This was a surprising small facility. They didn't have many dogs available for adoption, which I suppose is a good thing? We weren't allowed to take our prospective family member out for a walk- we were just in a small room like a play pen. Everyone was very friendly! I hope some day they will have an outdoor space for meeting your potential family member so they can be a bit more relaxed/natural.

The staff is extremely rude. The front desk woman didn’t greet us or speak to us at all, she just stayed seated and did not help us. There was a woman with brown hair in a ponytail who greeted us and seemed nice at first, but was quickly revealed to be rude. We asked a simple question about the dogs up front and she responded with hostility. After that, we walked around and she monitored us from afar. Constantly watching us from a distance as if she was suspicious of us or something. At one point we went to the dogs outside because the woman told us there were more dogs out there. We were looking at them, and one person in my group went to touch one. The woman came out and yelled at us not to touch them since they’re sick. That is understandable to be upset, but she was the one who directed us out there and didn’t tell us beforehand and there were no signs. Afterwards, we went to see more dogs indoors and I could see the woman still watching us through the windows. I felt extremely uncomfortable the entire time and felt as if we were no longer wanted. I could see the woman speaking with someone and she pointed at us, then that person came to us and asked us if we needed any help. When we responded no and we didn’t have any questions, the person said “Oh okay. Well have a nice day.” At that point I not only no longer wanted to be there, but understood that they didn’t want us there either. The entire experience was uncomfortable, hostile, and confusing. I understand that one of the members of my group had broken a rule, but that rule was not brought to our attention at all, and the rudeness started before that incident occurred.

Kind people. My poor kitty peed on their floor and when I told them that she was scared they just waved me away. Thank you ☺️. I paid in advance to get our cat s spayed and neutered and they are so back logged that they still haven't called me to come in and get it done! Meanwhile Girly cat has had 8 more kittens in our house and the landlord wants 200 dollars for deposit for all the cats in the house and I don't have it by the first of the year I am getting kicked out of here!

Really saddened to see how the staff interacts with people trying to adopt a pet. we looked through a window labeled "new mom in action" and when we looked through the window a women walked over and snapped "get away from the window we could interrupt" just very rude! no please or thank you, just rudeness. When in reality why wouldn't you block the window and not post "new mom" signs if you didn't want people to see the néw puppies. All that secondary to how incredibly rude we were treated. I thought the purpose of this place was to find forever homes for these fur babies. so sad

I was extremely disappointed in this place. I found a kitten in need of medical attention out back of my work. So as soon as they opened I was there to try and get the poor little one some help. Which humane society's I usually trust. When I went in to try and help this little one I was asked if I had an appointment. Of course I didn't I had no idea that I had to have one. The lady at the front wouldn't help at all. Saying they only do things by appointment. I get that but this kitten was in need of immediate medical attention. Instead I was given a list of rescues in the area which no one answered or there was no phone number. I understand they have procedures and what not but to turn away a helpless kitten on deaths door because of not having an appointment is not right.

We have adopted two furry babies from here and the staff seem nice and helpful. We also drop off donations for the animals here. They have a cute donation box inside by the door to the left, where you just drop off and go if you like.

Very rude and judge mental, the ladies that work there. Idk if it’s because I look young ? I’m 30. But they were very discouraging of me getting a cat. And then she finally just said I am going to refuse the adoption to you because I have a 7 yr old child, I’m stay at home, work from home mom. Trash.

Do not donate to this place. Unlike most humane societies I donated to for decades this one is useless and the process to surrender an animal along with the cost is way to high. Just give the animal to the local pound and save yourself lots of time and headache of dealing with this useless group.

I found a stray kitten. Tame but ribs showing, desperately trying to attach itself to a human. I called Gulf Coast Humane Society. Was told by appt only, see website for details. $35 fee, medical testing, "behavioral testing", and if it's a stray call animal control. What the hell they good for?? I just wanted to help a damn kitten.

I went to look for a dog and I found a cat outside in the parking lot and I was concerned for the safety of the cat so I called inside and they said I needed an appointment to bring it in and it would be more then an hour and basically they didn't care about it so how cruel is that to a animal we will never donate to them again. All it would have taken was get off their butt for five minutes and stop sitting there flapping there gums

Took my cat to get her shots in January at the low cost clinic and one of the vet practitioners was extremely rude to the animals. I had scheduled my cat to be spayed and when the time came they charged me twice because they couldn't find any records of my previous visit. Which is likely because the clinic events are badly managed. I was able to get a refund. Fast forward to May I'm trying to get records showing that she got her shots but yet again they can't seem to find my info. I sent an email a week ago, no response. I called yesterday and was told they'd call me back but never did. I rarely if ever get upset with service, but this place was just extremely unorganized and lacked communication skills. If you want to avoid unnecessary problems go to literally any other shelter/clinic

This place is a joke. The people are very friendly don't get me wrong. The pets are beautiful. I was ready to adopt, thought I found the right pet, then was told the price would be about $175.00 possibly more because of the size of the pet. Are you serious??? Its not like you are over run with adoptees. Thank you for your words, however all adoption agencies give those services and don't have those fees, a good home should be what's important not getting rich. I'm sure those how offer their services do it for free, most do.

Price is reasonable, idk why poeple expect free pets. Not the cleanest facility I've been to with poop and pee just sitting there. I'd say they do the minimum required in taking care of the pets but no more.

The Staff lied about not having seen my dog Carlos, and saying he was never there. When In fact they had adopted him out a few days earlier. Someone who promised she would be able to take care of our pup until we were back on our feet (our neighbor had it out for him simply because he was a bully breed, and kept calling animal control on him, just because of that simple fact. So we thought the safest thing to do, since we were still getting things ready to be able to move into our own home would be to have someone care for him, so our neighbor wouldn’t try to have him taken to the pound and killed) Dumped him at their doors, he was at Gulf Coast Humane society for a few months, and that whole time the person who promised to care for our pup kept telling us he was doing great with her (which was a lie, cause she dumped him). When she stopped all communication, we went over there and Carlos was nowhere to be seen, and she became hostile. Not even telling us what she did with him or if he was ok. We had searched for several months going to shelters on multiple occasions to see if he was there. Then finally after 11 months a kind soul who had seen our posts showed us that Gulf Coast Humane Society had adopted him out. It was a whole ordeal. And yes I know it was stupid of us to entrust our pup to someone else, while we were going through things, but we were desperate cause our neighbor hated him, and wanted him dead. And we had no one else to turn to...

Adopted my malshi 6 years ago. This was my 2nd try to adopt, and it was a great experience, unlike Peewee's. I recommend this place.
