Honestly, read reviews and they were not at all what we experienced. This place was great! The doc was really knowledgeable, took pet care VERY seriously, and the price to time waiting ratio was amazing; very fair market price. This place can't be beaten. *UPDATE* This doctor does not guess what's wrong with your sick pet, he will test, he will cure them. Medicine is not inexpensive, weather its for an animal or human. Dr. Santos is the best in Laredo period. He saved our little girl when all odds were against her. He and his team did it. Will be back for all my pet emergencies.

These people do not care about innocent animals. They don’t care about saving lives. All they care about is how many zeros are in your bank account, or how much money you have in your pockets. If you don’t match up, your pet and you are worthless. Pathetic if I could rate any less I would!

The negative reviews are true!! Came in as a walk-in and I had forgotten my mask and unfortunately I didn’t have any with me. As soon as I walked in I was told to wear a mask so I asked the receptionist if she can give me one, was then told to wait outside so she can provide me one. Got fed up bc of the heat WAS WAITING OUTSIDE FOR 15-20MINUTES JUST FOR A MASK. Again got told to wear a mask and reminded her that she told me she was going to give me one, the dr then comes and pulls out a box of mask that was LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT TO THE RECEPTIONIST!!! ALL IT TOOK WAS FIVE SECONDS AND SHE HAD ME WAITING OUTSIDE IN THE HEAT WITH MY PET!! The VetDr was also rude enough to talk back to me and that made my decision to leave the premises NEVER COME HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

They seem to just care about the money. Hadn't checked him up properly and was already giving a quote. To the price they ask for it gives the impression of them not caring about the actual pet who is sick but rather of the money they can get out of you. Doctor was switching between rooms and lasted a while to check-up on the results even after the time was up for the wait of the results. Wouldn't recommend there. Only decent things are that the rooms where placed for consultation are clean and one of the male nurses/staff is nice.

I called in this morning for a quote about euthanizing my pet due to old age / cancer issues and the lady who answered kept interrupting me the whole time I was trying to explain my dog’s lab results. She told me I had to go in for a quote. I told her I did not have a ride and I just needed a quick quote. That was all. She responded saying, “Well, that’s just too bad. Please hold.” and she placed me on hold. That lady seems to have some sort of mental / emotional disorder and should not be allowed to do any form of customer service because she is very rude. She needs to be on a high dose of meds and clean the toilets — not deal with people and their pets because she has no empathy whatsoever. She’s horrible. 0 stars for this place!

They are by far the best vet practice in Laredo

Older lady really rude and to me they get so much work that they can't handle and the assistance is really rough with the animals the maintenance guy is much nicer and to freaking expensive

I visited this place on a Sunday since it was closed at my usual vet place. He basically told me it was going to be too expensive, to just put him down and I had to pay $150 for that. He just cares about makin the money. Besides that, he is cocky and arrogant and selfish.

Dr. Santos is in my opinion the best Veterinarian in Laredo by far. You pets will always will be in good hands At South Texas Veterinary Hospitals. I have had multiple dogs and will always go with Dr. Santos as I have had bad experiences with other local vets.

Horrible service! I called twice the first time they put me on hold for 10 minutes and still nothing, the second time I called a lady answered did not even let me talk and immediately put me on hold. When she came back I asked one question she responded then interrupted me and put me back on hold. I mean if you can’t handle calls then I don’t think you should be working there honestly.

I have a pug that needs removable of stitches from being fixed they keep me on hold for 10 minutes and to tell me that they can’t help me since surgery was not made in there clinic.. and that they could ask the Vet .. he is a vet he is supposed to help animales no matter the case very unprofessional and not answer my question I am from Dallas and I will not recommend this clinic bad customer service and not professional at all..

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I called today in hopes of sharing a flyer for lost dog with them. The person that answered the phone placed me on hold multiple times and interrupted every time I tried to explain what I was calling for. Only made time to argue with me after I shared my frustration on their lack of willingness to help and overall unprofessionalism in how they handled my call. It was a terrible experience. I called every other vet in Laredo and they happily shared their email for me to send the flyer to and offered their assistance in helping reunite this dog with their owner. This vet office refused to do that. I would not trust this place to provide quality care to my pets. They obviously don't care about their community, pets or customers.

Bad service and attitude Dr said my puppy should eat every 2 hours and didn't check her just said it could be parvel went to other vet said there wrong bad place shouldn't be open MALPRACTICE ????????????

If I could read this place is zero I would. The assistant kept saying bad words while I was filling out some forms. They kept telling me why don’t you just take them to your vet. No compassion. Will never come back here again.

The young man who answered was very short with me. I asked standard questions in reference to how much the office visit were, and cost of male cat neutering was, each question seem to annoy him more than the last ( I asked 3). He very annoyed explained it was by weight and ONLY the DR could tell me. I asked if there was a way to get at the very least a range so that I can plan accordingly (he didn’t ask for the weight) and he said “ugh hold on” and left me on hold for 15 minutes. I had to disconnect because I got tired of waiting. Very disappointed we could not do business. Hiring the right personnel is imperative to a successful business. They should consider retraining him and he doesn’t know how to serve customers.

Crooks and unprofessional. I could hear the vet getting mad at his employee cussing at him while I was waiting in the room. Just out for the money doesn’t care about the pets.

This dr is very blunt. And he is loud to his staff but he will never be rude or mistreat your animal ever. I myself have not had a bad experience but I read other comments. And for me that’s all that matters. For my babies to be in great hands with truly an expert. He cares for animals and he has great love for them. He is actually opens on Saturdays which is a plus to me. In one occasion he saved my babies life. My cat drank antifreeze and he was having liver failure. This dr saved his life. He’s done 4 operations on my cats female/male and they have all been successful (spay/neuter).

Not open when they it’s open really inconvenient

They charged me 20 bucks for a pill that my cat had to take. He had to take 15 of them all just because he had stomach flu. It’s a ripoff

I absolutely love this place...The Doctor and his staff are wonderful...we travel quite extensively with a dog and 5 cats...it is very hard to find a Doctor that will work on our babies without an appointment when they need help...Dr. Santos has shown an extreme amount of Care and Love for whatever problem I have brought into him...Fifi had a broken leg, Tigger had a bad tooth, Lucy had a bad cold and matted eyes, and Rambo had inflamed gums and a bad tooth...Doctor Santos you are a godsend...THANK YOU

Worst experience ever! Dr santos was rude abusive towards me and my daughter. He charged for services he didn’t perform. I believe he would have killed my dog out of spite. He was unkept and acted under the influence. Stay far away from this place!

I am astonished at some of the reviews I am reading. I can definitely say my experience was easy and professional. The doctor, assistants and receptionist were all really nice and caring. Some people don't realize that maybe rude service starts with a rushed rude customer. Also I swear y'all, do not try to leave your little daughters alone at their clinic, that is unecessary liability and an unprofessional thing to do if they tolerated such things. Just don't forget y'alls wallets and also if there is a line (cuz theres other people other then you) it helps no one when you complain, are pushy or impatient. Treat others the way you want to be treated and learn a little self awareness.
