Everyone was very sweet and so helpful. We usually board our dogs at pet paradise but unfortunately they were booked. So we decided to try out this place. This was my first time boarding my dogs there and my dog got kennel cough. My dogs are fully vaccinated and they have never been sick . When we picked them up is when they started showing signs of kennel cough.

The check-in tech was very helpful and courteous, after that it was like a visit to a car dealership. We waited two hours for a diagnosis, we then received three estimates, each one increased $200.00-$300.00 dollars until we got there to pick her up and another $200.00 was added. The main reason for our visit was diagnostics, our local Vet does not have Ultrasound and I had to push them to perform the X-ray and Ultrasound. They advertise x-ray and ultrasound, they can do x-ray, so they say, we never got to see them and they said they couldn’t do an ultrasound. They recommended an overnight stay for the testing and treatment with no improvement in her condition. After 2 days in their facility, they recommended a specialist that they had consulted with and they sent us away with the wrong address, which leads me to believe they are not quite as connected as they claim to be. They told us it was an emergency situation and we should transfer her ASAP. I made arrangements to head that way within 15 minutes, called to let them know, we were on the way and would be there within an hour. When we got there our dog was not ready and the paperwork was not ready, further delaying our emergency. Our dog was not well when she left and we feel that the money we spent there was wasted. Another concern; they call themselves a Hospital and Luxury Pet Boarding facility, they have no one to check into pet well-being in their hospital or boarding areas from 5:30 pm to 7:00 am. That seems like a very long time for any animal to wait to relieve themselves. In their defense they did tell us no one was checking the pets from closing to opening time, they reassured us that she would be fine. In hindsight I would never leave our pet in a situation like that again.

The family dogs were boarded here for 3 days while we traveled. 4.5 Stars (it doesn't all for the half star). The place is Huge and Nice, if planning to board one may consider going on a tour before the day of boarding. We had a rushed tour as the facility was filled with other pets for the weekend. For our small 19lb Terrier, she had a 24 hour live video luxury suite with viewing glass outdoors of the facility as well as the interior viewing glass to the hallway of the facility, a bed, and several rugs. Our bigger pet 67lbs, had an in and out suite and was able to go outside when he wanted not sure how often he went out no camera was offered with this suite. You can take any items from home for more comfort to your pet(s). In my opinion, cams should be offered with all suites. The only other thing I am not so excited about is they do not have personnel onsite 24 hours to take the dogs out. They have a one time potty break scheduled for after hours I believe is what it was. Our smaller pet uses the potty quite often and will use the bathroom inside if she can't access outside ????. Overall, the staff was friendly and most helpful with ensuring we knew all about the facility and how they operated. I think they have 3 veterinarians. We will use them again. Go check them out and let me know what You think. ~????Ciao

The staff is very professional and friendly. We recently moved to the area and are very happy that we chose this Vet for our four canines care and boarding.

I am Taylor Pierson's sister, I was the one that actually brought Oliver (the cat) into the Vet Office. Oliver was staying with us, my mother was out of town and I noticed he was having an eye issue, called my mother who then called this office and requested that I can bring him in. My mother had Taylor call the vet office before hand to let them know his history and at the time she told them that he needed an antibiotic ointment, as this has happened to him in the past and its the only thing that clears him up. When I got to the vet with Oliver I had Taylor on speaker phone talking with the vet, Taylor was insisting that Oliver be given antibiotic ointment as she knows her cat and knows what clears him up. The vet at this place insisted on these expensive anti viral drops. So I left there after spending $172 and had drops and oral antibiotics (no antibiotic ointment for the eye). This was on March 12th. On that Friday March 15th my mother drove Oliver back to Enterprise to Taylor because we were going out of town and wouldn't be able to administer the drops or oral antibiotics. Taylor continued to do what the vet at this place told her, drops. By Friday March 22nd, she knew he wasn't improving and took him into her local vet, which immediately did a eye die test, where they drop a small die in the eye and view under ultra violet light to determine if there is an ulcer on the cornea, apparently this is very standard procedure and told Taylor that this should have been done on the 12th, they would have seen the ulcer and administered antibiotic ointment to clear this up, but at this point the ulcer had almost completely over taken the cornea. They preformed immediate surgery to close the inner eye flap with a chance of saving his eye. Upon checking the eye yesterday realized by the time he was seen on the 22nd clearly this infection had spread too far and his cornea has ruptured. This vet is fine if your pet isn't sick, she would not take the advice from my sister about what the cat needed, wasn't even open to the option of an eye ointment (Taylor was on speaker phone and I heard the entire conversation with the vet). If your pet is sick and you don't feel comfortable with the diagnosis you get here, get a second opinion. I am more upset about how this cat suffered while we administered drops (that were doing no good) before getting a second opinion, as from everything I read this ulcer on the cornea is extremely painful for cats. I have attached a picture of Oliver after he had his inner eye lid surgery on the March 22nd, today he will have surgery to remove the eye completely and it all could have been prevented had the vet only taken the advice of the owner and given the ointment.

