I brought my lab mix to this hospital for bloody diarrhea. He was up to date on his vaccines, was still eating and drinking but was constantly having diarrhea to the point of it turning to straight blood. I was seen quickly as there were not too many people in the parking lot. Dr. Clements was so informative and thorough. Yessenia, my tech, was so helpful and was sweet to my pet and reassured me that he was in good care when he was taken to their treatment area. They went over an estimate with me before doing anything with him and listened to all of my questions. Yessenia went over the instructions for his medications and I felt comfortable in his care when I brought him home. He is happy and recovering well at home. I only wish this could be his regular vet.

BLUF: 4 out of 5 stars - DVM was very helpful and kind. Emergency clinic was fast. SOME (not all) other staff seemed to lack necessary knowledge to be working with trauma related injuries. Last night my 9 year old chihuahua mix got bit by another dog. He suffered from a severe proptosis of his left eye (his eye was falling out of the socket and sticking out from his face). We rushed him to this clinic around 730pm. He has emergency eye surgery and came home by 10pm. I was impressed by the DVM (I cannot remember her name), but one of the vet techs consistently gave us false information. For example, the vet tech told us he would likely be able to have some vision saved, while the vet told us minutes later that he was going to be blind. This gave us a false sense of hope that was immediately stripped away due to lack of knowledge. The vet tech also offered some false and misleading information about the procedure (I genuinely think she did not know how to answer my questions so she chose to pull something out of her you-know-what). This was very frustrating and at a traumatic time such as this I needed guidance and correct answers. I trust the people that I allow help my pets to be adequately trained or at least admit when they do not have an answer to my question. She was unprofessional and treated us as a bother. Additionally, the staff was more concerned with asking me my address and having me put a mask on (I ran out the house without one - I have no problems wearing masks in public) than taking my dog with a bulging eyeball to the back for treatment. Overall, this clinic was fast, the DVM was VERY helpful and offered great advice. Other staff could use some experience.

*would be zero if it was possible* Brought my cat in to see if he had eaten something or had some underlying issue that X-rays can't see. I've been here since 0915 and it's 1242. I waited 20 minutes at least to be seen the first time for maybe 5 to 7 minutes to tell them that i want an Xray and blood panel and another 20 ish to be seen a second time for less than five minutes to get his blood panel done. I shouldn't have been able to finish an entire episode of Supernatural while I waited for his blood to be drawn. If they were waiting on results, they should have done the X-rays directly after getting the samples and brought him back. I had gotten very frustrated with the wait and ended up with a nosebleed from it which prompted me to go up to the front to see what was going on and why it was taking so long for blood samples. They said a tech was going to be with me not too long after I got back to the room and still waited another 15 minutes on top of my current total wait time. After the 15, the tech came in and said blood looked fine aside from a couple things and asked if I wanted an X-ray done. Like I said before, I voiced I wanted X-rays right at the beginning and it should have been done directly after the blood samples were taken. Customer service was fine all around from the technicians' side and the front desk was at the bare minimum. I understand that this is an emergency hospital and other peoples' pets could be in a much worse situation than mine but whatever system is in place to get work done, it needs to be revised where expectations are met and requests are done in a timely manner. After I get my cat, I'm never coming back here again. Edit: left at 1335.

Do not come to the vet. They lied about asking me to diagnostic testing. I brought my cat in because he wasn't eating or drinking. They said he had an infection. Gave him antibiotics and fluids and sent him home he died 8 hours later.

If I could give them zero stars I would. We took our small dog in on a Sunday for coughing up blood. They proceeded to do an unnecessary Parvo test that came up negative. They then proceeded to charge $125 for an exam and the veterinarian couldn’t find anything wrong. She claimed they would have to do extensive bloodwork and X-rays which would cost around $900. It was clear they had no idea what they were doing, especially now after her regular vet found issues they missed during the exam. We declined and took our pet to her normal vet on Monday. The vet immediately determined she has a heart worm infection and could be treated all for around $300 including tests and X-rays. They seemed like they were out for the money and not for helping the pet.

I took my pet there for emergency assistance, not to be lectured to by a vet that knows nothing about me and my family! I'll leave my comments at that!

