Took my dog in for a couple of issues and everything was fine, but the cost was very expensive. On the positive side, the clinic does give you an estimate before doing anything. I get the estimate, declined what I did not want to have done, and checking out get the bill was close to what I expected as the estimate cannot tell you exact charges for meds. At checkout, the office person told me the vet wanted to see me dog in 2 weeks for a free recheck. Made the appointment. Two weeks later, I take my dog in for the recheck. I get into the room (about 45 minutes after my appointment time) and the vet tech asks the usual questions. She then proceeds to hand me an estimate of that day’s charges to sign. I take it, give it a look, and there is a $26 charge. Say what? This is supposed to be a free recheck. It was for the vet to see my dog. I gladly walked out of the office and have no plans to return. Of note, this is being written a week after my appointment. I mention this because I see a lot of the sorry you are unhappy, please call our office posts in reply to negative reviews. If they were so anxious to help, someone would have called me in the last week. A patient leaves unexpectedly and no one asks what happened. The vet tech knew exactly why I left.

Took my 177lb Great Dane to get his teeth cleaned. While under sedation, the Doctor was kind enough to call and recommend other procedures that we could get out the way while under. Great suggestions and great service. The whole team was awesome today and strong ????. And to top it off, the pricing was on point. We've been taking our dogs here for over 4 years and we see good improvements going on here. Thanks Everyone at AHPI. "FAT MIKE" ???? is a lot better now. And his teeth are pearly white. ????????????

they were able to get us in- with a last minute phone call. our baby wasnt acting like herself. they were super sweet and were patient with her. leia even tried to go back in to the area with them again after the door closed. which shows she was fine with them ????????????????

The vets and the staff are knowledgeable, professional and provide excellent customer service. I've rescued animals for the past 30 years. I've been to several vets in several locations here and other states. I will tell you, I'm very impressed and highly recommend the vets and the staff. I certainly trust them with my fur kids.

Best service for my cat Ollie! They attended to him immediately and treated us very professional and kindly. Staff and Doctor R. are the best I've met in years. Will continue with them and by God they are affordable considering all that was provided (alot). Thank you!

I had a very negative experience. It seems the quality of service has plummeted since the business was sold to the new owners. The veterinarian on duty was was an hour and a half late for my appointment and argued with me about the age of my pet when he finally showed up. Additionally, the receptionist on duty billed me for medications and lab tests that I never received. When I called back to to discuss the issues, she promised to update my bill, but charged the full amount to my credit card instead. They can defend their inadequacies with my credit card company after I contest the charges and the BBB after I file a complaint. From now on, I am taking my pets elsewhere.

I’ve called multiple times to ask follow up questions after my dogs first appt. I’ve have not gotten a call back. If I do get ahold of someone they put me on hold for awhile and then it sends me to voicemail. Honestly, I think it’s a bit sketchy. They didn’t even let me be in the room while they “treated” my dog. Also said, there’s nothing they can do for or advise me on with my dogs hot spots. I just moved to TX so know nothing about them, and my dog is suffering. Furthermore, I don’t even feel they did a wellness exam. I wouldn’t know since they took her away from me. They also gave me a quote on the rattle snake vaccine, I agreed to it, then later said ohh she needs the booster…that costs extra and isn’t included. Not returning, and I don’t recommend them. Not happy.

I appreciate having a vet on the Island since my dogs don’t love the car ride. They were responsive accommodating and upfront about my coats and gave me options. I really appreciated the Vet Tech, Alli, taking time to explain things. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, kind and patient.

We are from out of town. I made an appointment on line because my dog was lethargic and had nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. I was worried about dehydration. I was told the doctor was about to go to lunch and couldn’t see her and didn’t have time when he/she got back. Seems to me that if you don’t care about animals don’t be a vet. The reception stated the on line form doesn’t “really” make an appointment and “one of the girls missed it” why have a schedule an appointment form on line if it doesn’t actually schedule an appointment. Ridiculous

A little pricey, but it's on the Island. Whaddaya expect? They treat our dog well. It takes forever (not really forever, but you get the point) to schedule dental care. That said, they're pretty flexible about spontaneous drop offs for things like nails, baths and vaccinations. When we had to say farewell to our beloved friend 2 years ago, we were given all the time we needed to say goodbye. Staff was exceptionally kind and patient.

