HORRIBLE, had to constantly call for updates. Only received 1 call from them and that was from the vet after the procedure. Didn't even get a call from gat we could come and pick our pet up, we called. HORRIBLE no compassion about keeping you updated by phone or text. Only gave 1 star because 0 isn't an option.

We used the emergency and non-emergency sections. They saved my little dog's life. They did a great job. They were very professional and kind. Just fantastic!! Make sure though, that you have money, a credit card or at least a good credit score. They may not treat your pet if you don't have money....hospital policy.

They saved my cat from certain death. My pet was suffering from internal injuries and and collapsed lung and they were able to have staff available late in the evening to into the next day to perform surgery and save him. The staff was kind and courteous at all levels. It was expensive but it was worth it as the cat is doing very well now, running about almost as if nothing happened.

Fantastic vets and service. Sometimes a little slow and sometimes the reception is obviously tired from how busy they get, but they still treat you well and have never manhandled my pets.

I went in on the 17th of November for my dog who was breathing weird, nasal discharge, loss of appetite and possible UTI. They did a regular exam and did not do a urine sample nor did they check him outside of the initial exam. They tried to get me to purchase unnecessary medication. Doctor wanted to give me nausea meds and diarrhea medication but that’s not why we were there and he said because he felt his stomach that he was going to have diarrhea. NONE of my concerns were addressed no tests and a lot of money out of pocket to now have my dog at my normal vet with the same symptoms. Coming out of pocket over 300$ Again when the issue that I went in for should’ve been addressed never again will I take my dog to this hospital I would much rather travel a distance to get someone who would actually make sure I’m getting charged for what they provided. Very annoyed because now I have to come out additional for someone to properly diagnose my puppers.

Doctor was kind and great, but the nurses seem to take their job as a joke. During a sensitive time in our life, they just made it seem like their day by day job. While on the phone, heard laughing in the background once I said my pets name.

Initial impression is very good, our poor kitty is extremely sick and they got us a same day appointment without delay. Wait time wasn't too bad and they were good about presenting an up front estimate for costs..

Friendly staff, caring Vets, and always able to fit us in. This was the 2nd time we visited this location during to an expected illness of our dog and we are so happy to have a place as good as Barton Heights up in the Poconos.

The Vet recommended Denamarin for my German Shepherd. I was shocked at the price - $150.00! I found it online for 1/2 the price. I will reconsider taking my dog there. It's heartbreaking, since I have been taking all my pets there for the last 15 years!

I want to thank your staff for the compassion and great care they showed my family.I called Barton Heights on Sunday @4pm in tears because my dear buddy Bodie needed to be put to sleep. We got there by 4:30 and we're met by the most caring and amazing staff I have ever met. They took such amazing care talking to my baby and giving us time with him in his final moments.Thank you so much

Great service particularly in the overnight hours as we were assisted with the cremation process of our dog that had passed away. The only veterinary clinic open 24 hours in the Stroudsburg area.

So after my recent review they said I should call so we could discuss the situation. I called, spoke to the person I was told to call. Had a long conversation with her and was told I'd be called back with some sort of resolution....crickets after 2 weeks!! NO response since. They try to appear as if they care but you WILL NOT get any sort of response! What a joke. Our new emergency vet said they are getting a lot of complaints about Barton Heights. Our new regular vet said they wont refer anyont there anymore becaue of all the complaints they've heard. What follows here is my review from a few weeks ago....Three years ago I gave them a 5 star rating. I'm sad to say that I've just had to edit my rating to a 1 star. Their service has greatly declined as their prices have risen. I took my dog there as an emergency because she had a very large and deep cut between her nose and mouth. It was a very bad! I took her in as an emergency and 9...yes 9 hours later they still hadn't taken care of her. No phone calls, no updates, except for the 2-3 times I called for updates with several hours in between. When they finally did put her under to stitch her up, her "blood pressure dropped to almost zero" and they had to "bring her back". So, they almost killed my dog!! Then they just glued the gash shut, charged me over a thousand dollars and told me to return to see a different doctor 3 days later. The following morning the gash opened up again (the glue didn't hold...duh) and when I called they said they had no doctors working at all! I ended up taking her to an emergency hospital almost an hour away where they took great care of her. The gash took 14 staples to close (just so you know how bad it was). And it only cost $400! So now I've paid Barton Heights $1000.00 to almost kill my dog and not provide her with the service that I took her there for. I will be reversing the charge with my credit card company.

