My kitten has been having tummy issues so I made an appointment to get her checked out. The receptionists were so friendly and welcoming, we laughed and small talked. Got to the back and the vet tech was nice, professional and knowledgeable. Now the Veterinarian was AMAZING. He explained everything easily and was very informative. I felt like he touched based on everything that I needed to know. Defiantly will be back.

Over the years, my dogs have seen Dr. Chambless, Dr. Anderson, and Dr. Nix (now retired), all who have been AMAZING with my babies. Dr. Chambless in particular is so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I always appreciate him answering my wide spectrum of health questions and he always has great suggestions. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences brining my dogs to VCA Forney.

I took my chihuahua her last week to be cremated since I've had her for 14 years I wanted her to be with me always. They charged 140.00 said it would be a week. Well its been over a week and my daughter called to flow up. Today they tell me it was their fault they tagged her wrong and she was cremated with other dogs and was in a mass burial. I'm beyond upset. Someone needs to lose their job. What if this was a human being. Yeah they refunded me but now I'm sick to my stomach and more upset. Very unprofessional!

Dr. Chambless does a great job taking care of our dogs. He is always spot on with a diagnosis and his recommended treatments always work. The staff is friendly and our dogs seem to love everyone there. If our dogs, Max, Indy, and Taffy could write this review themselves, I know they would only have positive things to say.

Would rate 5 stars but the receptionist had an attitude and wasn't pleasant at all. Saw Dr. Haning Friday and she was fabulous and so was the Vet Tech! Dr. Haning explained what she suspected was wrong and gave me the information about surgery. My only suggestion is they get the referral process together and be on the same page. Dr. Hanging told me if I wanted to move forward with the referral, to call back and let them know which location I wanted the paperwork to go to. I called back yesterday (11-9) and the receptionist told me I needed to call the surgical center and have them email them paperwork to complete. I called DVSC North Dallas and their receptionist was confused and in turn I was confused...She said talk to the clinic manager. Emailed the VCA clinic and didn't get a reply so I called today (11-10) to ask again...Same receptionist told me what I needed to do and I corrected her per DVSC and she asked for my phone number and would pass it along to the Dr and abruptly hung up. She could have been having a bad day but my dog is my child and she's in pain...I'm trying to get her into the surgeon ASAP for a consult and surgery scheduled.

Highly highly recommend VCA. Brought our baby in for a check up after testing positive for heart worm. Dr. Chambless was absolutely professional and thorough in his explanation for treatment. He gave us so much hope, and it was also very affordable. Don’t look elsewhere, you won’t be disappointed!

We go to VCA for preventative care for our pets and they all love it there!! We currently have a very sick dog and they have hospitalized him, taken all my calls, and answered allllllll of my questions with kindness, compassion and true care for my dog. I’m so thankful for Dr. Anderson and the staff at VCA.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I was looking for a new vet for my 9-year-old yellow lab because our old one shut down due to COVID-19. I scheduled my appointment with them called twice to verify what I needed for yearly vaccines and how much it was going to be. The women over the phone told me both times it was going to be $127. When I showed up for my appointment they wanted to know what vaccines I needed. After the conversation, I was talked out of all but 2 yearly vaccines I usually get because she told me I don't need them. She talked really fast and wasn't clear. I am not a vet and wasn't sure about anything. I have never had a problem at our previous vet and they never tried to up-charge or tell me I didn't need vaccines that I have always gotten. VCA called 20 min later to tell me my bill was now $321. Without 2 of the vaccines I needed. To lower the price I had to only get 6 months' worth of heartworm prevention. Now I have to figure out a solution for the last 6 months of heartworm prevention and the other needed vaccines. They deliberately mislead me for pricing to get me in the door. I will never be back. Lesson learned.

Do not expect to get questions about your pet answered in timely manner. Staff does not seem to forward messages to Dr.. Front staff is rude and uncaring. Things not the same since Dr. NIX RETIRED. ????

This family always treats our four legged family members extremely well! I would not recommend another Vet in Forney. We love our VCA staff!

