I was referred here by my normal veterinary when my golden retriever was having some very serious pooping problems. I called them and they were super helpful- they are walk-in only so you fill out your intake forms on their website, head to …

I most highly recommend PawMed!! The kindness and care they showed us and especially our girl Gypsy was immeasurable!! From the call to get directions, ’til we were walking out the door, it was evident that all pets and owners were going to get the best care possible!! Thank you for taking time to hear our concerns and above all helping Gypsy get better!! Y’all are the best!!

Our pup had some major digestive issues including blood in her stool so we took her into Pawmed in a Sunday. The wait time is no joke but the service made up for it. They were so caring, personable and thorough with her and us. They even identified a few things that needed to be taken care of that our vet should have told us 6 months ago. The other nice surprise was that the cost wasn't anything like what I would get at my normal vet with a scheduled appointment. I'm looking for a new vet now and so thankful for Pawmed!

My furry dude Iko and I are so grateful for Aimee and Dr. DeRespino and the rest of the staff at PawMed. Iko had two visits within two weeks and both times he received excellent care. Dr. DeRespino was thorough and patient and took time to answer all of my questions. She helped me understand the urgent needs and long term care plan options for Iko and gave me resources for after care and prevention. It’s obvious she stays on top of current veterinary research and practices. The office also communicated with my regular vet to ensure continuity of care. This was greatly appreciated, as I know I wouldn’t have been able to accurately remember or relay all the details on my own. Plus, the costs are incredibly reasonable and much less expensive than a true emergency vet hospital. I am grateful to have access to this facility and highly recommend PawMed for urgent care needs.

I got there 15 mins before they opened, then they opened 15 mins late. Then I signed a google doc that said they don’t work on triage, they see first come first serve. The guy behind me was seen before me and since they are short staffed that means a lot of time…. If you don’t have time to spare, don’t come here. I hope they are able to help my baby but I’m going to have to WAIT and see

First off...I read the one star reviews as well as the 5 star and came to the conclusion they didn't read on their web site or within the form you do online where it clearly states they aren't an emergency vet. It's terrible that their pups were sick but it's not their fault if you don't read what your signing or in general read about them. Now, onto my review. These folks are awesome. I have a regular vet but they were booked. Morrisons Vet highly recommended them. The entire staff was engaged during the visit and took such good care handling my Charlie. If you don't have a critical situation or horrific injury these are the folks to come see. I wish them the greatest success.

These guys are great. On the worst day of our lives as pet owners, they really made the process as painless as it could be. We just really felt like everyone generally cared, and the doctor was amazing. We will be returning for all our veterinary needs in the future.

The staff at Pawmed has been there for us on multiple occasions when our pups needed care. I highly recommend them!

I can't say enough good things about PawMed. I took my dog here the other night. I drove all the way from Walterboro and would do it again if I had to. Dr. DeRespino & Caroline were amazing. Dr. D listened to my concerns and answered every question I had. I have never felt more heard by a Vet in my life, and I spend a good deal of time at the vets with 5 pets haha. Caroline was so good with Lake, she didn't force him to be restrained at all and just worked with him in whatever position he was most comfortable in. & tbh I'm not sure who was more hurt about Lake getting a needle stick for an IV, him or Caroline! I wish I could use them as my regular wellness clinic, that's how much I loved the care and treatment my pet received. So glad that Lake is on the mend and doing much better thanks to these two. I'd give PawMed five stars any day of the week.

Please take your baby to this facility only if it he is dealing with a minor illness.

UPDATE: I received a call from PawMed and they not only apologized but spoke with me at length about how they are tackling the issue and working to make the practice better for pets and parents alike. I didn't expect that and the doctor was very receptive to feedback. I'm confident they care about the animals they treat and I would give them another chance. ********************* I'm sure the service is fine once you actually get inside. But asking people to keep their pets in hot cars in summer weather for two hours or more while they wait is not a good model for anyone. Get an app that will tell people when to head to the clinic or call people and tell them when to come. Don't just tell people to come and sit around for hours. Unsafe for pets.

If we could give Dr. Marscher and team more than 5 stars we would! We brought our puppy in when we couldn’t get her in to our normal vet. She wasn’t eat, drinking and was pretty lethargic. Dr. Marscher took his time with Leni evaluating and giving her test, even though they were about close. Dr. Marscher explained all our options to us and helped us figure out which was best course of action. He proceeded to check in on how Leni was responding to treatments throughout the week. Overall, he made a really rough week a little more bearable. We wish he could be our normal veterinarian!

I absolutely love PawMed. Dr Marscher always takes care of our dogs to the umpth degree and is upfront about procedures, testing, not over medicating, as well as being very accommodating. He will answer all of your questions thoroughly. His staff are equally fantastic and pleasant to interact with. I only wish he was a primary vet so we could get our dogs the best care on a regular basis instead of freak accidents/bee stings/ or our primary care vet being too busy for urgent drop ins.

Dr. Marscher is the absolute BEST there is! My dog was having seizures that kept getting progressively worse, so I took him in to see Dr. Marscher. First of all, it is the cleanest vet office with the nicest staff. Upon evaluating, Dr. Marscher explained all the different options that we could take, but instead of suggesting we do all sorts of tests, etc right out of the gate, he recommended starting on a medication first to see if that helped before spending all the money on tests that may not be needed should the medication work. Happy to report, the medication he prescribed has worked wonders (no seizures to date and it's been over 6 months), so we not only have a happy healthy dog, but were able to avoid the unnecessary expenses of tests due to his expertise! HIGHLY recommend Dr. Marscher, as he treats his patients (both furbabies and humans) as if they were his own friends and family!!

