Safari Pet Resort Murfreesboro, Tennessee

We were just disappointed with the service that was provided to our pets when we boarded them this time. We previously boarded our lab here (summer of 2020) and aside from her getting an ear infection (we think from water getting in her ear when she was groomed, but accidents happen), we were happy with the quality of service provided. Due to the price of boarding our pets here, we chose a different boarding facility over on Thompson which was cheaper, for our last trip, and concluded that you get what you pay for after we picked up our dogs. Due to that horrible experience, we returned to Safari pet resort to board our dogs this time. Initially things started out ok, but we were unable to see our dogs on the web cams (they had one on one play times scheduled) so I called to see what times they were going to be out and get an update. So due to the holiday (limited hours) and my number being entered incorrectly into the system, I never received a call back/update. Ok, accidents happen- not a big deal, but we still would have liked to have seen our dogs while we were away. I even verbalized my concern to the scheduling supervisor, Miya, while I was there to pick up our dogs and told her about my previous experience at the other facility. I closed out the bill and waited for them to bring out our dogs. A little over 20min later they bring out our older dog. Not going to lie, I was a little suspicious. It’s never taken that long to get our dog. Then about 10 min later they bring out our other dog after Myia said that they were washing some mud off her paws from playing. She came out reeking of doggy cologne and urine. Her white fur was also stained a lovely shade of light yellow on her paws, back of her legs, chest, hind quarters, and tail. I ended up leaving a message to Myia on the way home since I just could not believe, for the amount of money we paid to board them here, our one dog was returned to me in almost the same condition as the other facility. This is exactly why we wanted to see them on the cameras. Why should we pay triple the price then what the other facility charged for the same treatment....... or mistreatment? Breaks my heart for them. They deserve better which is why we chose to pay more.

My husband and I dropped our two fur babies off for a week and I cannot say enough great things about safari pet resort! From the initial call to the moment of pick up they were extremely professional and put us at ease! I came by to tour the place prior to boarding our babies and they were wonderful from the beginning. The place is well kept and you can tell they really love the animals there! It is kind of pricey because we had two dogs and they were there for a week but we felt it was worth it. Just be aware that if you book during certain times of the year you have to add packages which tack on an additional charge per dog- but they explain everything up front. You can also check on them through their online web cams so you can watch them play! The staff here is absolutely wonderful. We will be using them from now on!

We have been bringing our boy Llewy Lowrider to Safari for day camp since he was old enough to go. Llewy is a fetch fanatic and the staff always makes time to throw toys for him. He loves it there and everyone makes us feel special. I can’t recommend Safari Pet Resort highly enough!????♥️

I always feel comfortable when I drop my cat off for boarding! This place is awesome! When I’m vacationing, I feel like my cat is vacationing too! ????

My shihtzu has been going to the Safari for 3 years! From her first hair cut, doggy socializing at day care, to her first boarding stay a year ago, there is absolutely nowhere else I trust to take my baby. I cannot brag enough about the Safari, their services, and staff. I regularly used the doggy day care program when I lived in Murfreesboro. My baby would be picked up at my doorstep in the morning so I could make it to work without having to leave extra early to get her there and she would be dropped back off to me at the end of the day. That’s the definition of top notch service for a very reasonable fee. I love the added touch of always getting a report card for Lily’s activity during her visits which always reassures me she is loved and enjoying her time being here. I always feel that my baby is in excellent hands and she comes out with a smile, happy, and goes straight to sleep in the car. Some of the same staff has been here since her first visit. Ally at the front desk is super nice and helpful. She always makes me feel like my requests are listened to and gives me peace of mind with any worries I have- same for anyone I’ve talked to over the phone when scheduling things as well! You can tell the people who work here have a passion for animals and care about the pets they interact with daily and that is super important to me! Laney has been Lily’s regular groomer for a while now and always makes sure I’m comfortable with her style and stays in communication with me about Lily’s visit. As another review stated, I wish there was another location in Nashville as long as the integrity remained the same. Since moving away from Murfreesboro I have a huge issue with trying to find another facility that even comes close to this business in comparison and have not found another place I would trust to leave my baby during the day or otherwise.

My dog Baddie had her 1st overnight stay and appeared so happy and was tired the next day from so much fun. She needed this and the staff was so nice when we came in and understanding that it was my first time away from my baby. Thank you Pet Safari

Very old looking, smelled awful, small facility. Seemed like adequate staff who were friendly and knowledgeable. Would not leave my pet there.

Absolutely LOVE Safari Pet Resort! I trust them 100% with my dog babies. They care, the atmosphere is family comfortable, my dogs are happy and tired when I pick them up. I highly recommend to all pet owner.

They managed to fully and beautifully groom my little bubs. He was a stray and I’ve had such trauma trying to trim him and do his nails, I was thrilled they got him so spiffy looking.

