They are a nice group of people that placed my lost cat on their list.

I found a stray dog. They scanned him for a chip and also immediately fed and bathed him. I ultimately was able to locate the owner, but would like to thank the SPCA for taking the dog until I was able to do so.

I had gotten approved for a cat online and received a phone call with a voice mail saying I was approved, so me and my sister went in to pick one out. We're waiting at the adoption desk for at least 20 min the worker is no where to be found, she finally gets back from whatever the hell she was doing I say politely that I was approved online and was looking to set up an appointment. She then goes on to say you can't get approved online "with an attitude mind you" as I respond, yes you can I was approved 'blah blah blah' she then says, well I can't set you up an appointment! Maybe we outta hire associates with some common respect :)

Amazing human beings. To work there is incredibly tough and some are not even paid. There is a special place in heaven for people like that.

Although they are doing so much for the community staff is very untruthful about the dogs. I understand wanting to get the animals homes but with out full disclosure they are putting people in danger

Really great people. Adopted the sweetest little deaf pittie. Staff did everything possible to make the process easy for us. Go on down and give one of these angels their forever homes.

They were very caring. We had to take our family Dog there after she passed at home from lymphoma and it was a Sunday. They explained everything and were very compassionate

Very rude and judgmental staff. They had made the implication that if they could not make the kittens we found and surrendered they would have to “get rid of them” (assuming put them down), I’d recommend going to blue chip instead for lost and found animals and adoption.

I rescued two dogs over the past 26 yrs from this shelter. Each lived 13 wonderful years in my home. Sadly my bronxie passed a few weeks ago. I visited this shelter, and once again fell in love with my next fur-ever friend. I take my dog to the vet for regular visits and keep up with any shots. I have not had any problems adopting with them and am treated with respect and kindness. The kennels might be old BUT were extremely CLEAN! All the employees I spoke with were very friendly and helpful. Having a dog is a wonderful joy in life but it's also a financial responsibility. The shelter only wants to ensure that you are prepared for this. Any responsible pet owner knows the importance of vet visits and keeping your fur baby healthy. I respect and appreciate all employees and volunteers at the luzerne county SPCA and will continue adopting there.❤

We had such a wonderful experience in adopting our dog from this shelter. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The dogs are well taken care of and loved there. We got a care package when we adopted our dog which included two collars, toys, and treats.
