VCA Jones Road Animal Hospital Houston, Texas

Been going here since my dog was 4 months old (10 years total). The staff is always very nice (from kennel, reception, grooming, tech to physician) and have always taken care of dennis. They have imaging (xray, ultrasound), labs (blood and urine) on site, are able to board, vaccines, dental, full groom and prescribe/fill medication as well. The main groomer (as far as i know) jenny, has a great attitude and has always made him look and subsequently feel his best. I moved far and still have to take him here because i don't want to gamble on another hospital at this stage yet.

When multiple other vets in the area weren't willing to take in our small dog for an emergency c-section, the hospital at VCA Jones Road responded very quickly and within 30 minutes of my first call, our dog was taken into surgery. Everything went well. The doctor and staff were amazing. This us our new vet for all of our dogs. We are forever thankful.

My dog (Mila) ripped her nail on Thanksgiving. This office was wonderful. They were able to get me in the very next day and fix the issue. The entire team was great and friendly...from the 1st phone call and treatment. Thanks to all the staff.

I have been taking my pets to this clinic for ten years; since before it was bought out by VCA. Since being bought by VCA this place has become a revolving door for staff and doctors. The rate of turnover is incredible, my pets haven't been see by the same doctor twice since VCA took over. In my experience, the staff are pleasant, but unprofessional and seem poorly or completely untrained. When I call either they can't get my name right, can't find my pet's records or put me on hold, only to have another staff member pick up the phone and ask if I've been helped. On my last visit I waited 40-minutes past my appointment time to be seen, and I was the only person waiting. The final straw was an admission by one of the vet techs that I had been given me the wrong medication for my dog on a previous visit.

The staff was very friendly and kind to my fur baby!

My dog was sick so I took her there they were gentle with her as she had been abused before I rescued her. They were patient with my baby and the price was really fair.

Great place to bring your pets

This place lost my business today. Took my cat in for bloodwork in preparation for surgery, CBC blood test price increased over quote a couple months ago from 242 to 277. If that’s not bad enough, exam cost went up from $45 to $63.95 (a 40% price increase in 2 months, SERIOUSLY??? I called another vet and the CBC blood test is $189, and an exam is $49. Out of principle, as much as the ripoff, see ya VCA

We did wait 30 minutes to see the vet, but she was super friendly and was patient with my pup, who doesn’t like the vet. I also appreciated being able to get an appointment the same day.

My family has used VCA Jones Road Animal Hospital for many years. Two of our beloved family members have been treated and assisted into the next life at this facility. We have been patrons for more than 10 years. In November of 2020, we take in my precious 8 year old who was suddenly skinny and not eating. We were told she was suffering from kidney failure, but that they were “waiting on a prognosis” before they could release her or notify us of next steps. I, grief ridden and confused, accepted this answer from a respected professional. My dog was kept medicated in a kennel for 4 days, and every day I called to schedule visits and feedings, and every day they said they were trying their best and worked with me to visit her. Finally on the 5th day I wait anxiously for my morning call, and the vet tells me my dog is trying to pass. We’re able to be with her in her last moments, and for this I’m very grateful. After she passed on, we are escorted into a patient room and the tech asks for my card and takes all my money for treatment, euthanasia, and cremains. I wish they had told me sooner that my dog was not in a good way, so she wouldn’t have had to sleep in a kennel during this difficult time. She wouldn’t have had to suffer or be confused. I wish she were made more comfortable, and I wish I had more clear communication with the vet. I didn’t know the right questions to ask, and I feel they took advantage of my situation. I understand COVID 19 affected everyone in 2020, and my situation was difficult. I want to believe everything was handled to the best of everyone’s ability, even if I suffered a loss. This morning I called to schedule an appointment for a dog we have taken to this facility for 10 years, and they said they didn’t have his patient profile, but they did find the profile of my deceased dog. I give up with Jones Road Animal Hospital.

VCA Jones Road is always fantastic with my animals. Max, my basset, is relaxed and comfortable with the staff and they’re very gentle and caring. I brought a stray kitten earlier this week and they were so kind and caring to him. Highly recommend this place.

After 11 years of going to Jones Road hospital and over 10k in money spent, 1600 less than 3 months ago on a cat that lived 1 day I wont be returning. I placed an order for flea medication for my other animals and they refused to approve it based on the fact they hadn't seen them recently. Sad that money for them on exams is taking precedent over approving my request. I understand they want to make sure the animals in question dont have heartworms, but they are both over 13 years in age and wouldnt matter as they are close to end of life anyways. I explained my situation and they were unwilling to work with me. Out of spite I will be taking my current and all future animals to a different vet. Update. 7/27/21 I found a VET right around the corner, open Sundays as well, Jersey Village Animal Hospital, I was stunned at how much they were like the old Jones Road Animal Hospital, vets have been there over 10 years, very kind staff. I almost want to thank VCA for declining my flea medication request and forcing me to find this gem. I told you guys on the phone it was bad business to decline such a small request considering the money I spent with you guys over the years.

This is by far the best animal hospital we have been too. Everyone here is very sincere and honest. Andria and Dr. Yonkers have been very patient and helpful with us with all the questions we bombarded them with. Would 10/10 recommend this place over any other place!

My dog's prescription has been overlooked multiple times. I'll be put on 30/40 minute holds waiting for my dog's medicine, or just to confirm that she has a prescription waiting for her, when they should just be filling out the 1800PetMeds form and sending it over. I shouldn't have to be on the phone with them at all unless I'm scheduling an appointment, Biscuit's medication is on autorefill. This place overcharges for medicine, so I use 1800PetMeds, and they NEVER fill out the form when it's sent. It's so frustrating because it takes a few days to ship the medicine out, so my dog is without her proin for several days and she has to wear diapers. This office is incredibly frustrating.

Our dog was sick throwing up, very lethargic, and wouldn't eat or drink. So we took her to another vet who did blood work and said probably she ate something she wasn't supposed to and told us if she didn't get better in a couple of days we would need to take her to a animal hospital. So we chose VCA and they took a look at the bloodwork from other Vet and right away suspected Addison's disease then admitted her and tested for it and sure enough that's what it was. We aren't excited that our dog has it but we can now treat it and owe her life to VCA and excellent Vet staff! They will be our Vet for life!

My dog was having an issue and not feeling well. I was frantic on a Saturday and calling around to every vet in the area. I understood that everyone was booked since it was a Saturday but it seemed like nobody really cared. I called the VCA at Jones and I was expecting to hear they were booked too but she asked what the issue was and fit me in. The vet was very nice and after treating my dog even checked on us twice to see how my dog was doing after the appointment. I'm thankful for them getting us in so quickly that day and helping me with my fur baby.

Great experience with vet tech Ankisa Thomas she was so sweet and thoughtful. Made me feel good and dr Roberson is the best . Definitely recommend.

I’ve been a customer for years and they always go above and beyond. Everything is excellent!

We’ve been ordering our dogs flea & tick meds through VCA for several months- it always came out to about $25 /month. This month we were charged an additional $13. Their reasoning was because they were low in stock in house. We were never told this was the case while on the phone when placing the order. There is no note on the receipt explaining the upcharge. When asked why it was cheaper in the past, they said they accidentally overcharged us for something else and discounted the next item to make up for it. Their website lists the price at $24.99. Shady business practices. I think they take advantage of people’s love for animals here, and will not be coming back because I could not get a consistent answer for the significant price increase.