I had an excellent experience today with PawMed. Couldn't get my Reggie in to see our normal vet and he was having significant pain. I took him to PawMed and was in a room with Reggie within 20 minutes. The staff are incredible with my dog! He usually does NOT like strangers or being touched much around his feet. He let the ladies touch him freely. He even got up and walked immediately for them, something he hasn't really been willing to do at home. I was impressed with Dr M's touch. Reggie didn't protest much at all when he did what he needed to do which involved heavily touching and probing to find source of pain. Reggie was treated well and responded well to them. They gave me solid info backed by x-rays and blood lab work to base decisions on. They addressed his pain and gave helpful instructions for his care going forward and helped ME tremendously by letting me know Reggie isn't a goner. There is hope for healing and better days. If this were a regular vet's office, I'd sign all 3 of my pets up TODAY. It is very nice to know we have a veterinary urgent care with professional, skilled, kind, and compassionate people here in the Charleston area. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PAWMED to anyone who's animal is in need and can't wait for the normal vet visit. I was very happy with Reggie's visit and would give them 6 stars if possible.

Usually I don’t do reviews. But way before they finish, I love them already!!!!, and the price, was super good for a emergency clinic. When the doctor seated on the floor, Smoky went to him. He is so friendly and sweet, and the girls too. The place is nice and clean, they explain everything to you real good, and they let you know how much it’s before doing anything. To bad is only emergency. I will love them to be Smoky Vet????????????????????

Took my dog here because he was having intense seizures and my primary care vet couldn't see him. I called ahead of time and told them I was rushing there. I got there and called to check in. They didn't come out for 35 minutes to get him, in which time he had another major seizure. A staff member came out while I was laying in my backseat holding him while he was convulsing and foaming at the mouth. They literally walked away and went back inside after telling me they couldn't see him, while he was seizing. No offer to help, no compassion. Nothing. I then had to drive 20 minutes away to another facility to have him seen. At the next spot, as soon as I pulled up and called they rushed out and brought him in for treatment. How can you call yourself "urgent care" and then do this? I am shocked and extremely upset with the lack of professionalism, empathy, and concern. I will never return there.

Dr. Marscher and the staff at PawMed helped my cat tonight and I am so grateful! My cat ate a square of cotton this evening around 6 pm. My vet was closing and Charleston Veterinary Referral Center was slammed with emergencies. Since my cat wasn't choking or in obvious distress, CVRC recommended taking her to PawMed. I called up and was seen relatively quickly, and best of all they were able to induce vomiting and she coughed up the cotton. She is home now and doing fine. A fine job done by all, and it was so much less expensive than I would have imagined. Thank you PawMed! Y'all are the best!

My Millie got stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction. Her primary care was booked so they referred me here. Paperwork was easy and I barely had to wait. The doctor and techs were amazing with her. It was very comforting how fast Millie got help. Thank you!

I brought my dog here after he was attacked by a pack of the neighbors dogs 2 weeks ago and do not have enough kind things to say about Dr. Marscher and his staff. Fenway’s initial encounter and follow ups have all been great visits - everyone here is so patient, kind, and thorough. I cannot recommend PawMed enough, and am so incredibly grateful to have them as a resource. Thank you, thank you, thank you again for all you guys have done for us!!

Dr Marscher did such an amazing job with my dog (who can be a bit of handful.) He went in with a very nasty neck wound and came out clean and happy. The entire processes was quick and the staff was very friendly. Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!

Our Rottie started limping and whimpering in pain throughout the day. We took her to PawsMed. Dr. Marscher and the staff were outstanding in caring for our dog. They kept us updated while the exam, testing and x-ray were done. In the end, it was determined that she had a severe case of arthritis. Dr. Marscher came out, showed us the images, explained her condition and treatment options. He also gave us some referrals to vets in North Carolina, where we were traveling next. I felt we received as good as care as we would have had we taken her to our regular vet back home. HIGHL:Y RECOMMEND PawsMed Charleston, SC.

Highly recommend. We made the difficult decision to let our twenty year old cat go. Dr. Marscher was very compassionate and caring. He never rushed us and allowed us to have all the time we needed to say goodbye. Our baby had the most peaceful passing. We went in not knowing what fully to expect. Dr. Marscher informed us every step of the way what to expect. Dr. Marscher provided exceptional care. Would give ten stars if i could.

I had a wonderful experience! The staff were friendly, informative and straightforward. Everything was discussed beforehand and I felt included in the decision making process. Compared to a similar experience elsewhere in the past, Pawmed was affordable and showed they cared about the customer, both myself and my furbaby!

I would give above 5 stars if I could. Dr. Marscher and the staff at PawMed were quick and extremely kind with my cat, able to get me in early and treat her effectively and quickly. Not only do they have excellent care, but they are just quality people. I had an important virtual meeting to attend after the appointment, and my car wouldn't start. They came out to check on me multiple times, and even offered to set up a space for me to have my meeting should I need it. I was so touched by their kindness.

I would highly recommend this vet office to anyone that needs their pet to be seen in timely manner. Not only is this an affordable urgent care, the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgable. I had taken my puppy (who has severe food allergies and intestinal issues) to countless vets in the area, none resolved his issues as quickly and effectively as this vet.

What a wonderful experience we had at PawMef. Even though we had to put our 16 year old DJ down, they were very very professional and cared about our feels. I would highly recommend them.
