The staff was incredibly friendly and helped us find & adopt our sweet little Obby (aka Bento)! We were given a private room to play and interact with him before making a decision. The process is super easy with just an application ahead of time. Our kitty was up-to-date on shots and micro-chipped as well. Awesome experience!

A lovely place with good people who will care for a momma cat and her kittens and find loving homes so they can live and be loved and taken CARE of.

Williamson County is an amazing place for animal adoption. They took great care to ensure my current dog and the dog I adopted were a good match . They also offered great advice for introducing a new animal into the home. Very impressed!!!!

Everyone was so friendly and caring towards us. They answered all our questions thoroughly. And we found a beautiful, loving forever pup in Sanibel. She is now named Stella Maye!! She is so loving and fill of energy, she has a little separation issue, so we may adopt another pup for companionship.

They allowed me to take a cat into a supervised room and it was the perfect way to get the cat comfortable with me and I have now had him for 4 years and he is the sweetest cat ever

I adopted my amazing Nash here. He’s a rescue pup that someone surrendered at 5 months. He’s been the light of my life! Everyone here is VERY kind and oh so helpful as to guide me and prepare me as he is the first doggie I ever adopt. Please adopt and don’t shop! There are already many terrific doggies out there that need a safe and happy home like my sweet Nash. You can tell they really have their hands full and have tremendous heart for what they do at Williamson County Animal Center!

We have adopted 2 adult dogs from the Williamson County Animal Shelter and these are my thoughts: 1)They have the best volunteers!! 2) Adult dogs are the BEST!! 3) Get the one that leans on you.

My parents got me my puppy from here. His original name was Muffin and we renamed Xōchi. He was microchipped and they provided his rabies shots. My puppers is very smart and has learned very fast. I know that’s not something they have control over but I’m super thankful for him.

All of the other reviews about the staff being unhelpful and rude are 100% true. I had filled out an adoption application, checked out some dogs, and brought my roommate to see them only 2 hours later. When I asked to see a specific dog I was told that he would not be a good fit for my home because of my school schedule and because I lived in an apartment. None of these things were true. This lady took one look at me and decided she knew all about my life and whether I should rescue a puppy or not. I’m giving this two stars because they take better care of their animals than paws and only most of the staff is unpleasant, not all.

Several years ago my dog jumped her fence , my pathetic neighbor reported me to this agency. I was forced to pay 350 dollars to get her back and convicted of animals at large. This same neighbor 's dogs were running on my property and when I reported him I was told by the animal control that they did not get involved in neighborhood disputes. Be warned if you are not wealthy or have friends in law enforcement, you will have to suffer the lose of your pet and be convicted of a crime.

The people there are so helpful, even on labor day when they were closed two women were standing outside and were more than welcome to help us find our dog. The staff there are helpful and the dogs were happy. I would recommend WCAS to anyone who wants a dog or cat.

We went in hoping to adopt a dog and give him a better home. I felt like I was being judged if I’m going to be a good dog owner after being around them my whole life. They had to call my apartment complex and the place I live at has a 2 pet rule but I was planning on making this dog I was getting my emotional support animal and when I tried telling her that she just shut me down and said they can’t let us adopt any of their animals. Getting this puppy would have helped me a lot at this time but thanks for nothing I guess.

The staff are so kind and friendly! The animals are so cute and they are so sweet! The people who were there looking though were very rude and offended me. I don’t recommend coming here when it is packed with rude people who don’t know anything other than themselves.

Highly recommend Williamson County Animal!! They truly take wonderful care of the animals in their care. We adopted our dog from them about a month ago and we had the most amazing experience. You go through an application process then are able to meet and play with the pets. Their dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and well cared for! So thankful for all that they do for the animals in their care. #adoptdontshop

Great shelter...you can tell each employee and volunteer truly care about the well being of these animals. My girlfriend and I ended up adopting one cat and fostering another. They told us everything we need to know about being cat parents and provided food and litter boxes. Highly recommend adoption from this location.

If I could have given a lower star review I would have! When living in Franklin, and my children were young, I adopted several kittens and cats from Williamson Co. They were always nice and tried to make sure the pet fit the family. Apparently things have changed. My elderly neighbors recently decided to find a dog. The couple really liked "Gabbie" a sweet female with a friendly appearance and beautiful eyes. They were told she was an Aussie BorderCollie cross, (they formerly had a border collie). There was no way this dog had any border collie. She has all the characteristics of a Chow (built strong & black on tongue in back ), and possibly a trace of Aussie with a stretch of imagination. In a contained room, the dog would be fine for them. In reality, it is a nightmare. The dog is basically untrained and unsocialized. Maybe an occasional sit! On a leash she's dangerous due to the power of her lunging. Everything catches her attention... trucks, bikes, dogs, cats. It's beware for the victim holding her leash... if you hold, you go down. The elderly lady was pulled down and hurt her hip. The man has fallen several times and is often afraid to walk her. I tried to help as I had retrained a large German Shepherd that was leash aggressive. However, this dog is determined and unaware of any human attached to her — even with a prong collar! She is so powerful that my 6'2" strong husband was amazed at the strength it took to contain her. Sending "Gabbie" home with this sweet, unsuspecting couple was cruel for both the dog and recipients. The people at the Williamson County Society had an opportunity to place an appropriate pet with a couple that would have given top-notch care, but they selfishly got rid of a difficult dog with this unsuspecting couple. Shame on you!!!
