Dr. Racelis and his staff are kind, caring, and treat my fur babies with love and exceptional care. One of my dogs is very anxious when there and her nurse, Ms. Chelsi, is so patient and compassionate with my anxious one. Dr. Racelis has been our vet since moving to AL in 2013, and we are his fans!

Great Vet and here's why - When I call, they answer. When they say the Dr will call me back, she does. Helpful over the phone, even better in person. Great with my dog, empathetic. They remember her history. They make recommendations but aren't pushy at all. Dr O'Connor is fantastic! They listen to all the questions and answer patiently!

Absolutely love Best Friends! Bentley and I see Dr. O'Connor who is absolutely professional and helps me understand Bentley better. Very knowledgable and understanding. When Bentley wasn't doing so well they got me in immediately, Dr. O'Connor was out of town but we saw Dr Robert Racelis who is amazing as well. The techs took much care and attention to Bentley. They took so much care for him and Dr. Racelis helped me understand and know about Bentley's blood work etc. Highly recommend! They care so much for your pet. I know he is in great hands.

Had some very genuine interactions with the vet here. He seemed genuinely concerned about what the best plan of care was..and we really appreciated that. They often offer what they suggest but give options and include the cost with different options. Very helpful to make those important decisions about our pups. Many thanks for being awesome!!

Two of our kitties had ear troubles recently. In both instances, Dr. O'Conner and Amy have done a great job flushing their ears (despite their efforts to escape) They have done their best to calm our cats during the process and also have done a good job explaining the causes of the problems. We appreciate your care!

It was my first time taking my baby to Best Friends. The whole staff are so nice. Dr. O'Conner was amazing. She was so sweet and gentle to my sick, older fur baby. She and her assistant were great in giving me info and were so sympathetic in telling me the bad news. I would highly recommend this place.

We had an emergency with our cat. Our regular Vet did not have an opening. We called Best Friends Animal Hospital. They were able to see us within 2 hours. The care and attention they showed our cat was unprecedented. The Vet Tech and Dr. O'Connor took time with us, and Henry and explained what was going on. I think we have found a new Vet.

Hands-down the best veterinary practice in the area! I have several animals and have dealt with several vets. Dr. Racelis is professional, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. The office staff is polite, efficient, and gets you in and out quickly. Care and respect for the animals is paramount. I wish I could give 10 stars for this practice!

They were incredible!! We just moved to this area and I couldn’t figure out what was making my dog sick. Turns out he was stressed from moving! The vet was patient and understanding! She took her time with us to help figure what was going on with him!

I brought my two kitties to Best Friends last year for annual check up and vaccines. At the time we had just moved from Atlanta and were still new to Madison area, I checked Google reviews for animal hospitals and decided to give Best Friends a try. Till today I'm still very happy about my decision. Both of my kitties had health issues when we adopted them in 2018. One has had long time diarrhea and the other one with a watery eye and as we were told by their previous owners, the vets in Atlanta never found out reasons or cures for any of the problems. During their checkup, Dr O'Connor found out the kitty with diarrhea problem has many bad teeth at the back of her mouth therefore scheduled her for dental cleaning and teeth removal and also prescribed hydrolyzed protein food. Dr O'Connor also prescribed medicine for other kitty's watery eye. Ever since then my kitties have been doing so much better! This year's annual checkup was done by Dr Racelis. Both doctors are very very professional, very sweet and caring for animals. The nurses are all very sweet and loving. With them, I know my kitties are in good hands!❤️I can't thank them enough!