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT BOARD YOUR ANIMAL HERE! They will take full advantage of the fact you aren’t there and hike up the bill running all kinds of unnecessary tests. My husband (who is a military working dog handler/trainer and is extremely experienced in the matter) and I let the front staff know we were going out of the country on a cruise in June, and after checking in our dogs they asked what amount we would allow IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES. To that we replied $500. We also asked that they email us if needed since we wouldn’t be able to use cellular data. We have German Shepherds, and if you know anything about them, they can have horrible separation anxiety. We let the staff know this as well at check in. Of course, being kenneled and away from their parents is a stressful situation. One of our dogs had some diarrhea due to the stress which is totally normal. The staff took advantage of the fact we were out of the country without contacting us by the requested method, and used this to say that our dog was sick and needed tests run, no information on if he was okay or if it was serious. Once we pulled into a port where we had service a 2-3 days later, my husband had a voicemail from the vet. We immediately called them back and did NOT authorize any tests to be run because we knew there was nothing wrong with our dog and it was just stress. They also said that our dog was taking a long time to urinate. Um, yes. When he drinks a lot of water due to stress, he is going to have a lot of urine. That wasn’t out of the norm either because he will urinate that long at home and we let them know this as well. When they called and left a voicemail they just said that our dog was sick and needed tests run. They gave us no details in the voicemail and subsequent emails which of course left us extremely anxious instead of enjoying our vacation. Needless to say, all the tests came back normal and nothing was wrong with our dog. But good thing we paid $350 extra dollars to tell us what we already knew.

I use to work here in the Kennels, and will only board my fur baby here. Super clean, always prepared for emergencies, super attentive to your babies diet and attention needs. Dr. Mixon is an excellent vet, and her employees are just as dedicated and great at what they do.

I recently relocated to the Huntsville area from Connecticut where my family owns and operates a boarding facility with doggy daycare and grooming. Coming from the business myself, I am very pleased with the services provided to my dog at West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. The staff are friendly and patient with my anxiety about boarding my dog- and Tucker always returns well cared for. I LOVE the fact that all of the staff are trained in "Fear Free" training, which makes me feel much better about boarding my dog who has separation anxiety. And coming from New England, the prices are awesome!

Everyone at West Madison is great. They take care of my dog as if he was their own. They are always patient with my questions and requests for his care. My dog goes there for vet care as well as day care and boarding. When I pick him up, he is stress free which means to me that he has received alot of attention, caring and exercise. That is so important to me. They truly do treat us as family.

I hate to give one star, but this has been on my mind for awhile. When the female Dr. took over Dr Reid's practice, she promised she would be personable and be there for my pets. Well guess what, I haven't seen her face since she moved to the new place. Her staff are the only people I see. She reminds me of that "vet" on Hughes. I feel there is NO compassion, just in it for the money. I like to talk to the vet, not just the staff, even though its routine stuff. Her prices tripled and the compassion is not there, so I am looking for a new vet. It's sad, I dont even know her name.

Actually NO stars - I had to select 1 to post a review!!! Do Not Use This Vet - they stole from us. I sent my daughter to an appointment with our dog to get 2 shots in order to leave our dog in a kennel during the holidays. She came home with a 380.00 bill that I did not ok. They took advantage of a 17 yr. old with test, samples and shots that I (the owner) did not authorize.

I have taken my dog and cat here for years. My dog loves them, but I've never seen my cat hate a vet's office this much. Medical care is solid, but the upsells... Last visit was $1,000 to tell me there's nothing wrong with the dog or cat.

Dr. Mixon and Dr. Sherril are great with all our pups. They go out of their way to figure out the problem and always present us with all the options for treatment. The facility is always well kept and cleanly. Vet staff take excellent care of us and enjoy visiting even if we're just picking up food or meds.
