Dr. Henke is truly one of a kind. He took amazing care of my beloved dog, Buddy, for years. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and is deeply compassionate. Dr. Henke is truly dedicated to your animals health and well being and is always transparent in his efforts while maintaining a genuine and calm bedside manner. He always made time to answer all my questions and talk through all medication and treatment options., He routinely went above and beyond not only for my dog but also for me as the owner with his level of care. I will forever be grateful for the level of care my dog received by the entire staff of Palmetto Veterinary Hospital. Cannot recommend Dr. Henke enough.

We have taken our GSP to Dr. Henke pretty much his entire life, but he recently got very sick. Obviously, a dog can't tell you exactly what's wrong, so it took 2 visits to get all of his symptoms and the proper tests ordered. I have to say Dr. Henke saved our pup's life! He is only 5 and must have gotten into something toxic when we weren't looking. They took excellent care of him. His staff is very sweet and loving. I highly recommend Palmetto Veterinary Hospital for all of your pet's needs.

Stay away- I have a newborn puppy who had an infection that was treaty poorly and billed me $1000 in tests for symptoms they caused. Then suggest I take the dog to the emergency vet for further investigation Took the dog to another vet we are very happy with who changed the prescription for $9 and the dog was instantly normal again. What a miracle.... Their incompetence is concerning. They took no responsibility of the situation and the only 2 things that suffered was my puppy and my wallet.

Great place for my pets! They have taken such good care of my 3 dogs every time I go. They have done a good job to promote social distance without making it awkward. They keep you informed every step of the way while your fur child is cared for. Even during a dental procedure, we received text updates with photos of teeth to keep us updated. Their attention to detail & communication is excellent.

This review is overdue. The office is clean and they get you in fairly quickly. I’ve visited a couple times, the reason I am rating a 3 star is I’ve had an emergency appointment with my senior dog that was in critical health. She was having heart failure. When I was checking out, I had to go to the emergency clinic, I noticed I was billed for a rabies shot. I was confused because when an animal is in a critical condition, you are not suppose vaccinate them. I didn’t question it because I was so distressed. She technically wasn’t due for another couple days anyway. She declined very quickly after, she probably would have passed anyway, but I felt like it sped up the process. For that reason, I won’t be going back. They did send me a nice card when she passed.

Staff is very responsive and caring. Communication is professional. We were referred here and are glad we listened.

When I came home from work to find my cat injured, Palmetto Veterinary Hospital made everything easy for us and provided quick, professional, and quality care. Everyone I interacted with was extremely nice and you could tell the compassion with which they treat their animals. 10/10 would recommend.

My dog has been going here for a number of years. When I first moved to Charleston 5 years ago, I went to another local vet who charged me $700+ for medication and a prescription for my dog’s skin condition - and the problem came back within a month. After coming to Palmetto Vet, it took some time, but we finally discovered my dog was allergic to flea saliva, so even one bite would cause horrific rashes! My dog has now been rash free for almost 2 years & is in perfectly healthy condition. I am so thankful for this hospital!

We found a stray kitten they got her in right away and explained everything very well!

Dr. Horton is a compassionate vet. She is great with my male cat Jake! He hates new people. Call her for a home visit!!!

We arrived from overseas on a Sunday and by Friday my dog had a productive cough,fever and was throwing up. Called several places and no one could fit us in. Called Palmetto Hospital and they were able to squeeze us in. I’m so thankful they got my 7 month old puppy in. It turned out that he was also dehydrated. They gave him some fluids, meds and had him feeling so much better almost immediately. They were very kind to our pup and clear when it came to his care. I highly recommend this place. I have already used them again for maintenance care.

I have taken multiple dogs here for years. I really like Dr Henke and Dr easom is great too.

We have used this veterinary office on and off for many many years. They took care of one of my cats as well as my dog who had to have reconstructive surgery on her meniscus and cruciate ligament. The staff is exceptionally friendly as well as the veterinarian's themselves. We have personally seen two different veterinarians here who literally got on the floor with our dog to make her more comfortable. As most of us know, our animals are like our children and we want them to be and the best environment with loving and caring staff and that's exactly what you get with this Veterinary Hospital. Their prices are reasonable and after having our 10 year old pitbull put into surgery twice I will say I trust them 100% and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dr heinke takes excellent care of my dog

This is the best veterinarian in town. We have been going there for 17 years.

This was easily the best Vet appointment we have had in years. Dr. Easom was knowledgeable, professional, and gave our girl a very thorough exam. She is an excellent teacher and great communicator. I haven’t felt this good about a Vet in a long time. The whole support staff are also extremely knowledgeable and professional as well. Rachael was super! No hesitation in giving them 5 stars!

Best veterinarian we have ever been to. We were first time customers and the staff/vet were amazing. I can't recommend them enough. Very down to earth and so very thorough and conservative when it came to options.

Called Palmetto when I thought my Corgi had heat stroke, Dr. Henke said bring him in immediately. Within minutes he discovered a snake bite on his snout. Stablized him and call Animal hospital to arrange for treatment immediately. The staff and Dr. Henke were great and responsive to emergency care. Ttucker is stable after receiving antivenom and meds. Thank you.

They always take very good care of my River dog.

We have used two other vets in Mt Pleasant before finding Dr Craig Henke at Palmetto Veterinary Hospital. We have a Golden Retriever & English Bulldog both who have skin issues. Finally we have found a vet who knows how to diagnose their issues. The care & service we have received from Dr Henke & his team has been exceptional. If you are new to Mount Pleasant like we were 4 years ago don't waste your time like we did trying other vets and go straight to Palmetto Veterinary Hospital. Craig is a man of strong values, faith & truly cares about his clients and their four legged family members. We rarely post reviews on Yelp, but in this case we believe the exception is justified.

My dog Lexi was sick and the doctor and staff took care of Lexi and me. Through an xray the doctor quickly found out what was going on with her and got her feeling better in no time.Great Staff!

If I could give more than five stars, I would give Palmetto Vet a thousand!!. After moving to Mt P I went to a few other Vets and was nothing but frustrated and ripped off of tons of money. Dr Henke listens, has amazing compassion and actually was able to fix my dogs health issues. The other Vets in the past just gave me medicines that didn't work, which I now think was a way for them to have me constantly return so they could get more money out of me. The staff at Palmetto vet are amazing. The girls at the front desk are so friendly and helpful, despite seeing and talking with many people all day, they always remember you and greet you like an old friend. Laura, Dr Henke's vet tech is the best. She has a kind, loving manner with the pets and she is super smart. She's able to answer any question you may have. Cant say enough good things about Palmetto Vets, they have been such a blessing to me and my dogs.
