I recently had an elderly sick kitty, not responding well to medication, I decided to do the right thing for her and have her euthanized. I took her to Dr. Todd because I've had such good experiences with Dr. Spancake. Well, it was a very bad experience! My cat was overweight , so Dr. Todd told me that it's hard to find a vein in an overweight cat, so he would inject barbiturate into her stomach, and that would take a little bit longer for my cat to pass, he said maybe ten to fifteen minutes. He gave her the shot, then left the room for about twenty minutes , while my cat is making noises, I have no idea whether she is in pain. We can hear him laughing and joking with the nurses outside the room. The next time he comes in he says that it's not working as fast as he thought and he would try to find a vein, well he was poking the needle in and out, my cat was still awake and aware, and obviously in distress, couldn't find the vein, so said he would do another stomach injection , she passed shortly after that. My son and I had to stand there and watch for a traumatizing forty five minutes.I think that he should have been able to find a vein , he is a doctor , or had given her a larger amount of barbiturate to begin with. It was very heart breaking and I hope that nobody else has to go through this which is why I'm writing this review. One more thing, I had another cat euthanized years ago, at another vet office and it was a much more peaceful experience, first they gave my kitty a sedative, then euthanized her the right way, she went peacefully in seconds.

This very REALLY cares.... Not to say others don't but he makes it so u can afford EXCELLENT care, he could charge so much more but he's there for the animals

I have gone to this vet for many years, and have been really pleased with their service, transparency, and thoughtful treatment of my pets. Dr. Spancake is retiring soon, and will be missed! The "new" doctor is very good and I'm sure we'll continue to go here. There was some lack of communication about timing, charges and medications which I'm guessing is due to their transitioning. We were happy with their care of "Bah-boo"for his surgery.

Lenape veterinary clinic has been our vet for approximately 10 years and highly recommend them. Reasonably priced, outstanding personalized service and just nice people.

Dr Todd is amazing! So caring and knowledgable. Made my dog feel at ease and I did not feel rushed during the appointment. So happy I found Lenape Vet!

My family has been going to Dr Spancake for 30 years. He's incredible. He'll never try to perform a procedure your pet doesn't need and always tells you like it is. They don't even markup their medicine. I now live 45-60 mins away and still travel to him because every other vet I've tried is 3x more money and never as friendly and personal. Thanks Dr for your years of excellent service!
