The office seems to be managed very well. They call you when they say they will and follow up join everything. The staff and the vet were very compassionate to me and my pet. Everything about my visit was positive.

My family has been coming to Oaklawn Animal Hospital since it was just Dr. Paul and met Dr. Courtney when she was brand new with him. This went from being a quality practice to being a factory with staff that does not care and lacks compassion. Most recently, my dog tore his right cruciate ligament, just 4 months after tearing his left. His left back leg was weak and when he tore his right, he could not walk. He was in excruciating pain. I called oaklawn and spoke to a secretary and explained that we could not get him up due to pain and weakness. They would not prescribe medications as this was a new problem and told me to use an urgent care 90 minutes away that didn’t open until late afternoon. When I explained this to the secretary, she told me to just put pee pads under him. They refused to accommodate him in their schedule and refused to prescribe any medications, even to make him comfortable until we could see the surgeon. To tell me to put pee pads under my dog so he could lay in his own urine just shows how heartless they have become. In addition to this, they refused to prescribe the thyroid medications that our dog is on, which expire in 5 days and we cannot get an appointment until January with another vet. Finally two family members have also recently left this vet, one due to them rupturing one of the dogs anal glands. Stay away from the office.

My dog Roxy had a severe breathing problem and a fever.I took her to Oaklawn Animal Hospital and they put her on antibiotics and a saline solution. She is doing much better. Thank you from me and Roxy for making her feel so much better,

My visit exceeded my expectations. The front end staff is super kind and welcoming. Dr. Mahaney is the greatest. Dr. Mahaney has always made me feel listened to. She takes her time to explain procedures / risks / benefits. She treated my dog, Bailey for several years. I can’t believe I took our puppy Kaia anywhere else. It’s a huge relief to be back at Oaklawn and feel comfortable with Kaia’s medical providers.

I’ve been bringing my two schnauzers here for almost 3 years, if not longer. I used to see a vet in Warwick by the airport that never once made me feel like a client, but rather just another invoice and wallet. The staff and doctors at Oaklawn AH are the best! So so so sweet and caring! They make me feel comfortable and do an amazing job returning calls, scheduling, answering questions and nurturing your pet. Max and Lily love you all! Thanks for your great service!

We recently have to put our beloved basset Baxter down and the kindness and compassion shown to us during this very difficult time from the Oaklawn staff was absolutely heartwarming. It made a difficult time a little bit easier and I can't thank them enough. Dr Courtney took amazing care of Baxter since he was 8 weeks old like he belonged to her. Dr Victoria was a kind and understanding as if she attended to Bax for his 10 years. Thanks for your kind words....

Highly recommend! I chose this vet because theyre one of the few AAHA accredited clinics in the area, and I have been very happy with the care my pups have received. The doctors are very knowledgeable and the techs are helpful and kind. The receptionists are patient and always pleasant. Wait times have been long, but that's to be expected given covid restrictions. I appreciate everything Oaklawn does to keep my dogs healthy!

It has always been a struggle taking Rocky to the vet. He isn’t a fan at all. Dr. Mahaney and the vet tech made him feel so comfortable! And me as well as an anxious dog mama. They fed him cheese and baby food through his muzzle to get him to trust them and at the end of the visit after all hands on duties were completed the muzzle was able to come off! I was so comfortable during the whole visit as was he. The visit lasted about 45 minutes and I feel as though Dr Mahaney really listened and focused in on how to bed help Rocky. I am so beyond happy we made the switch to Oaklawn!! Thank you SO much!! His smile after his visit that day says it all!!!

This is the first time I visited this location. I was extremely satisfied with the care my dog Bradie received. They explained everything I needed to know about his condition and what needed to be done. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.

We have had really good experiences with Oaklawn Animal Hospital. The techs and vets that care for our puppy are very professional and knowledgeable. Our puppy is well taken care of and we trust that they are doing the best for him. The only thing I would ask is if they could use a more holistic approach for certain ailments instead of using pharmaceuticals. Being a holistic health and wellness coach, I always take a holistic approach before using medications.

Let me start by saying that I have used Oaklawn/Cranston Animal Hospital for almost 6 years and until recently they were amazing! The staff is friendly, they genuinely care for the animals. I have no insane horror stories, just too many small things adding up to the point that I have switch vets. First of all, getting appointments has been extremely difficult. They will say they only have 2 vets (1 in each location) and then throw in that they’re “one of the only vets still taking new patients”. If you’re understaffed and can’t take the patients that you already have then WHY ARE YOU STILL ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS? One of my dogs injured his leg and when I called to get him in they were unable to take him for THREE WEEKS! If my vet can’t get my injured/sick pet in in a reasonable amount of time then something is just not right. I found another vet that took him the very next day, charged less and had a discounted office visit fee for quick checkups. I took in two kittens last year and waited 3 months to get in for checkups and shots. Then waited another SIX MONTHS for their appointments to get neutered. By the time I had already lined up a new vet for my critters and made up my mind on this switch this appointment was right around the corner so I stuck with it. I was supposed to pick my cats up at 4pm and I rushed to get there in time. It took an angry phone call after already waiting in the parking lot for 30 minutes for me to finally have my cats be given to me after a total of 45 minutes of waiting in their parking lot. Another reason for my switch is the fact that they nickel and dime you all the way. They talk about how your pet needs 80$ bottles of vitamins and give you the impression it’s a prescription when it’s not. This has always been a problem with them, but has become even more annoying now that we are not entering the building and going over invoices before handing over payment because it’s much harder to catch and put a stop to. My new vet doesn’t do this despite the fact that they have a store as well. After 6 years as a loyal client, it wouldn’t be fair if I don’t mention the good as well. When I lost my 17 year old cat, their staff was incredible. They were so kind and I could tell that they absolutely felt the pain of my loss. I will always be grateful to Cranston Animal Hospital for helping me through that very difficult loss. When one of my dogs got sick at 2 years old, they treated him and he alive and thriving now 5 years later. I will always be grateful for their service. At this point though I have had it with the constant over selling and I can’t stay with a vet that will continue to take new clients despite being unable to meet the needs of existing clients so I am cutting ties. My vet visits have become increasingly more frustrating and expensive and while their staff is fantastic there are other vets out there they provide the same genuine, caring service without all of the headaches.
