Boarded my dog Ace here for the first time while we went on A Disney trip. The staff was super sweet and well educated and took very good care of my boy! He had a blast! I love that pictures and videos are posted daily and the updates I got when he was picked up to come home! I would definitely bring him here again and considering putting him in doggy daycare a few days a week after this experience . Thanks so much !!!

My friend has been using Colonnial Kennel for 20 years for his dog. He is very happy with the care his dog receives...and how does Whitney feel..."she loves it"

It's a Mom and Pop type business, but they'll take excellent care of your dogs.

For kenneling: We had our pup stay for a week at Colonial Kennels. Deb the owner, took very good care of him. Our dog gets himself so worked up that he gives himself diarrhea, so we make him a blend diet for his week stay. Deb called us right away, worked with our Vet to get our pup the medicine he needed for the diarrhea and his nerves, changed his meal times to try and control the diarrhea, and placed him into smaller groups to help with our pup’s anxiety. I wish I could express all of my overwhelming happy emotions for Deb’s kennel. Deb goes above and beyond for the care of your pup. Deb understands dogs and knows how to work with dogs. You can tell she works with her staff to teach them what she knows about dogs and she makes them listen to the customer and write down the customer’s concerns. For daycare: We had a problem with our pup chewing on something and he was giving himself sores. Even the staff couldn’t figure out what he was chewing on. (Our boy was sneaky on hiding what he was chewing on.) So, we (Deb and I) agreed that we would take everything away that he could chew on. Eventually, we found what he was chewing on and found a way to get him to stop. Sending our pup to daycare, allowed the staff to become familiar with him, so when it came time for that long week, the staff knew what to expect from our pup. If you still are undecided about this kennel: We have a friend that sends their German Shepherds at Colonial Kennels for daycare. Their one shepherd started out in a group by himself. In time, Deb found dogs that he could play with.

Pearl, while staying there, developed some health issues during our vacation away. She was taken care of in a loving and caring way by everyone there. We are so thankful for all you did.

Deborah runs a clean, loving kennel. Her skills with keeping dogs and cats and her knowledge about their needs and psychology are really impressive. I can drop off my dogs, which are so happy to arrive, knowing I have placed them in very capable hands. Donna is absolutely wonderful and the staff are always courteous, attentive and aware. I tried other kennels brfore finding Colonial. This is the only kennel I will use.Trust them to care for your beloved pets.

Very attentive to your dog. They send pictures to you so you can see your pet and you can see videos of your pet on the daily runway walk.

Took our dogs here for their first time away from home on an extended vacation for us. We were concerned as they weren't very socialized but was put at ease by the owner & handler (Deb & Mike). We did an overnight stay before leaving so it was a familiar setting. We were happy to see Instagram photos/vidoes of our dogs playing in the yard with other dogs. It was a big relief to know our babies were enjoying their vacation too. They took the time to slowly socialize our babies and they enjoyed their time there as we were able to enjoy our vacation. We will utilize them for all our kennel needs. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a positive experience. They are the best! Ravyn and Auzzy had a blast!

My dog wasn't used to being around other dogs, when I first brought her to Colonial Kennels. But till we returned she was integrated in a few different play groups, watching the videos showed me how much she came out of her shell. The staff are so caring and want your pet to have a fun relaxing time. They'll even text pictures while your gone. I know my dog is safe and loved while I'm gone! Would definitely recommend Colonial Kennels!

This place shows their love for dogs every day and in every way. They care for our pups and even our Guinea pig! Our one pup cries the entire way to "school". She runs to the door and barely notices us when we pick her up. She loves the staff. I also think the paintings on the walls and the 'stadium' adds such a personal touch. The pups are at home here:) thanks Deb,Donna,Kevin,Mike, and all the caregivers ♡♡♡

"You just said he didn't like bigger dogs. You didn't say NOT to put him with them." This is what I was told by the owner after she returned my 12 year old dog with a bite on his ear sustained during rough play with a dog larger than him. I specifically told the intake person on the phone not to put my dog with larger dogs. I stated that he didn't like bigger dogs under the section on the paperwork entitled "Fears". It was not entitled "Fears that should be challenged so he can grow." We were not notified that he was injured, and we were only told after we paid. The owner argued and defended her behavior by saying she didn't know I did not want him with larger dogs because I only wrote that he didn't like other dogs. I didn't explicitly specify, she said. Here's the thing - there is no circumstance where it is okay if someone does something to you that they know you don't like and then defends it by saying "Well, you didn't say not to do it". For example, "You didn't say NOT to let my dog poop on your lawn, you just said you didn't like it." Or "You didn't say NOT to eat your cat, you just said you wouldn't like it if I did." This is stupid. We are not living in a Monty Python sketch. This is from her email to me: “I need the freedom to observe his behavior and put him with the dog or dogs he is most comfortable with.” The kennel owner believes she knows better than the dog owner of 12 years who had known him since he was a puppy, and because of her arrogance, my dog got bit. Now off to the vet we go, and we all know vet bills are such fun.

I highly recommend Colonial to anyone. It was evident when I picked my little ones up that they loved being there. Staff was very friendly and patient with my dogs. I like the fact that you get to see video too of their time there. Exceptional place!

Colonial Kennels has been perfect for our yorkie mix, Caspian! All staff are extremely friendly, and thorough. They show videos of him each time I pick him up from vacation and he is returned to me, happy, healthy, and well cared for! They always make a list of everything Caspian came to the kennel with, and they check it when he is picked up. They allow you to drop off and pick up by appointment only, ensuring ample time is devoted to each client. This allows for a no rush, no chaos drop off & pick up, a relaxed, well run, well organized atmosphere. No feeling frazzled or frustrated. It is not a human centered facility, fancy & with a huge price tag to board your pet. It is made to meet the needs of the dogs. It is affordable & we couldn't be happier! Thanks Colonial Kennels!????

This is an excellent kennel. I have been dealing with Deborah & her staff since 1996 when I moved back to the area. They have a very personable approach to dealing with the care of the dogs at their facility. They take the time to see how each pet interacts with others staying at the kennel & allow them to frolic in play groups during the visits. These play groups are often captured on video for clients to view upon pickup time. I recommend highly for pet stays!!! :)