We moved to Forney 2 yrs ago and had been going to this clinic just for regular vaccines etc. My oldest dog of 15 yrs was changing her behavior and losing weight. We took her in and did tests, nothing was wrong. Today I called to make an appointment since she was getting worst and they were booked. So I scheduled for another day, until we found our dog outside barely walking. I called and there weren't able to squeeze us in.. the receptionist was cold and didn't even say sorry. So after a bit I called and explained I didn't know what to do in this situation.she said we have no appointments. I called another clinic who first hung said im sorry, we are booked but let me give you referrals for appts and creamation. I called the VCA back and was refused to talk w office manager and vet. I told the receptionist she shouldn't be answering the phones as she has no compassion and some people think of their pets as family. I would never recommend this vet or establishment If you want to deal w someone who actually understands customer care and the hurt in trying to make your dog comfortable during there passing.

They don’t even deserve 1 star. I been trying to call to speak to a manager and she is always out of the office. I took my cat for grooming and there groomer decided to do what she wanted not what I asked for. And then They charged my sister for something I tried calling about for months to be taken out of my account and every time they said they will. I asked for the manager cell phone and she said that she doesn’t have it. Seriously??

Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! They stayed late on more than one occasion to accommodate me. Great place to go for all vet related issues as well as medications and prescriptions!

as far as the doctor and the boarding goes great! Grooming not so much! I let them groom my sheltie twice and both times it looks like my dog was scalped! I specifically left instructions not to cut his hair short, wrote it down on the paper when I checked him in. Needless to say, when I picked him up, he had a terrible trim! I'm sorry I meant cut! I was told the manager would call me today. I have not heard from anyone in regards to the grooming of my dog. The rating is for the groomer!

Update: Practice manager contacted me and apologized, profusely, for the miscommunication. They provided a complimentary appointment to correct the issues addressed below. They've earned a customer for life! Friendly Staff, unfortunately communication is less than stellar and bordering on deceptive. Transferred from another vet who always included heart worm test, lab work and vaccinations as part of the annual exam. I assumed a wellness exam would include all the same items, at Forney Animal Hospital. Well, you know what happens when we assume. A week after the exam, I received an e-mail stating that my dog was due for a heart worm test. When I received the e-mail , I was sure it was just a mistake or automatically generated email. I called and asked if the heart worm test is not part of their annual exam and was told that it typically is, but their notes showed that I declined it and said that I would come back later for blood work and tests...which I 100% DID NOT. The employee, on the phone, quoted that it would be another $85 plus lab fees to come back and have a heart worm test administered. My previous vet is in Rockwall and not as convenient, but the communication and care were always stellar...so it will be worth the drive in the future to know that my baby is well cared for and that I'm well informed of the care he is getting.

I recently had to do the unthinkable and have our dog of eighteen and half years put down. First I should say that this is not our normal vet. Our vet happened to be on vacation when our dog fell ill. I dealt with them for a week total during this process. Between the initial visit, picking up meds and ultimately putting our dog down. Through the entire process they were nothing but compassionate, attentive and respectful. When we are ready for another dog we will happily be returning to them.

What a great vet office! We take our dogs and cat here and they have always been quick, communicative, and affordable. My cat is a little needy and can't be put in a carrier. On multiple occasions they have set up a room for me and have come out to my car to get me and my cat for our appointment so I can walk him straight in. Above and beyond service!

I’m not going to express even how upset this place made my wife with our dogs. Way over priced and they try to over vaccinate your animals. This place needs to stop overcharging for the simplest things. Do yourself a favor, read up on how many times you should vaccinate your dog before even coming here. Over vaccinations can kill your pet. It’s a fact. Stay away!

Outstanding and caring animal treatment. A little pricey, but doctors and faculty are attentive, caring and genuinely care about your pets.

We own 2 labs, 1 American bulldog,& 1 Maltese. The DR.'s here are VERY knowlegable, friendly & REALLY CARE! THE staff is always helpful, friendly & awesome! The Facility is always VERY CLEAN! They performed Emergency surgery on my lab when he cut his side open on my trailer, saving his life! They also performed Emergency surgery on my American Bulldog when she swallowed my kids stuffed animal whole, saving her life! Dr. Nix is incredibly awesome! We & the dogs LOVE HER! But so are all the doctors and staff here. They always call and check on are dogs after any procedure and send postcards and email reminders when shots are due. I highly recommend this place for ANY/ALL your pets needs!
