Vet and staff have taken such great care of our two dogs for routine check ups and surgical procedures! Facility is clean and bright. We moved across town and still make the 40 min drive to bring our 'kids' to this practice.

The worst....I got my dog back from having her stitches removed in worse shape. I called three times and left messages. The vet never called me back. They only care about money. Do not go there!

If I could give 0 stars I would wholeheartedly do that. My dog Hokie was a patient at Wateree animal hospital from the time we adopted him at 3 months. From a misdiagnosed thyroid condition causing him to be dangerously overweight to the recent events that led to his unexpected death at age 6, Wateree failed Hokie. We took him in after he vomited on Monday morning (2 days ago) and he was assessed for a GI pathology. Ultrasound testing was not done which later we were informed could have diagnosed him earlier and he might be alive. He was sent home and considered stable, only to go into complete failure 3-4 hours later due to a GI perforation (THE VERY SYSTEM that had been evaluated and deemed stable hours earlier. This lead to an emergency visit to CVETS but it was too late. I now have a box of ashes that contains my best friend in the world. I believe no PURPOSEFUL ill intent led to the actions of the Wateree staff, however, I believe Hokie’s death to be a direct result of the actions of Wateree animal hospital during the diagnostic process during his visit. I’ve attached a picture of our normally jovial, sweet, loving, and energetic lab mix Hokie the afternoon after he returned from Wateree. He was too weak to move due to a ruptured ulcer and sepsis destroying him from the inside and looked to be almost comatose after being declared “stable” by Dr. Hopka. Beside the picture of Hokie is another review that I found from another owner alleging similar issues with the same veterinarian at the same hospital, resulting in the death of that owner’s pet as well. Hokie didn’t deserve the suffering that he endured in his last moments and neither does any person or pet. It’s never been about the money for us with Hokie but a refund was not offered either following the poor care that killed our pride and joy. As a pet owner you must place total trust in your pet’s provider. I will likely never be a pet owner again after the heartbreak of this experience and I encourage each and every pet owner to consider this when thinking of putting their trust in Wateree animal hospital to care for their loved ones.

We love Wateree Animal Hospital in Elgin. All the staff there are patient and kind, even with our challenging Claire de Lune. :)

We visited this office as new patients with our sick, 10 year old dog. Dr. Hopka was very thorough and made sure we figured out exactly what was going on with him. We discussed all of our options and even returned the following day to discuss our options again. She never made us feel rushed or unimportant. She took time out of her busy schedule to help answer any and all questions we had. Their office has called multiple times to check on our dog & it meant so much to us. We will be changing both our dogs to this office. I can’t say enough nice things about the office and the staff!

LOVE Wateree and its entire team. I went in this AM like a crazy lady because my dog was suffering from heat stroke and they adapted, reacted well and took care of him for me. He is still there being looked after but I know he is in good hands. They have always been amazing and welcoming every time I go and they truly care about your pets. The accreditation that they have is a BIG DEAL and it gives me peace of mind that their vet practice is up to a specific level of care that many Vets do not obtain. THANK YOU!

I love this Office! I had an emergency where my dog was bleeding and didn’t know where to go so I took her there without an appointment. They took me right away and did a great job. I’ve been going back ever since. The receptionist and tech are super friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Dr. Iseman is great and very thorough! Again, I can’t recommend them enough.

Kind and gentle with your animals

Wonderful local vet. We take our dog here for all emergency care and yearly check-ups. They always try to help same day when they can and always very friendly with both my big dog and old cat.

Great Staff! COVID friendly, and easy to find. There are two locations one in Elgin and the other in Camden. The pic is from the Elgin location. However, Lola has also boarded at the Camden location. The boarding units are really nice, some units hv a cam that u can log on and see what your fur baby is doing. Prices are very responsible, they do offer a military discount on some services. I couldn’t be happier. I have tried other Veterinary hospitals in northeast Columbia off of Clemson, and my experience at Wateree was far superior. Most importantly Lola was well taken care off while getting her exam and vaccines and than at the boarding facility.