Wish I could rate lower. The Vet in veterinary doctor us never there. My dog had surgery. They provudex/ charged for a cone that was too small. We asked for larger one and were told they didn't have. Had to spend more $$ on one at pet smart. Now we are 4 days post- op and looks like the surgical site (left eye) is infected. Called to get care and it's Friday at noon. No Doc til Monday Morning. So....we were referred to vet ER. Will NOT go back and do not recommend. Fast forward a couple years. I sat next to 2 employees (in company uniform) while at the local nail salon. These two openly bashed more than one pet owner/customer by name while in this public place getting pedicures.

Honestly I’m shocked this place has so many good reviews. I waited 45 min for my dog to be seen by the vet. They make you wait in these small rooms that don’t even have chairs. The vet “examined” my dog outside of the room. I have no idea how thorough the exam was because they don’t even look at your dog in front of you. No opportunity to ask questions as they examine. The vet breezed in told me she recommend a $350 treatment for my dog including a $60 shampoo that I already told them twice I was using. They stepped out to grab an itemized list of what each treatment costs and by the time I received the list she was already in another room so I was unable to ask any further questions. I have never been to a place that made it so obvious they only wanted a paycheck. Also they charge an excessive amount over the average for their medications. I paid $38 for 10 cefpodoxime tablets that I can buy on Chewy.com for $11. I understand everyone needs to make money but this is NOT a business I would ever give my money to again.

Had my two dogs vaccinated and one spayed through Animal Hospital of Padre Island. They were amazing, friendly, and my fur babies were very well taken care of. Will recommend them to everyone I know! Thank you AHoPI!!!

Always love our experience at this office! The staff is so sweet and they genuinely care about your animals. They take such great care of our two rescue cats and our newest puppy. We are so glad they are right here and able to care for our animals on the island!

I had just adopted a puppy and drove her home from Bowie. One of my former vet Dr. Katherine Dietman recommended Dr. Tristan. I had just gotten home yesterday afternoon. I called the office, and Now got me in right away this am at 8:30. The lady got me right into a room. We were in, and out in about an hour, with tests results and all. They answered all of my questions, gave me a starter kit for Harley(puppy), and gave me a follow up for the next round of shots. I saw Dr. Wigget (sorry if I spelled it wrong), she was great! I spoke with Noe about bringing my Eclectus parrot in to see Dr. Tristan in the future. Holley( Eclectus) has a vet here on Corpus, but the wait in his office is very long, and he charges the same for an initial office visit, as for a follow up nail trim. My experience front to back was great! I am additionally grateful and impressed that's your staff did not make my puppy cry! ????????

We are visiting from out-of-town and our dog got sick in the middle of the night. I called first thing in the morning and they got us in right away. Very good care by all staff—and our dog is much better quickly.

Expenses were presented up front. Agreed on a price. When i returned, prices had increased due to additional shots. Anything additional should require a phone call to owner for confirmation. In additional, got animal microchipped for $40. When trying to register animal, website required an additional $20. This fee should have been discussed or included from vet. Shady business practice here. Doesn’t give me the confidence they wont try something similar in future.

Very professional. Our doggies love going to see Doc Christi. We always get good, solid information. Her advice during the years has given us comfort in enjoying our pets. Also appreciate Ashley for her kindness with our doggies. Our boxer knows her name and gives her the big wiggle. Thanks for all your help.

Staff and vet was very nice they couldn’t get a good fecal sample for her worms so they gave me medicine anyway and didn’t charge me, gave me a free bad of good dog food and was very nice the vet tech helped me take everything to my car cause i had my hands full with my large puppy!! I will deff be going back
