Uptown Veterinary Hospital Charlotte, South Carolina

Staff was very sweet and was great with my dog. Knowing my dogs background and medical history I was surprised at some of the results. He continuously shakes his head- I figured ear infection, but no. I was told that a very expensive allergy injection was highly recommended, I was skeptical because he doesn’t have allergies at the moment, but went along with it. Total bill was 370.00. 1 week later he’s still shaking his head and now the recommendation is a much cheaper ear ointment, which I asked about while there, but was told the injection was better. All in all not a bad experience, but I think there’s motivation to upsell at the pet owners expense which is the reason for my review.

Dr. Jen and each and every member of the staff at Uptown are so friendly, helpful, compassionate and eager to assist. I'd recommend Uptown Vet to every person with a furbaby - we do a 3 hour drive for some of our appointments with her. It's all about the trust!

I can’t say enough positive things about this vet practice!! I started using them 2 yrs ago when I used to live uptown but now have moved 45 min away. I’ve tried 5 other practices to find something closer and Uptown Vet is far above, in not only quality of care, but also customer service. They exude empathy and the vets actually sit with you and talk through the issues and possible options all while not making me feel ashamed for not having an endless amount of money to spend. They don’t rush through a visit and genuinely care. I have been frustrated by some of the office policies but overall the care, professionalism and authentic kindness eclipses any small frustrations.

Really not sure where all of these great reviews come from. Receptionists don’t care. Uptown vet only wants money and will try to charge you for random services i never asked for and had to inquire about in order to realize the service was not what I even relevant to my visit. Employees sit around upfront and chat. I can hear them through another room Which I sat for 45 minutes to get a result from an ear swab test that took 10 minutes. I had to physically put my dog on the scale myself(I thought vet techs or someone who works there does that?) I’ve been with this vet for 2 years and probably the only reason I stuck around was COVID. I sat in my car. Don’t come here. Where did all the good reviews come from?

I have been bringing my fur babies to Uptown Vet for about a year now and they are incredible with them. The care and compassion of Dr Jen is something I had not found more locally to my area, I drive 45 minutes. She is thorough and doesn’t sell services. She is honest and treats my animals as if they are her own. I highly recommend Uptown Veterinary Hospital!

I am not one to publicly complain, but had a poor experience. The bill was much higher than quoted, and has not helped my dog.. brought him in for a minor issue and would not feel comfortable going back, especially for anything serious.

They are always warm, friendly and helpful whenever I call, email or bring my dog in. Extremely happy I found them!

The best Charlotte vet!! I have tried multiple vets in Charlotte (probably at least 6) and I will never choose another after visiting uptown vet! The vet and team members are extremely friendly and comforting. I love that they have a separate room for dog patients and cat patients. My cat is so much more relaxed being in a room without dog smells. They equip the cat room with a pheromone plug in to calm down kitties, a litter box, toys and a scratching post. Most other vets have just have cold tile floor and a cold metal table. We had to keep our sick kitty there for an entire workday, and the office did such a great job calling us with updates regularly to calm our nerves. I couldn’t ask for better care and compassion. Also, for an uptown vet, the prices are very fair. The vet actually saved us money once by suggesting a cheaper X-ray scan vs a more expensive one (which wasn’t necessary for the issue). Usually vets will try and milk every dollar from you. Not this one. We loved them so much we brought them flowers for taking such good care of our fur baby :)

Great and very professional staff and doctors. I called and explained to them my dog symptoms and they got him in for a same day appointment, they examined him and prescribed the needed meds. I will recommend them to anyone, originally referred by the Humane Society of Charlotte. Thanks Chubbs and Keisha

We just started taking our Mini Goldendoodle Charlie to Uptown Veterinary Hospital and we couldn’t be more satisfied with our experience. Dr. Jen went above and beyond to make Charlie feel comfortable. She spent more than 20mins on the phone with me discussing Charlie’s visit and taking time to address all my concerns. Everyone was friendly and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend! (Pic for cuteness)

I can't say enough good things about this vet office!!!!!!! After a friend's referral and reading online reviews, I knew this was the place I trusted with my first puppy. Dr. Jen and her ENTIRE staff are the absolute best! I am not an 'easy' new dog momma bc I'm paranoid about everything but this office has brought me so much comfort. Every person I talked to/interacted with was so caring, helpful and informative. Dr. Jen took her time explaining everything and gave her open, honest opinion. I really appreciated how they asked for verbal consent prior to doing any treatment and at the end of the visit they gave a full itemized receipt AS WELL AS estimated invoices for upcoming appts! They truly go above and beyond and recommend them to everyone! :)

