be about Safari. They were happy to care for my baby with no questions about an appointment. I really appreciate Safari staff and doctors for the kindness, and professionalism. My Mr. Buttons is on the road to recovery thanks to Safari vet clinic. I have canceled my wellness plan with Banfield and getting Safari wellness plan. They truly care!!!

Had a very sick cat. They got me an appointment within 24 hours of calling them. Wonderful staff, friendly and caring. Very professional but empathetic as well. Doctor and techs were top notch. And their pricing was fair for all services I received. This is my new vet for my four cats.

My baby got bit by another dog and it was 6 pm I didn’t want to go straight to the emergency hospital because it wasn’t deep but I was still concerned and wanted him to be seen. They took him in right away once the cut started bleeding. The front desk man( I didn’t get his name) was WONDERFUL. He calmed me down and was very kind while I was crying and a mess. Thank you for seeing my dog. I’ve never been here before but definitely will be back❤️

Extraordinary! I can't say enough about this place and the staff. Care and compassion from ever worker. Ariel, Scout,Laurie,Jimmy....thats just a few of the wonderful employees I have Interacted with. I have a bird. Every employee walked by and talked to him or checked on him several times. Brought tears to my eyes watching how much they care. Great communication and always keeping me up to date. They Will be getting all my animals now. So glad I was referred to them,by Deer Park Animal Hospital! People get upset about the wait and they are extremely busy. But they are spending time knowing their patient and owner. People should not expect a doctors office to be quick and it should be looked at the same way for the vet. I would wait hours if I had to.This review comes from 3 months of care from weekly visits. They have now got to meet one of our dogs and have treated him. I have never met a team like this!! One of the men has been their 17 year!!

We absolutely love the Safari team. As a parent to two very big, very difficult Great Danes, it’s tough to find a vet that is comfortable with giant breeds. Safari is well equipped and prepared for our big guys. Even after we’ve had some traumatizing experiences with our youngest Dane who has anxiety and shown aggression to the staff, they have continued to welcome us and help us navigate his issues. We’ve found our lifelong vet in Safari.

Jacob had his successful surgery. Staff were helpful and informative. Following his surgery, I immediately received a phone call updating me on how he was doing. Very much appreciated !

Great costumer service - they keep me informed with details when my dog has to be boarded.

Took our sick cat here, ended up having to euthenizise the cat. They were polite, sincere, and not judgemental. We made several office visits and the cat didn't not get better she was old and lived a good life. Would recommend anyone to take there animals here. They are knowledgeable and helpful. They give you an estimate before treatment.
