Hixson Pet Wellness Center: Denise Jones D.V.M Hixson, Tennessee

My 16 year old little girl Ruby got very sick, I had taken her to another vet, they just couldn’t tell me what was wrong. Dr. Jones and her staff went above and beyond to diagnose her. She has Leukemia. Ruby is still with me and Dr. Jones has been her ANGEL. I’m so very glad that Holly told me about her. I thank God every day that I still have her in my life. But there will come a day when I will have to say goodbye. But this Mom Prays that I can have her for awhile longer. These young ladies are our Angels. We love them. ♥️????????

I had never even heard of this vet until a cousin told me that’s where she takes her dog. I had always used a different vet. Yesterday my yorkie was throwing up blood and I called my regular vet and they told me to come straight there. When I got there they wouldn’t take me in like they said they would right away. After waiting over an hour in my car I decided to call this place. They told me to come right on over and when I got there they took me right in. Very nice people and I really liked the vet I saw. She was so nice and explained everything that was going on with my yorkie and wasn’t in a rush like other vets are. I’m so glad I made that call. This will be the vet I use from now on.

I took my dog in for the first time this afternoon because she started having a food allergy flair up. I was dreading taking Trixie to the vet because she is extremely reactive to other animals and has a history of not loving new human friends. Hixson Pet Wellness took her entire history into consideration and it's the least stressful appointment Trixie has had at vet in a very long time. Jennie got us scheduled as their last appointment of the day to avoid any unnecessary contact with others, and was so considerate of Trixie's behavioral and medical history. Since she has food allergies, she couldn't be given treats, but Jennie got her a tennis ball (her favorite type of toy) to cut the tension and make it a positive, fun experience for Trixie. All of the staff and Dr. Jones were so patient with her and didn't even have to use any heavy restraints or a muzzle on her. They took such great care of my girl addressed every concern I had. We will definitely be returning for all of her future medical care! When they say "fear free" they mean it. I can't recommend them enough.

Last week was our first visit to The office. I have to admit I was a little anxious because of some past experiences we had at other vet offices. The vet tech and the doctor were absolutely outstanding. When one of our cats was a little on the ugly side, they handled him with ease and gentleness. I highly recommend them and I will not hesitate to refer anyone to them.

I was scared to have my dogs teeth cleaned because she had to be under anesthesia. They were so patient and professional with me because I had a lot of questions. They really walked me through the process and called while she was under to give me the choice in her care. I highly recommend their services.

I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic. I had my first appointment yesterday for my two very fearful and shy rescue kitties, and it was unlike any vet clinic I've ever been to before. First, I was able to get a same day appointment just for vaccinations and a checkup, which gave me confidence that if my kitties ever had an emergency, we'd be seen right away. Second, they have a separate "cat room" where we were immediately escorted with no wait at all. The cats were then allowed to wander around and relax before any poking and prodding began. In addition to allowing them some time to settle in, they also have feline pheromones around the office and on the table they use for inspecting the cats to help calm them during their visit. During the exam, the vet, Dr. Jones, and her vet technician, Jen, were extremely careful to give my kitties the best possible experience, with lots of praise, no manhandling, and resting periods between stressful parts of the exam. You could tell they sincerely love animals. And my favorite part as a neurotic pet mom, is that everyone there is SO knowledgeable. I asked 1,000 questions about vaccines, injection-based sarcomas, dental cleaning, and various other odds and ends, and the vet technician was aware of and able to answer all of my questions and concerns. Additionally, because we are considering adopting a Greyhound, I was pleased to find that Dr. Jones had quite a bit of knowledge about their special needs despite it having been a few years since she'd treated one. She answered all of my questions about greyhounds and then some! She even showed quite a bit of concern about me choosing the right dog for our household given the nature of my cats. It was by FAR the best experience I've ever had with a veterinarian, and they now have a lifelong new set of kitty patients (and a dog once we get one!). My kitties took less time to recover than they ever have from a vet visit before, and Jen even gave me a follow-up call the next day to ensure my kitties were doing well after their vaccinations. Oh, and one last thing. Their prices are extremely reasonable considering the level of expertise, treatment, and service you receive. I was looking for a highly competent vet with reasonable prices, and this is EXACTLY the place to come to if you'd like the same. I highly, highly recommend you bring your pets here. Over the years, I've been to many local vet clinics, and I can say with confidence that you won't find a better place in town!! Update 9/16/20: I continue to be SO impressed with Dr. Jones and this vet clinic. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, and I am particularly concerned about ensuring I do not over-vaccinate. Today I called with a question about whether they do titer antibody tests, and I was shocked when Dr. Jones herself got on the phone with me and spent several minutes describing the pros and cons and current recommendations as well as her own personal experiences in her many years of veterinary practice. They care about both the cost to you (let’s face it, pet care can be expensive), and they care greatly about the health of your pets. I cannot say enough good things here. This is the best vet clinic in town.