Dr Jen and staff are absolutely wonderful with my puppy, Louie. He really is excited to see them every time he goes which makes me know they treat him extremely well. Although I’ve never been inside or met Dr Jen due to Covid restrictions, I feel completely confident in knowing she’s giving the best care for my baby. I truly appreciate the time she spends fielding much questions by phone and email. She’s always thorough and I highly recommend you take your fur baby to her.

I have been to many Vets over the years and this clinic is by far my favorite. I've never had a Veterinarian spend so much time discussing my dog's health, treatment and future care as I've had here. The clinic is immaculate and the staff is incredibly knowledgable and friendly. I highly recommend VetweRx.

Greatest Veterinary Facility in Charlotte.

Wonderful vet, and very caring and informative with everything to do with my new puppy! They have been great providing everything needed, with a great clear breakdown to be as open, communicative, and professional as possible. You often go to vets and your pet is nervous and skittish, but not here, my puppy always comes in and is happy and treated well... and this is all while COVID-19 were everything has been virtual. I am very happy, and Petra loves her doctors!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The office was immaculate, every person I interacted with was so sweet, they were incredible with my dog and I felt no pressure to purchase optional treatments or products. This is an amazing vet! All of the staff and doctors here have always treated my dog Waldo and myself with honesty, respect and genuine care since our very first visit. Love this place and would highly recommend!

Recently took my cat who had developed breathing issues here. Dr. Eric really listened to my concerns and understood that financially we can’t always run all of the tests and labs that we would want to. He took the time to help figure out her breathing issues and seemed to really care about getting her better. She’s on a medication plan now and doing so much better. Khori and Traci were so gentle with my cat and made her feel very comfortable. I’m so grateful for the time and care of the whole team here. Would definitely recommend.

Dr.Jen is amazing ! She treated me and my senior special needs pet like family. I am new to the area and I was very nervous to see a new vet considering my dogs intensive medical history . I would highly recommend . Parking is also free and validated for easy access in uptown .

I have been taking my pups to Uptown Veterinary Hospital for 2 years now, and every visit has been an outstanding experience! Jen and her team are so caring and friendly. Jen Larson will provide you with an abundance of useful information that will put your mind at ease. She also gives you the option to stay in the room during vaccinations and asks for approval before doing anything. We feel very welcomed and well taken care of there, which is why we travel from the Northlake area.

We switched to this vet shortly after moving uptown and could not be happier. The staff is very friendly and genuinely care about the animals. Great communication between the doctor and staff always calling to give updates. Great prices as well!

Had such an a great experience with Dr Tempel in Friday. My 11 year-old dog had somehow hurt herself and for days we couldn't identify the pain because she was squealing for seemingly no reason. He did an extensive physical exam and Kaya trusted him immediately although it was very painful. We could tell he genuinely cared and kaya trusted he was doing what he could to help her. He figured out it was her neck and was squealing from moving her neck. We entered Friday hopeless and with the pain meds prescribed and switching to harness drastic improvement in just days. In her 11 years I'd never found a Dr I really trusted, but I am grateful to if found Uptown Vet.

We have been very happy with the staff at Uptown Vet throughout all of our appointments. The whole staff is kind and accommodating. Dr. Jen and Dr. Eric are wonderful - they treat our dog as if he was their own. They are extremely thoughtful, thorough and caring with our dog and we fully trust them with his well-being. We had an incident last week where our 6 month old dog swallowed a toy. Dr. Jen made herself available for an evening phone call to discuss the situation. She also made an appointment for us first thing the following morning to get some X-Rays done and didn’t charge us. This is just one example of how they’ve gone above and beyond for us, we would highly recommend this vet office!

We have been with Uptown Veterinary Hospital for over a year now and we have had the best experience with them! All of the staff are very friendly and comforting. I can't say enough good things about Dr Jen. On top of being incredibly knowledgeable, she has the most soothing voice and manner that puts the animals (and owners) at ease. We brought our dog in recently for a procedure and Dr Jen took unplanned time out of her day to go back over everything with us and answer all of our questions (again).
