Dr. Gallivan is an excellent surgeon who has saved the life of one my dogs twice this year. First was a tumor on the spleen that was bleeding and the second was bloat (twisted stomach that can be fatal). I can't recommend him highly enough. Beautiful surgical skills, hardly a scar! As far as the rest of the emergency vet team--they leave a lot to be desired. I took my dog who was suffering from bloating (twisted stomach that can be fatal) and they turned him away because his vitals were normal and they had no room for him. I took him to my regular vet and he immediately sent him back to the emergency vet to have an immediate operation to save his life. Similar experience when his spleen was bleeding a few months earlier. Perhaps they need an evaluation of the emergency vets to weed out the incompetents.

Needed emergency attention while traveling through by boat for our 16 year old Pekingese Leo after he and I took a fall. We called for emergency service the whole staff especially Baylor and Dr. Trailer were fantastic and super attentive. Highly recommend them

We've had to bring two of our pets here in the last 6 months. The first time was on Labor Day 2021 when our 105 lb dog was incredibly ill. The emergency staff was fantastic. They were super busy but everyone was professional, calm, and took their time when treating our pup and explaining our options. The second experience we had here was with the specialty surgical team. Our cat had to undergo a high-risk surgery. Dr. Gallivan was the surgeon and was so kind, patient, and thorough during both our consultation and our post-op meeting. You can tell that this team truly loves the animals they treat.

They take great care of our boy. They gave us a very thorough explanation of his condition and treatment options.

This is the second time I have brought my dog and no acknowledgement from the staff. Waiting for 40 mins without being updated is unacceptable

Our cat was received a cancer diagnosis two days ago, and we have not had a chance to meet with an oncologist yet. Today he refused all food and was vomiting a lot. We decided to take him to the ER, but since it’s a holiday weekend, their oncologist was unfortunately not available. However, the staff was extremely kind, took his vitals to ensure he would be okay until we could see an oncologist tomorrow, and did not charge us for the visit. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience, despite the circumstances.

Very happy with the communication and quick process. The dr was a little behind and the staff kepts me updated showing mw that I was not forgotten. The technician was very nice. I felt the dr took the required time Lucky needed. Answered my questions and explained in detail x- rays, his findings on exam, recommendations moving forward ect. It is a 2 hour drive for me but it is always worth the drive when needed knowing my pets will get the best care.

Most incredible team helped me and my toy Aussie Shepherd get through a very frightening day two day illness. Every person working at the clinic was an all-star and I found them through a Google search at 8pm on a Sunday night - random. Would trust the team implicitly.

We came in for end of life care for our dog, who was suffering from CHF. Her regular vet was closed for NYE. The team was incredibly compassionate and treated us quickly. They got us into a private room. The euthanasia was quick and we knew she was not in pain. The techs made a paw print for us. Everyone was so kind. They had also helped us several years ago when our dog was in the ICU w/ pancreatitis. They do incredible work here, and had given us another 6 years with her after that hospital admission. I would recommend them to anyone needing emergency care for their pets.

I had to put my 15 year old dog down over a holiday weekend . They managed my very difficult situation with complete compassion and professionalism. I thank them very much for helping me at this terrible and emotional time. Again very Professional and compassionate.

We had the emergency on New Years Eve. The staff was amazingly efficient and caring.

Dr. Graham and the staff were wonderful on Christmas Day. They were CRAZY busy, but they remained calm and kept updating me every step of the way in caring for our dog.

I'm so glad I took my regular vet's advice and got a second opinion after a visit to the local emergency vet. I drove 2 hours to get my dog to a specialist. I appreciate the time the doctor took to figure out what was wrong with my pet. They have been really great at monitoring my dog’s chronic disease since diagnosis.

Our dog injured his back on Thanksgiving. We debated whether or not to take him to an emergency vet, and each clinic we called could not give us a straight answer. Veterinary Speciality Care Charleston immediately suggested we bring him in. They took our dog back as soon as we arrived, and we spoke with a vet fairly soon afterwards. They were incredibly helpful and kind during a traumatic experience. There were also no hidden costs as they were incredibly transparent with us. I would highly recommend them!

The nurse we had was absolutely wonderful. Kind and understanding. Our Dr was calm and informing. They both answered any questions I had and were very kind about it. Which in my situation really helped to have and know my dog was being treated so sweetly. Every ones sweet demeanor and attitude and was very helpful.

The staff was professional, kind and sensitive. I especially appreciated their genuine concern for the well-being of my pet.

The staff at Blue Pearl was truly amazing during a stressful time. While our dog was in the hospital, they updated us on her status (twice a day) with very detailed information. We felt reassured she was receiving the best care that she could possibly get. We are not local, but they treated us like we were neighbors.