We have used Safari for boarding, grooming and Day care for almost nine years for our ShihTzu, AnnaBelle. It is so easy to make a phone appointment and I receive a confirmation a few days before her appointment. The front staff is always friendly and welcoming. Margaret has always groomed our baby with excellent results. Belle has some health issues and Margaret always took the time to make her comfortable. And the boarding staff always goes a step above to make sure that she feels comfortable and safe while there. I have looked at other options for boarding to save on the cost and have decided that Safari is the ONLY place to leave my AnnaBelle! Thank you for your care.

Scheduling is always messed up. Every time I make an appointment for my dog, they somehow DON’T actually schedule him so they try to squeeze him in, making it take way longer than it should. They also never call when your dog is finished getting a bath so YOU have to call them. Somehow he’s always magically “finishing up” when I finally call to check on him. If you bring up an issue, they really act like they don’t care at all. You would think they would do better for how much you pay. I am extremely disappointed with this place. Save your money & time by going somewhere else that actually cares about your animals.

Picked my dog up from daycare today and asked if his nail trim I had asked for had been done, it had not. Was a little unpleased it had not been done but Allie who was working behind the counter said if u have a minute or two I will do them. She did not have to go out of her way to do them at closing but she did. I am very thankful. My pup loves this place and the people, I will continue to do business with them. Thanks again Allie!!

This place is overpriced and never took good care of my dog. He frequently came home limping and extremely thirsty. The check in/check out process takes forever. They clearly spend more on looks than actually taking care of the animals

My 19-year old pet has NEVER been to a grooming appointment by himself and having recently moved here from another state, I was anxious, to say the least! The entire staff was welcoming, kind, and exceeded every single expectation I had PLUS put my pet first. Thank you! We will definitely keep coming back!

I applied for this place right before Me and my dog had to start living in my car,My application was denied even though the vacancy is still available and when I called about boarding she rushed me off the phone to let me know they were full

Great place to take our pets. Grooming was very good. All the people who work there was very friendly. Overall a good place.

I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment and was the next to be served. I waited 10 more minutes when someone else walked in with their dog. They took her dog before me! Then I had an issue providing my dogs records for them, even tho I had called my vet. They couldn't care less. All the employees were very young and seemed indifferent to me. On top of which NO ONE was wearing a mask!!! I left. Will NOT EVER go back

They did an amazing Job with my Anxiety ridden brother aka my mom's dog. He was so handsome and he was just prancing around.we will be back. Thank you Jodie you did an amazing job.

Brought my dog in for grooming and was told they needed an updated vaccination when we arrived. This was not told to me prior to my visit, I’ve been bringing my dogs here for over 15 years. Needless to say I’ll be going elsewhere for grooming, and will not return or recommend to anyone else.

My puppies Rocky and Bullwinkle love going to Safari Pet Resort. They treat my boys with care. Very friendly staff.

From our first puppy to now our 3rd - we have spent the last 10 years using Safari for grooming, day camps, and over night stays! We have a 9 year old Pomeranian, 4 year old cockapoo, and a 1 year old husky! Each of them different sizes - different personalities... but one thing they have in common is their LOVE for Safari! Over night stays leave us comforted and our puppies thrilled! Day camps have us thankful for full days of play for our fur babies while we are at work. The grooming?! Our babies never look more fluffy then after their baths & cuts at Safari! I’ve never met a group of staff that has cared for my fur babies as much as me - except with the incredibly thoughtful & hardworking staff at Safari! For the past 10 years we have had our dogs groomed and cared for at Safari. We will continue to give them our business because of their HANDS DOWN - five star customer service, facility, and love for animals. Stop searching for a place to call home away from home for your fur child. Safari is it! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I just love the care my pet received and they do a fantastic job grooming him.

Staff is very attentive and friendly ! They treat all the four legged fur babies like family . I had both my pups stay for 3 days and I'm glad to have had them in good hands. I will be back for future stays or day care soon !

As a Nashville Native who recently moved to this area, I was very nervous enrolling my pup at a new facility. Nashville does not have anything comparable to Safari! (Please open a location here, the Nashvillians need good quality day care!!). The in-ground pool should say enough! This place is hands down awesome! From the staff greeting my dog by HER name upon arrival to providing a free cup pup on check out is impressive. My pup can go weeks without visiting and the staff still remember her! The only recommendation I would make is opening at 6am versus 7am for the healthcare workers & nurses who have to be at work by 6:30am. My pup would be there 5 days a week if I could get her there on time to make it to work. I have also used the boarding services because doggy day camp was so impressive. Willow did not want to leave! This is her second home where she can hang out with her friends, have sleep overs, and be loved on by the staff. Thank you for designing a great concept for animal loving families!
