Steve Pelton, DVM - Hearthstone Animal Clinic Houston, Texas

Dr. Pelton performed a 2 hour exploratory surgery to remove these toys from our pug. He was communicating with us and answered all of our questions through the text service they offer along with phone calls.His staff is very professional and they worked with us beyond any other Vets office I've gone to before. All of our dogs go here.

Wait for a minimum of 2 hours and it seems that they only lock up your pet without doing anything to him. very expensive prices

I had the pleasure of taking my dog Chuck, a 73 lb black lab hounds mix, to this clinic on Saturday 11/06/21 for a ear hematoma, an ear filled with fluid, most likely blood from a busted vein. This easily one of the best places I ever taken any of my 9 dogs. It was a great experience from start to finnish, including the initial phone call. I'm a 37 year old divorcee, living with my folks, so I have to be cost concious. This was the 2nd place to actually give me an idea of what the cost might be, the young lady told me roughly 150 but it ended up being 132. Most places tried to tell me that I would have to bring in Chuck before they could give me a price, to which my response was I know you can't give me an exact price but you should be able to give me a ball park of an idea of price but apparently not. The day of the appointment was even better and went very smooth. Sadly my dogs haven't had the chance to be around many people so I was a little concerned but didn't have to worry about. They were very good with Chuck. They actually brought him out from the room and to me after his appointment and I didn't realize he was right in front. When we were done with Chuck they listened and not only answered all my questions, they printed out the info, gave me prices for a vaccines from another locations (do vaccines at the cheaper location and them be my health clinic, her idea... Which was awesome!!) Ok also asked for information on a near by place to get my dogs better trained and used to strangers. The person the clinic used to work with closed down but the lady at the rest told me she would ask around the staff and text me the info later and she actually followed through on it. I am so beyond happy with this place and plan to bring my 2 other dogs in when the need arises. Try this place out. I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.

We have been taking our animals here for 15 years. They are the best. So helpful and quick to respond, even through text. I will never switch vets.

I'm a new client of Hearthstone Animal Clinic and I'm very happy with the service I've received. I reached out to them in a bit of an emergency when our regular vet couldn't fit us in. Not only did they fit us in the same day they took fantastic care of my baby. I was expecting to pay quite a bit but was pleasantly surprised when the bill was very reasonable. They even called me after hours to check up on her to make sure she was on the mend. I plan on getting our other pup established there as well. Highly recommend.

I will never take my pets anywhere else!!

Dr. Pelton and his staff are awesome! Moving away and having to take my elderly dogs to other vets has only made me appreciate Hearthstone even more, which compelled me to write this review after being a customer for many years. I truly appreciate the responsiveness, whether it is with test results, prescriptions, or emails. Dr. Pelton has also invested in an app that allows you see all of your pet's medical history, and share with others as needed. This can be a (literal) life saver in an emergency. The entire staff is so knowledgeable, professional, caring, and accommodating. Our furry kiddos have had their fair share of issues over the years and I always felt confident in Dr. Pelton's advice and guidance. There is nobody I would trust more.

The first few times I brought my dogs here I loved the place. However more recently it seems the office managent/front desk have become completely incompetent. First, their system for "drop off" appointments is awful. If you want your dog to be fully examined, do not do one of these. I've brought my dog in twice for the same condition with his eye, only to be told not to worry about it. Not being satisfied with this explanation, and since his eye is constantly swelling, I took him to another vet who gave a different diagnosis (likely because they took the time to ask me questions). I am not sure if the staff doesn't tell the doctor the whole story of what we've told them about his issues, or if the doctor is overbooked, but it does not seem like my concerns get addressed in these appointment types. More recently I called to schedule an appointment to look at an injury to my dog. The front desk associate scheduled me for an appointment the next business day, and before I had a chance to ask any questions or the time of the appointment they hung up. I received a confirmation of my appointment date and time, but upon arriving at my scheduled time I was told the appointment was a drop off appointment for 7-9AM (my email confirmation said 12pm and did not mention it was a drop off only). This used to be a fantastic location, however, based on my recent experiences they need to make some changes to their services.

I have been taking my dogs to this clinic for as long as I can remember. Dr. Pelton is amazing and you can tell how much he loves animals. His staff is phenomenal and I will continue bringing my dogs here! Highly recommend them!

Love this clinic so much! They are always so friendly and sweet to us and our babies. When I leave my babies with them I know they are in good hands, especially when my cantankerous one gets a good report from them.

The team was awesome ! They made me feel confident in the care my shepherd mix received ! I am recommending this vet to anyone looking for a new provider.

Our little 8-week puppy widget has been diagnosed by another veterinarian with severe parvo. Could not find any other veterinarian to help us till we called here. We Don't know widgets results yet but we know with all the confidence that she is in the right place. The doctor called us back within 30 minutes of her being dropped off there and started treatment immediately. Pray for our little widget!

Dr. Pelton and his staff are always amazing. They really care about my pets like their own. I travel across town for the Dr and his staff. They also have prices that are reasonable.

Dr Pelton has been our veterinarian since August 2007. We are in dachshund rescue and he has taken care of our many fosters, strays, and personal dogs with compassion and integrity. We trust his judgment and know that he will always do whatever he feels is necessary and he is always respectful of our concerns, answering our questions. He has gone over and above, even bringing one of our dachshunds home with him after extensive, serious surgery so that she wouldn’t be alone at night. She passed away the next day and he and his sympathetic staff allowed us time with her in private. We cannot imagine going anywhere else and feel extremely fortunate to have him as our veterinarian. We regard him as a friend; not “just” our veterinarian.

Hearthstone Animal Clinic is practicing curbside service and delivery of your pet. As a handicapped senior who struggles to walk, this has been a welcomed service. Dr Steve Pelton is an excellent young Veterinarian, attentive, manages a professional staff. My pets have been his patients for years. I highly recommend getting to know his office manager Mary, who is the soul of his practice. I cannot tell you how much she adds to a reassuring experience when your beloved pet is on the line. Dr Pelton and Mary are the Dynamic Duo of the Pet Wellness arena.

Dr. Pelton and his staff have taken care of all my dogs. They care about my dog and they care about me. Hearthstone is simply the best!

This year is the first year we switched to Hearthstone Animal Clinic. Due to the pandemic, we only could drop off our pets for checkup and pick them up later. Making appointment was super easy. Dropping off and picking up was a breeze. The staff was super friendly and informative. My 2 girls returned with happy smiles on their faces. The price is reasonable as well compared to other vets I went to the past couple years. They gave me advise on what services is recommended or not needed at the moment to avoid duplicated effort (fecal test only needed for one of my pets since they live in the same house). Would strongly recommend to others.

Best place to take your pet if you want great service friendly folks who actually care about your furry friend.
