The adoption process was really straightforward and easy to follow, I’m really happy with my new kitten!

This is a wonderful shelter that is no-kill and works hard to meet the needs of each and every one of its residents. It is non-profit and often counts on volunteers as well.

Came in today 100% ready to adopt a dog that they have on their website and that they clarified is up for adoption at this location and ready to go. After walking in, they informed me I have to wait a week to SEE the dog let alone adopt him. Yeah no, they must not want to adopt any pets out because from what I hear and read this is a reoccurring problem Update: they said their office is closed for Christmas but it was more than opened when I walked in there yesterday (12/22/21) and not only that but I’ve heard of this ongoing with close friends

Adopted our cat from FAPS before and had just adopted our dog Wayne today. FAPS was super easy. Process took all of about 5 days after submitting my application. Once I got the “approved for adoption” email we were able to bring Wayne home all within the same day. Wayne was tested positive for heartworm disease but thanks to FAPS, we were schooled up on all his previous treatments and vaccines. They are willing to finish the medication until he is heartworm negative. Upon pick up they also gave us a bag of goodies for Wayne which was very thoughtful!

I loved this place until they called my reference to tell THEM they don't really wish to adopt to two 20 year olds (who have their own house, job, etc.) So be careful! if you're 20-23 years old they may not adopt to you and may not even call you to tell you personally! As a my reply to the director: I am well aware of what was said over the phone conversation, I am not only disappointed at the lack of respect but also appalled by the patronizing questions and replies you had said to my reference. If that is what you think as appropriate or professional by any means then I am simply astounded. I will more than likely acquaint myself with another shelter that will not discriminate nor patronize my references.

Absolutely hands down the greatest shelter you'll ever find! They truly care about each and every dog and cat they see and shelter. My husband and I have gotten both of our sweet girls from them and I don't have enough good things to say about the adoption process. Only $200 for a dog($100 for cats) and they include all medical treatment for about 6 months. Spay/neuter, flea prevention, heartworm prevention and treatment, and more. You can't beat that price for everything they do. The spay/neuter place they take their puppies to is incredible also, no complications from surgery and a clean and healthy looking incision site. We love this shelter so so much and recommend it to everyone!

Love that they don't euthanize, unless the pet is suffering. Very clean and lots of TLC. ????

They were super friendly, super helpful, it was easy and they seem to really care about the dogs and where they go! I fell in love instantly with the pup that they clearly had taken time to train basic commands! I would recommend this place if your looking to adopt a pet!

If you are looking for your next pet please go to Fayetteville Animal Protection! The staff is amazing and the dogs and cats are so well taken care of. While you’re visiting, please make a donation so they can continue the rescue mission they are on.

Bottom Line: 1. Notify people when others have applied to adopt the same dog. 2. Be more conscientious of military families and the separation that can occur. It's not always possible for every person of every family to come in and meet a new pet. For those of you that care to read the full story, help yourselves. I have always been one to support places like this and I have even adopted from here in the past with no issue but I'm writing this review because their process needs to change. I submitted an application to adopt a dog on November 13th and was instructed to call on November 17th in order to check on her because she was having some health problems. When I called today I was informed that she was being given to another home. First, I was told by the person I spoke to that it was because my dogs had not done their "meet and greet" which they couldn't because her health problem that I was calling to check on was contagious. Then I was transferred to the shelter manager where they made up a line of reasons as to why the puppy was being given to someone else starting with the fact that we recently adopted another older dog who is adjusting beautifully to our happy dog family and ending with the fact that my husband doesn't live here and won't be able to come in and meet her before we took her home. She was a 2 month old puppy, we are animal lovers, we would have loved her no matter what and with military families that is an absurd requirement. Lastly and the most frustrating factor of all is the fact that the other family that was chosen had submitted their application three days before me. I wouldn't even be angry had they told me that the day I submitted my application! We are the type of people who believe all animals deserve good homes and we are not selfish enough to believe that home has to be with us. You should save some people the heartache of mentally bonding with an animal and then casually telling them that they cant have it by letting them know in advance that someone else was looking to adopt the same dog. Last thing and then I'll end my rant... To the shelter manager who had the audacity to tell me that people cant love something they haven't held, your thought process is cruel and you have a grave misunderstanding of a person's capacity for love.

We adopted our dog here, he was a two months old puppy. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. We applied for a puppy we saw online but when we got there we didn't have a good connection with him, so the staff helped us to find the right puppy for us. They take care very well of the animals there, they keep the place clean and nice. The best part is that when we got our puppy they scheduled all his appointments for vaccines and vet control and they were included in the fee we paid for the adoption. They called to check on us to see if the dog was a good fit for us and they remind you about the appointments. It's a great place to look for a pet. We are very happy with our dog and with the service in this place!