I went into the clinic this evening because my dog khole was in labor and was have difficulties they made me go wait in the car until i finished the paperwork but would not allow her to go back for an X-ray until I paid $375 upfront and the. If she needed. Surgery which she did need they wanted 75% upfront well I was having trouble. I was waiting for a phone call back and the triage nurse knew she was having issues even though she looked stable my poor khole wasn’t sure. In her birth canal she had conjured puppies and it was causing internal bleeding I did not know and was told to take her home and keep an eye on her whe. I did about 30 minutes after getting home my khole and her 7 puppies were dead. This is sad that because someone doesn’t have the money to afford the expensive treatment their animal has to suffer . I lost my child I will never go back to that clinic again

This is a really difficult review for me. With COVID protocols I only met the staff when they came to my car, or over the phone. We had a puppy who wouldn’t stop vomiting. We brought him in on a Saturday, they did X-Rays, blood work, and an ultrasound. Sunday morning they released him back to us and said they fed him and regurgitated a little. I get him home and he’s vomiting multiple times. I bring him back and we’re in the car at least 4 hours before he’s seen again. I get it, it’s an emergency clinic, and emergency situations obviously happened, but he was in-patient over night, and shouldn’t have been released. They asked me from the beginning if he could’ve swallowed something and he’s a puppy and that’s possible with him since he had a plush toy I had given him a couple days earlier. From the beginning they said an exploratory surgery for him swallowing something may be needed, but we really only wanted to go the surgery route if it was absolutely necessary. I think we made that clear over the phone many times. That’s why we got 3 sets of X-Rays, blood work, and ultrasound done. None of that showed a sign he ingested anything he shouldn’t have, but that Sunday they still recommended the surgery. If we didn’t do the surgery and something bad happened we heard how bad it could be for him, so we elected for surgery, and they found nothing but some inflammation in his intestines. We transferred care to our vet the next day as is normal, and a couple days later he’s okay and home with us. The staff I met in person was very very nice, but the push for surgery was too much. I feel terrible as a dog owner over this. Of course all the extra spending of money over nothing sucks, but looking at him everyday I feel terrible over that decision. All the tests said he didn’t swallow anything and I agreed to something I shouldn’t have. It’s so difficult when it’s your puppy and you’re not a vet doctor.

I consider myself lucky (and cursed!) to work in veterinary medicine. Lucky, because I have access to quality care when needed and cursed, because my pets enjoy giving me trouble! I didn't want to wait to take my cat into work with me Monday, so I made the call to bring him to Points East. My late Friday 'date night' visit to Points East was thorough, professional, and caring. Veterinary hospitals across the nation are suffering right now. Struggling to stay adequately staffed, more pets than ever to see, and some not-so-nice clients can make our jobs really difficult. Points East managed to see my pet in a timely manner and made me feel very welcome. I'm thankful for a beautiful facility and trained staff like theirs to be available to our area. Thank you to your team for their hard work and dedication to this field! Astro says 'Thanks!' too. :)

Our dog Duet was a transfer patient from Southern Oaks Animal hospital for an overnight stay with an IV. While the COVID protocols can make admission procedures difficult, I found the staff to be very caring and competent. Dr Shelling was very knowledgeable and explained all that they would do regarding treatment for our Duet. My only complaint would be that they require a 75% deposit on the expected treatment, and of course there is no way to know what could develop during a pets stay, but I am happy to say that part of my deposit is to be refunded because the care did not cost as much as anticipated.

Unfortunately- well, no, fortunately, I had to bring my dog here even though I knew he was deceased. I say fortunately because they were amazing people. I am absolutely in pieces over the death of my boy, but they handled everything amazing from start to finish. I also got his ashes back in a very timely manner. I decided to read up on the company they partner with for their cremations (I know, I should have done it before hand, but I was hysterical and everything happened so quickly. I just hoped and prayed they had it under control.) well, they very well did. The company they partner with is professional and wonderful. I have my boy back home. Not the way I ever wanted him to be, but they did it beautifully. They were sensitive to me when I dropped him off, and the woman that brought his ashes out to me didn’t rush me or hurry me to sign the paper. She asked me to take a minute to look it all over, and really let me take my time. She waited until I was ready to wrap things up, which made it feel like they actually care that much more. I told myself I wasn’t going to cry, but of course that didn’t happen. Also, to address the 1 star reviews I read: I believe they come from lack of understanding on how emergency veterinary hospitals need to operate. It’s a hard job, and it’s not first come first serve, not would they want to leave any stone unturned when a pet’s life is at risk. Overall, thank you Points East. I’ve never lost a dog this traumatically before and you made the memory part easier. Thank you for being patient and thank you for being empathetic. I appreciate you all so much more than you know.
