At Play With Sparky Asheville, Tennessee

Saved me when I had to go out of town unexpectedly, with very friendly staff who made sure my older doggo got all her meds and stayed happy and fed. I won't hesitate to come back if I need day care or boarding in the future.

It's a great place to take your dog to take your dog too. Your pet would enjoy it

Sparky’s is Fantastic! We bring our little guy, Baxter there 2-3 times a week. You do need daycare reservations at least 24 hours in advance. Only have been unable to get a reservation 2-3 times but in general they have availability when we’ve needed it. They’re overnight boarding is also great! We’d never boarded Baxter before so we were apprehensive the first night but the staff at Sparky’s are so great!! No problems at all. Baxter loves it when we pull up to the front door and just can’t get inside quickly enough! He loves all the staff there and so we think he likes the women there more than us lol!! Great place-highly recommend!! Particularly the incredible staff!!!

The do a great job with managing our pet's time with proper sized play groups spaced with break and rest times. They had be been very informative in how their day has gone. Great place to leave your dog with no worries.

Staff is awesome and trust worthy! Rates have gone up a little since we've been here, but we know exactly what type of care our dog is getting so it's worth it

As an animal lover I was thrilled to start work here however my time was short because of poor training and management. The facility is run down and communication between employees is nonexistent, please for your own dogs safety avoid. It’s a miracle they’ve been around as long as they have. Employees will insult dogs behind owners backs as they waste time in the office. If you do not immediately fit their perfection for the workplace after day one you’ll be gone with no chance to improve your performance. With a workplace as toxic as that why would you want your beloved pet anywhere near the place? Ignore all the glowing reviews on Facebook and Google, they trim the bad to make themselves look better.

While initially excited about all that At Play With Sparky offered, as we were coming from out of town and needed a spot for our doodle to spend some time while we went on some adventures he couldn’t join us with, we can’t recommend it. When we picked up our dog, he was returned to us frenzied, exhausted, dehydrated and with most of his food we had left. Almost two days worth of food uneaten. He has a chicken allergy, so he had to eat our food, which means he either didn’t eat at all or ate other dogs’ food containing chicken. When we got back to our Airbnb he ate and drank like he hadn’t in days. He was agitated, nippy and growling for the majority of the rest of the evening. Our dog is a gentle, excited doodle who loves everyone. He ran from us for hours when we would try to give him pets or interact with him. To see him like this was heartbreaking. The one time we called to check in, the response was “no news is good news.” Other places will give you specifics about your dog, but it seemed they paid no attention to our dog at all.

This was our first time taking our beagle Ichabod to a daycare. We went to Biltmore for the day. It was absolutely wonderful he had the best time. He is 10 years old and very lazy and he actually came back a little dirty and it was great. Definitely recommend! When we come back he will be staying there again.

These folks love and understand dogs. Recommend them ????

My ???? LOVES it here! Always comes home happy and wiped out, which is always a blessing with 1yo pup!

We called for a last minute accommodation but the staff member we spoke with was able to make our experience smooth and easy. We emailed our dog's vet records over and gave them a heads up on the time we were expecting to arrive. The staff did a great job acclimating our dog to the daycare space once we got there. Upon walking in, another dog acted as a "guide" to introduce our dog to the play area. When we picked our dog up after about 5 hours, we could tell he was happy from socializing with other dogs and he slept well that night. This business offers a great service at an affordable price. We will definitely use At Play with Sparky the next time we're in Asheville and we need a "babysitter!"

I've taken 4 different dogs here over the years. I'll say my positive stuff first and put my criticisms at the bottom. They're not the fanciest but they are the most affordable, and my doggies certainly are able to get enough exercise while I'm at work and it has dramatically increased my dogs' quality of life. They are a little disorganized but this doesn't really bother me. I find that to be true of mostly every mom and pop small business. The place isn't fancy, but personally I find it more trustworthy than some of the shiny corporate places. I don't think the owner is very present and I get the impression that the pay isn't great so I really think the employees are there because they really care. I saw some of the negative reviews mentioning that dogs spend time in "cages" (aka kennels) that's true of most every busy daycare since they need to give breaks, but also they take the time to organize the dogs into groups of compatible doggy friends, and dogs that don't like each other aren't out in the yard at the same time. Because of this I have never heard about any major fighting breaking out, unlike all the other places in town. I saw some negative reviews mentioning their animals coming home with contagious stuff like fleas or eye infections, and honestly it's important to have your dogs on preventatives otherwise duh, if you stick a bunch of dogs together in a space they will share cooties. Ok the not so great stuff: There are no half days. You have to pay for as full day no matter how long your dog is there. The play areas are gravelled instead of astroturf. I like it better than cement but it still means the doggies can get scraped knees and repetitive stress injuries over time. My dogs pick up bad habits from other dogs, especially barking. I think this would happen at any place but it's still annoying.

Staff is friendly and my puppy was generally fine for her first boarding. The place looks a bit shabby for what I expected from their website, but it did the job while we explored Asheville in the evenings as our lodging was not pet friendly.

Man you got to go in Michael's I spent more money there than I should but it was really fun

I was visiting from out of town and needed a place for my fur baby while we toured the Biltmore. From to first phone call to picking her up , they were very kind to me and my baby! She had the best day there! Thank you for taking such great care of my girl!????❤️

The staff here are fantastic! I take my dog for day play and overnight stays and have always had a great experience. Recently they went above and beyond to make sure my girl was happy and healthy. She is always excited to go there. Highly recommend.

I was just on the phone with this company I'm looking on having my dog being there we are training our dog to be a service dog and the lady on the phone completely blew my mind I was speechless for the first time in my life I was speechless I am with the military and we got a puppy for my wife to train our puppy to be a service dog and the lady over the phone completely blew my mind I was speechless that I'm happy that she told me about this I'm happy that she was honest and looking out for the best interest in my dog and the best interest for my wife 15 minutes I'm being on the phone was the best 15 minutes of my life besides getting married to course but knowing that the best interest for my wife and my dog and she explained everything to the tea was great she was helpful she was kind she spent time on the phone with me was great and I could not ask for anything else

I been taking my dogs there for years! The first dog I had passed but they took great care of him. The one I have now they do outstanding with cooking his nails and grooming him. They also offer playcare and overnight. My dog loves to see them. Love this place!

They have always taken excellent care of our dogs, and our dogs always come home tired. The staff is great.

Dogs spend the day playing outside, not locked up in a kennel! Worth every penny????

Boarded my dog here only for a few nights and he came back with an eye infection and a cut on his leg. Oh and the facility doesn't even have air conditioning. Yeah, avoid this place.

My mom's dog knows the turns to get to Sparky's and gets more excited with each one. He sleeps like a log when he gets home so I know all was very well there.

Our dogs love it here! They get so excited as we drive there. You can't beat the price for boarding when you have playcare passes, especially the multiple dog discount.

Nice kennel to leave pup when I'm visiting in Asheville if needed.
