Does not have a very big sign next to the road. Dirt/gravel path in the woods. Be sure to donate to them ♥︎

I have believed in this organization for many years and monetarily support monthly until today. I took a human friendly animal in today for help with two broken legs. He was 5 months old. Instead of trying to splint him or help him at all he was immediately put down. I understand the legs were broken but this guy made it 3 days in the wild to get back to us and I handed him over for slaughter instead of help. I could have put him down humanely too without driving 2 hours and he trusted us. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to touch our loss. Never again. Kendalia is our new rescue.

I am a Wildlife Rehabber and they are who I refer people to if I am unavailable or unable help that type of animal. They are amazing and I work closely with them. Bless you all and thank you for all your help.

The driveway is a little hard to see and they don't unlock the gate until they open at 9am, but the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. So happy that they could take care of the baby skunk we brought them.

I love these people. I knew there was an SPCA but I never knew there was a rescue place for the wild life. I found a tiny possum cold, shivering, no mom and of course no food. I was afraid that the cats were going to eat him and my friends were going to kill it and they asked me to kill it and I was like noooo way. I called this rescue center and asked if they take baby possums and they said yes. I am so glad that I was able to give this lil guy a chance to grow up and live. To the wildlife staff, thank you all so much for having such a place like this and I was wondering if that any person reading my post wouldn't mind donating to this place because ever little bit helps and these wild animals need a fair chance to survive as well. I chipped in, It would be nice to see you chip in too. Let me show you a picture of this little guy. I wish I could have kept it but it really belongs in the wild. This little guy is safe now thanks to the wildlife rescue center........ ❤️❤️❤️????????????

A sanctuary for wildlife in Austin minutes from downtown. Entrance is a bit easy to miss, (dirt road covered by brush), so use the church nextdoor as reference. If you're coming from the direction of I-35, it will be the entrance right before the church, so keep an eye out! Easy drop off process (wait outside and fill in one of the drop off forms on the picnic table). Have volunteer programs available as well. Dropped off a baby Barn Swallow and am hopeful that it'll be released into the wild with proper care. To the staff/ volunteers, I named him Barney the Barn Swallow ????

They took in a baby bird we found that had fallen out of a tree. They have a wish list on Amazon so I purchased some items for them. They can always use any help possible.

I missed the entrance but called them about it and they helped me find it. Turned in a baby bird that fell from its nest. So glad to have found AWR and glad to have them around saving animals.

Found an abandoned baby opossum and they took it in with open arms. Such an adorable creature, happy it will live to experience adulthood. This is a life saving service I'm grateful exists.