They are the best people I have ever met and they are so good with your love ones I recommend they are the best at what they do

My dog was given a vaccine there and got a serious infection. They tried to charge a $20 for Amoxicillin when I can get it for myself for a $1.00. Would never go back.

The staff is friendly and the veterinarian takes her time to explain the process and what's going on with your pet

I brought my kitty to see doctor jones today. Upon our arrival we were taken directly to an exam room and began discussing the issues with my fur baby. Their staff was amazing, hands down. The nurse took her time doing the initial exam and keeping my baby calm. Doctor Jones did the exam and sat on the floor with the nurse, my cat & I discussing treatment options for our issues. Very very knowledgeable, polite, gentle & accommodating! Before any tests were ran the nurse reviewed lab testing charges and any additional cost. Although our visit was boarderline costly, I’ll never take my pets anywhere else. Upon the end of our visit, we reviewed all we had talked about & when we should return. I’ve never been to such an in depth, friendly, welcoming clinic (for pets or people!) would recommend!!

So impressed with Dr. Jones and the staff at Hixson Pet Wellness Center. No waiting, and my dog and I got personal care and attention. The vet even called to check on him the next day! The prices were what I have paid to other providers in the past. Give them a try—especially if your dog is fearful or anxious—they schedule one appointment per time slot, so it is quiet and no one else is in the waiting room!

Hixson pet wellness center staff was absolutely amazing with my dog Jake. Jake is a bit on the aggressive side so they accommodated around that issue. They made both me and Jake feel very comfortable. Jake didn't even notice that his exam had started, heck I didn't even know. That's how good this place is. They were patient with jake and explained everything to me as they went along with the exam. I 100% will recommend Hixson pet wellness center to everyone.

I love Dr. Jones and i recommend anyone that can, use her as their primary vet. That being said... the staff rubs me the wrong way. I got a reminder for vaccines for my dog, Lars. I was asked if id like to make an appointment for him and when i said "not at this time" i heard a scoff. Dr. Jones more than makes up for it though so im giving 5 stars regardless.

All of the ladies here are awesome and very helpful. My baby girl had trouble after our appointment and Dr. Jones and Jennie stayed late to take a look at her. Not many vets would do that these days, most just tell you to go to the nearest pet ER. Prices are very reasonable, but being greeted by smiling faces and treated like friends is priceless.

Best vet every Staff is wonderful

I came in with a kitten I found this morning and didn’t really know what my options were. The staff immediately took us in and examined her. She got some medicine . They gave me great at home tops to keep up her health and were just absolutely amazing. Thank you guys so much !

They made our dog feel comfortable and loved during a wellness exam and multiple vaccines. He had no clue he was being poked and examined. It was a wonderful experience.

Staff is excellent! This was our second visit and it was great both times! It just feels a little more laid back, which was less stressful, but also professional. So glad I found this place!!

I have an 11 year old Chow Chow. As most know Chows are not the most friendly dog by nature. Taz had a stress free appointment and was eating treats very happily. Many Thanks!

I have taken my dog Bodhi to Dr Denise Jones since we first got him a year ago, and have only had wonderful experiences. The staff is friendly and knowlegable. They treat Bodhi like he's the best, cutest dog in the world (which, of course, I think he is!). We will definitely be sticking with this practice and would highly recommend to others.

The people here were very helpful. Everything went quickly, was priced great and they took really good care of my 3 kittens. Will definitely be returning for all future appointments.

Dr Jones is my favorite vet in this area. She cares for her patients and wants them to be comfortable.

I was able to get a same day appointment. The staff was amazing.

We had an emergency and they were able to squeeze us in and get our pup taken care of! Even though it was past closing we never felt that the quality of care was rushed or less than thorough. Take your animals to the vets of the Pet Wellness Center family! We’ve used a couple different branches of this vet and wouldn’t go anywhere else! And they won’t break your bank.

Dr. Jones, Jennie and Jeana are amazing. My baby received the best care while in their center. They truly saved her life. They were communicative, honest, and spot on with everything. They will be my primary going forward for all of my fur babies.
