If your looking to get something done or appointment in a timely manner, go somewhere else. While Dr. Moussa is amazing the rest of the staff leaves much to be desired. They often drag their feet on filling prescriptions, often then incorrectly fill them, and will go days without completing a request. If you raise an issues no one will be able to resolve it because no one is willing to speak to you. It goes as far as incorrect prescriptions, procedures for pets, and incorrect medicine only to have to purchase more and different scripts.

This used to be a good place to take your pet but that changed under the new management. Numerous times my pet was given expensive tests they recommended and I was told they would reach out to me with the results. I never heard from them and had to contact them to get the results. They clearly didn’t care anymore once I had paid the bill and walked out the door. They also did a poor job keeping the medication my pet needs to live in stock. It’s understandable that supply chains are not normal but waiting until the day of to notify the medicine is not available is outrageous! There are many other options for veterinarians in York. I would not recommend East York Veterinary Center because they don’t prioritize the well being of their patients.

My first time there. I was greeted by friendly staff. Very clean. The vet and tech were very helpful and nice. They took very good care of my kitten and explained everything that was going on.

Dr Moussa is amazing, a real Healer. Max was anxious today at his visit with Dr Moussa and Max calmed down immediately...it was simply awesome to witness. Thank you.

Honestly, I am very torn to make this review. Because there were a few people who worked at this clinic that are kind, and yet I’ve just felt let down enough times that I felt I must leave. I have multiple pets and multiple disappointments. Some less severe than others, but disappointed none the less. I started coming to this vet when I moved to York because a friend worked there (who has since left). I continued to support them and give the benefit of the doubt but most of my disappointment started after covid. I’ll start with my bird Yuichi- cockatiel He suddenly came down with an illness that was discovered when I came home from work.. it was 9pm and my boyfriend were calling emergency vet clinics up to 2+ hours away and NOBODY had an avian vet on duty. I contacted my friend who worked at East York and she contacted their avian vet and told me I could bring him in first thing in the morning. I arrived immediately when they opened and called the office and told them I was there for an emergency with my bird. The people at the desk told me they were not taking emergency visits and I would need to go elsewhere. I explained to them that the avian vet knew of my arrivial and that she told me I could come in and that I had already called multiple clinics. They still denied me service. I contacted my friend crying and after she had talked to them they called me back and took my bird. They never talked to me about taking blood work, or doing X-rays. They told me they “couldn’t find anything visibly wrong” sent me home with anti biotics, charged me with the emergency fee and sent me on my way. I give 2 stars because the avian vet did at least call and ask for updates which I appreciated. But he wasn’t recovering. I took him to a second vet for a second opinion where they took skin scrapes, blood work, and xrays to find the problem. Unfortunately he still passed before any answers came back. Odin- German Shepherd Odin has been a client since we adopted him. He is stranger shy, which is a very common trait for this breed. Around April of last year I brought him in for an ear infection. Previously to this infection he had to visit the emergency vet (different location) that East York was aware of. I do not know what happened behind closed doors of the emergency vet, but it made Odin extra anxious about being taken into a vet clinic by strangers. While he was in there, they had dropped the leash and Odin backed himself into a corner and growled when they tried to muzzle him. On the phone, I was asked to come in and retrieve him because they were afraid to get near him. I was told I needed to bring him back a different day with a muzzle and that he was aggressive due to bad breeding and needed a behaviorist (which I had a personal trainer work with him for a month prior who was never even concerned about him being “aggressive”) I was also encouraged to get him neutered earlier than I had wanted to “curve” these aggressive traits. I followed instructions and got him neutered which I have regretted. Upon thinking of the whole experience over and over, I couldn’t help but be on my dogs side. He was scared and in pain in a unfamiliar room full of strangers who wanted to muzzle him. I have since taken him to a fear free facility and he has had no issues. He doesn’t even need his muzzle. (And just as a side note to this story, my new vet and i contacted VCA for weeks trying to get them to send odin’s records over until they finally did) I have more stories, but some are only mild frustrations that aren’t worth the 2 star review. All I would like to express is this. East York, please take different approaches to train your staff. Fearful dogs do not always equal reactive dogs, and though I understand being cautious, it’s unfair to label them without trying to work with them. All it took for my dog was a little play and patience which i feel if this was demonstrated properly the first time he wouldn’t have had such a negative reaction. Also hear people out before immediately denying them service. Thank you. I hope you do better.

