Amazing experience. Dr. McGarry is hands down the best vet I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Down-to-earth, great sense of humor, and explains everything. Also I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised by the bill... Almost half of what I was expecting to pay for an URGENT care visit! Thanks so much for helping out Max!

I have been going to this animal hospital for the last 25 years. Dr. Rutowski is an excellent Vet and I trust him completely knowing that he actually cares about my pets.

I took my bird this morning to this hospital. They charge me $142.23 dollars, 20 min later my bird died...why they don't know. So think 2 times before visit this place.

I love this place. The building is cozy, the vet techs and assistants are very friendly, and Dr. Rutowski is kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.

Great place saved my bird " forsale"

Putting a beloved pet down is hard enough. But I was made to feel guilty because the disease progressed faster than Dr. Fine predicted. She made me feel like I had not done enough for an incurable disease. My poor pet unable to walk and feeding him with an eye dropper apparently wasn’t enough trouble. Not a good enough reason for a humane end. This isn’t the first pet I’ve had to put down. But the first for this office. The whole experience was heart breaking. And she made me feel even worse.

Such wonderful doctors with wonderful care; however, please be aware of the high fees! They tack an 'office visit' fee of $50+ dollars to everything they can. This is higher than any office visit me or my husband have ever seen, and it doesn't seem that it's any more in-depth than checking vital signs. My cat's rabies vaccine ended up costing $80 dollars! $80!!! I love this vet, but I will have to take my animals elsewhere for smaller things like vaccines.

I absolutely love this vet. It’s hard to find vets who will treat gerbils, but I am so glad I found this place! Dr. McGarry was AMAZING with my gerbils and treated them with love and care. The prices were also very reasonable. Thank you for taking such good care of my babies!

Had to only give 4 stars. While I feel my dogs have gotten good care and the staff is great, I was really upset after my visit on 12/21. My dog was sick and I realized early Saturday morning he needed to be seen. I showed up at opening time, 7:45, in the hopes I could be worked in. I did not have an appointment. The receptionist told me the the doctor’s schedule was open until 10 that morning so it shouldn’t be any problem being seen. They weren’t busy. I thanked her. After getting the bill, I realized that I was charged extra for a walk in/urgent appointment. How do they charge extra when his schedule was empty for several hours and I was there during normal business hours? I don’t approve of that and was not told it would be extra. I just think that was not a good way of doing business. And I’ll be looking for a new vet.

I have been a client for 29 years and that says it all! Dr Rutowski and staff are excellent, very professional, caring and kind. I have had quite a few pets they have cared for their entire lives and our family couldn't be happier with Animal Care Hospital of Matthews! Great location, prices are ok, services are awesome.
