Update from my last two stars two days ago. After the glitch with the communication about procedure prep, the overall outcome was satisfying. Doc called me and went over the procedure and called me after for updates. However, I didn’t get any informations on what to expect after the procedure which definitely needed to be addressed considering what I’m experiencing with him. I ended up getting some guidance from my primary care vet. Happy that everything turned out well, but I wouldn’t go back in the future. I went to CVETS in the past for a surgery and the experience was much better. Only reason I went here is because my vet referred me.

Not worth the money. The only good thing about them is that they are open 24 hrs. I took my dog here and they were quoting for to look him over, sedation and pain meds were going to cost me $1k. I went to another place it was less than half of that and he is perfectly fine now.

I would just like to say I brought in a stray. Just wanted to make sure the pup was stable. They not only got the weight off by 10lbs, they misgendered the dog and did not notice there was a microchip. The vet was Heather McCann. 10/10 would not recommend. The pictures are cooper as we found him and after another vet shaved his matted hair off.

My dog is in there right now for a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow. They want to keep him overnight and why I don’t know. Originally the colonoscopy was scheduled for today so I dropped him off yesterday. However, after about an hour I dropped him off, I got a phone call telling me to go pick him up because he needed to be fasting. When they called me to schedule the appointment, I specifically asked for prep instructions and especially feeding. I was told to feed him and to send his food with him because he was able to eat until 10:00 pm of the night before the procedure. There’s obviously a broken communication between doctors and staff and I sure hope my dog will be well taken care of. Today when I dropped him off I asked if tomorrow after the exam was done, I could see the doctor and go over the imaging with her. They told that she probably won’t do that and she’ll just call me to go over the results. This is so disappointing. I sure hope my handsome companion is well taken care of. I don’t feel too comfortable with this hospital and this is why I decided to read other people experiences. I hope to be able to give you a good review after tomorrow, but as of right now I’m not at ease.

MISS SHE Rest in Peace Our outdoor cat, Miss She, was either hit by a car or attacked by an animal last night. She was wailing and bleeding so we Googled and found that SC Veterinary Specialist was open. Off we speed. After her initial evaluation, Dr. Stacy Kolb informed us via X-Rays and physical triage, that she had hip displacement, damage to her spine and a non related heart condition. You know the options and we decided that due to her blindness growing worse over the past year and her current condition that passing her on was the best option. Surgeries for a 14+ year old cat would only enhance her issues and cause continual pain and suffering. It is hard to play God. But, we know this was the best decision! We could not have been more pleased with the compassion, professionalism and confirmation of our decision to end her life in a compassionate way, by Dr. Kolb and Alyssa Turner, RVTG. Additionally, all staff we came in contact with were pleasant and acted with the urgency of the situation and consoling us per Miss She's outcome. God Bless All!!!

Well, actually dealing with BluePearl but if you want a super staff and great service and know that your furbaby is in good hands in a situation that your vet can't handle, this is the place.

Even though I’m typing behind tears I would love to thank SCVE and Dr Luke Watson. We lost mama girl Raw and 6 puppies overnight but he and his staff worked very hard to save 2 pups for us. She was such a sweet, gorgeous girl and she will forever be missed. Now we have 2 of her sons to carry on her life. Thank you SCVE & Dr Watson.

So impressed with this vet. We had to put our cat down very last minute due to an emergency injury and we were so distraught. The vet staff were amazing and so empathetic the entire time. We had an amazing experience in such a difficult situation. Thank you for being so wonderful.

It was a great place helpful staff. My husband is autistic and was having a melt down due to being overwhelmed by our sick dog. Everyone was amazing and handled him well. My only issue is with payment methods. They dont due payment plans and we were denied for their other options. Wish there was an options for credit issues. My dog shouldn't suffer because of my life circumstances

We really appreciated the level of care we got when visiting these veterinarians. Emergency visits are never a fun experience, but they were patient and understanding, and they talked us calmly through everything. I truly felt like they were honest and gave us the best level of care they could. They were quick about faxing our vet with her information, so it was there before I was even able to call them the next day. These are wonderful, knowledgeable people who truly care about animals.

Great staff! Very friendly, responsive and professional! Our Brittany Spaniel, Ali, ran into a metal beam last night and cut her leg while chasing a rabbit in the yard. We made the 50 minute drive to Columbia and they were ready for us when we got there. She got stitches and medications. Dr. Stephenson was very thorough while talking to us about what they did in the procedure, medications prescribed and aftercare. She even personally brought her back out to the truck. Thank you all so much!!

Dr. Senior spent an hour on the phone with me speaking on issues and how to approach them with my dog. I was blown away with how thorough the discharge notes were. I wish they were in our backyard instead of a few hours away. Fantastic office.

When my little dog needed back surgery the entire staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. Draper performed the surgery and my dog made a complete recovery. VCA is a great hospital! I highly recommend them.

Traveling and having our family dog with illness we were so pleased to have found help here after hours and all unfamiliar. We were pleased in every way with the care, concerns, and professional and easily understood explanation of medical issues with our dog. Treatment for immediate symptoms and follow up instructions written and verbal that were given. All questions answered and recommend this facility and all their staff to anyone in need.

Don’t waste your time. They don’t answer the phone. They don’t care about your pet or even care to check on them as you wait outside. I sat in the parking lot with a chronically sick animal who was actively vomiting for over 4 hours and they told me my case was not “as emergent” as the others and since they were short staffed they did not know when they would be able to see me. I am astonished by how they could be so rude and uncaring.

Staff and Veterinarian were extremely polite and also extremely helpful. I wish my regular Veterinarian was this thorough and this helpful. Unfortunately, Aiken, SC is small town with minimal competition thus local Veterinarian's give poor customer service and charge exorbitant fees.

My visit and I loved it. My baby curly is sick at the moment and I'm not feeling too good at the moment. But the love and support that I was given at this location is unbelievable. true story..... Cat is so sick right now I was willing to overdraft my account knowing I didn't have the funds, but I don't care I love my Curly. My card declined on me, so embarrassing right. They nicely set up installment plan me my baby and I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I was so overjoyed and still is. I really appreciated the work this ladies and gentlemen provided..I couldn't ask for better help..

Once again great care from all staff. Our mini dachshund presented with debilitating back pain this am. Dr. Kelly and the team were gentle, patient, efficient, and took great care with our dog, and the prices are affordable. I really appreciate how thorough they are, especially with discharge information. Dr. Kelly told us the diagnosis over the phone and it was ALL on the paperwork as well. They took extra time to make sure we knew how best to care for our dog as she recovers. We drive over an hour both ways and their team is worth it (dire emergency withstanding).

The worst experience I've ever had with a veterinarian! I was not allowed to be with my dog during her exam. They told me that they would call me with updates but they didn't. When I requested to pick up my dog to take her to another vet, they refused to give her back to me. I had to call the police to get her back! Horrible experience!!