Despite foul weather staff was attentive and kind to my dog. Vet was thorough and my dog warned to him immediately. Diagnostic tests completed and medication dispensed. Staff instructed me so I could provide in home care. This Vet office accepts care credit which makes payments over time possible. Clean, orderly waiting room and exam room. Staff efficient and friendly.

We called today because one of our parakeets suddenly became sick and we were trying to get them seen asap. The lady that answered the phone was very dismissive and told me they aren't seeing new patients. I could barely explain our situation, I asked if she knew any other avian vets in the area since they're not easy to find. She told me no is have to call around. We did find an emergency vet in Lancaster but unfortunately our bird died on the way.

Pretty good vet and friendly staff but the pharmacy is horrible don’t expect a phone call or update on a prescription. Every time we call no matter if it’s speaking to someone or leaving a message we never get a phone call that it’s ready to pick up. We figured they were short staffed it happens but this has happened every time over the course of a year. We tried to get the medication from chewy but the vet won’t release it to chewy. We try to alway give them a week to get it sorted and call us but they never do. So unreliable, so frustrating. We can get the medication cheaper online from chewy but the vet won’t release it. We always run out of medication and have to call the vet again just to get them to fill it. If you are going to charge a premium for a service and medication at least make it worth my time and money. Think about going else where if you need medications.

They’ve always taken care of my baby. They’re a little expensive and they don’t have a nice app like Banfield though.

The vet never returned our phone calls. We had to call several times for each and every refill on my dog's meds. When it came time to let our girl go, we contacted another Veterinary hospital and used their services. We'll never use East York Vet again.

Very friendly staff. Our dog had a great time at his checkup and the price was not as bad as I thought. About $100 for the welcome visit and lab test.

I could go on and on about how amazing this vet is since working with Dr. Moussa. She has spent the last couple months dedicating so much time into our dog Maci, and it’s meant the world to us. She is always there to answer calls and talks for however long we need. She treats our dog like it’s her own, and treats us like we are friends/family! She went out of her way to donate to our gofundme page for our dogs upcoming expenses - that’s how amazing she is. Thank you Dr. Moussa for everything. I always send the vet text messages - which is such a convenient thing to have, and they are always super quick to respond. They’re always kind and helpful too. I’m really glad we found this place!

My experience with this vet led me to find out about "fear free certifications" because this vet doesn't operate that way. I took my dog in because we suspected lyme disease. She will have a limp on one leg and it has times of being better and worse. Without going into all the details, a simple google search showed a strong connection to Lyme. Without talking to us first, they suspected the limp (that wasn't presenting at the time) was because of long nails. The dog was scared so they used 3 vet techs to pin this little 9 pound dog to the table to clip her nails. Even if it weren't a completely incompetent thought under the specific circumstances, they have now made it much more difficult to ever get her to cooperate with a vet in the future. They made decisions and charged us for them without discussing with us first. They were not giving enough weight to the symptoms we were describing, while stating that they "do believe us," yet actions were to the contrary. Poor communication, rough handling, and lack of transparency in costs gives this vet 1 out of 5 and we won't be going back or recommending.

I loved using East York Vet Center for over 8 years. I have several animals which are all spayed/neutered, shots up to date etc. I had to take a cat to the emergency vet which was recommended by my regular vet. I did that and needed to reach out to my vet for further care. I was told there are no appointments for at least 3 weeks... take him back to the emergency vet! Obviously that was upsetting to hear that they could not see him for over 3 weeks. He is back at the emergency vet. I assume since they can not fit a regular customer in that I must find a new vet. FRUSTRATING especially because I really liked the vets and their service!!!!! SAD DAY

I hate to write reviews like this, but I just have to be honest. I gave this clinic a chance for a solid year. More often than not, I was always disappointed. Between high turnover of vets, poor advice from a particular vet that caused my animal to go off the deep end, and not the best customer service, I finally had to call it quits and go elsewhere. There have been countless times where I was told I would get a callback for a question that I had; I never did. When it was time for prescriptions to be refilled, I had to call and stay on top of them every day for a week before anything happened. I asked to have my own pet's health records as I am the owner and have spent plenty of money on her just to be told I'm not allowed to have them. Needless to say, I have already switched to a new vet practice and they handed me all of her printed out medical records right away without batting an eyelash. I was also allowed to go in with my pet at the new vet while wearing a mask during these unprecedented times. I truly hope the owner reads this as the business strategies need re-visited. I may not be a vet, but I know what it takes to own and run a business as well as manage employees in customer service, and this 100% isn't it.
