Dowlen Road Vet Center Beaumont, Texas

I made an appointment for my dog 2 weeks prior for 9/25 at 9:30 am. Since I work full time and live 30 minutes away I am only available Saturday. I received a text the day before on Friday, 9/24 to confirm my appointment for the next day...in which I did. I show up to Dowlen Road vet on 9/25 at 9:30 for my dogs appointment. The lady at the front was very rude and said I’m not in the system for that day and my appointment was for 10/9..... I showed her the confirmation text that I received and she said well you’re not in here.... and went to check with the vet I guess to see if they could squeeze my dog in. It was just his yearly shots....nothing crazy. She comes back after about 5 minutes and says sorry we can’t take you but you can wait.... it’ll be a while.... they had no one waiting and one person signing in with their little dog. I wasn’t going to spend my whole entire morning at the vet so I told her I can’t wait and also to cancel the appointment they had for me. I won’t be using them again. Their customer service was awful, their prices have gone up significantly and they didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience.

Took our dog to for boarding for a week while on vacation. We brought our own food for her. Went to pick her up and the clerk didn’t know how to use the computer properly and so we waited, they could have had this ready when we came to pick her up! My dog also received her shots update! We where not told that she should have had a kennel cough shot a month before boarding to set affective! We had to bring her back 3 days later! We called the morning before we drove back to Beaumont only to be told we didn’t have to bring the dog back, they couldn’t find her records of being boarded, they where rude, then told me she had a appointment for the next day we where never told about! Over all she has welps all over her swelling and after a week is just now getting used to us again! Over staffed with to many cooks in the kitchen! They need an experienced office manager! Serious etiquette training for their guests! Will NEVER return to such a confusing place. DONT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!

Called this morning 15 mins before they closed . Today is saturday... i didn’t realize it was 15 minutes before they closed , my dwarf hamster who i’ve had for 2+ years sweetest hamster i’ve ever owned had blood all in her cage . i think it’s a UTI , i freaked out and was looking for a vet who does exotic pets . the lady on the phone said “Mam we close in 15 mins .. your gonna have to call some place else” . i live in beaumont the nearest place besides them is KATY TX or HOUSTON and i called and i would be changed 190$ just for a consultation. i’m currently here crying with her laying on my chest and i guess if she’s still alive on monday i will take her to this place even tho whoever answered the phone was RUDE .

Most of the workers and work done is great. Only complaint is the receptionist is rude.

Been coming here for years, called today & was rudely told it would take weeks to get an appointment! I explained it was a bit of an emergency and situation can’t wait weeks ????‍♀️ I was told unless my dog was hit by a car or something, it’s not an emergency! Well Beaumont West Animal Care thought so and squeezed me in tomorrow(transferred all records over to them) Will never come back here! Heard they are switching management but no excuse..

Owners wife and manager need a lesson on professionalism. They are what is wrong with this world. A little compassion goes a long way! Karma sucks though

We have been bringing Naya here since she was a puppy. She got her spay done here, too (which healed very quickly and was a fair price!). Most importantly, the vet techs/staff are incredibly kind and patient with my dog, who is a little wimpy. They take the time to soothe the pup and allowed us to be close as they administered the vaccines! We are moving so unfortunately this would be our last visit, but Dowlen Road Vet Center has certainly set high expectations for our next vet :-)

Since the new take over getting an appointment is HARD, at one point (a year go) it was pretty easy getting seen to see someone. Maybe they need extra hands.

Travelled from NY to Houston to breed my baby girl but due to the power outage had to travel to Beaumont for a motel room so I didnt have to sleep in my car another night after hanging around during her very prolonged period of 23 day proestrus. Sure she was close or past lh surge I had to find a vet to perform a progesterone test asap in order not to miss ovulation but extremely anxious because she does not like getting stuck with needles.... I chose Dowlen Road vet online because of the great reviews and was so very lucky that not only could they accommodate me almost immediately but that they did indeed live up to their 5* online reputation.... these, mostly ladies, were AMAZING wrangling my wild child, taking the struggles of my anxiety ridden pet in their stride. I can sincerely commit to online history that this veterinary practice has the very BEST veterinarian staff and human beings. They know their stuff, and they are kind and compassionate. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Denver is my everything and she couldnt have been in better hands!! I wish I lived closer to bring her here for her general vet needs...

I don’t normally go here but not many places in the area take hamsters, they were actually able to take my dwarf hamster and helped her eye. I am very grateful for that as she is 4 years old and means a lot to me! Thank you!

EDIT: they were also amazing with my chameleon. They aren't exotic pet vets but definitely great for check ups and can call and get info from a great vet in Houston. Mine just needed a fecal test and exam and I definitely recommend for that. Great prices and staff, I've had 3 of my dogs neutered and spayed there