This vet's office is not at all concerned with the well being of animals. Seem to be only concerned with making as much money from each pet as they possibly can. In my experience I feel that this vet's office is nothing but a money making machine..

We were recent clients of this hospital after my dog Zoe was hit by a car. We were over an hour away and our local Vet hospital said they weren’t equipped to handle Zoe’s injuries. I was, obviously, beside myself. We were referred to this hospital who were amazing from initial contact. The staff were incredible as they handled our state as “parents” while treating our fur baby who was in shock. They kept us aware of Zoe’s status and explained everything as well as our options. I read all the reviews and was compelled to submit my experience. The cost was equivalent to the service. People have to expect to pay fees appropriate for the event. The staff present at 10 pm were there the next morning at 11 am and were as alert, friendly and client focused as they were late in their shift the night before. I cannot thank this team of medical professionals enough for what the did for us. I cannot imagine what could have happened with the sweetest member of our family if EVERYONE involved in her care were not at work, open or equipped to handle her injuries. Thank you and Bless you for all you do!!

Barton Heights is good for 24 hr availability for certain less technical emergencies such as rashes, fevers and some wounds, although the previous reviewer doesn't seem to agree with that assessment. My cat came home with a large gaping wound on his side and after being operated on at barton heights it kept reopening. That was a couple of years ago, and I had thought they used stitches. Along with what the previous reviewer stated about gluing the wound shut, maybe they need to reasses their methods? I was very concerned when told the wound kept reopening. I had thought they were superior to your average local veterinarian, what with the word "hospital" being in their name and 24 hr emergency availability. But it's actually not the case. In my situation, the opposite is true. They are lacking in more advanced technical procedures such as using ultrasound and soft tissue surgery (removing cancerous growths etc. I was told they usually don't do it). Which makes me wonder what else they don't do. My cat had tumors in each kidney and they were unable to diagnose the problem as they don’t have an ultrasound capability. They took x-rays, but that is not sufficient to accurately pin down the problem for issues which require ultrasound, such as cancer. They did charge an exorbitant price of $800 for the non-diagnosis however. I ended up taking the cat to my local vet who I discovered is certified in ultrasound and did diagnose the problem correctly. Unfortunately, the cat had to be put to sleep and the vet charged $200 for the accurate diagnosis with no charge for euthanasia. This is written in the hopes Barton Heights will increase and improve their capabilities and processes. Being available 24/7 is great, but if you want top dollar for your work you should be competent in all procedures and willing and able to do them. Thanks

I will never go to another vet as long as I live in this area! The doctors and staff are responsible for saving two of my dog's lives. After coming for an emergency visit, we loved it so much we made it our primary veterinarian for our animals. Everyone is so kind and treat our animals so well. Our family loves Barton Heights! Highly recommend.

My girlfriend found a stray kitten, maybe a couple weeks old, that looked seriously ill and malnourished. The little kitten had crust in one eye, which caused the eye to be completely closed shut, and the other eye hours later was closing up as well. She also kept sneezing which we thought was odd. We decided to take her to the emergency room just to see if she needed to be treated immediately in case the kitten might not make it through the night before we drop her off at a shelter. When we arrived and pressed the intercom, the employee that answered asked what we needed and we told her our situation. She responded with “We do not take in strays, you can pay the bill to take care of her or euthanize her.” She then tells us to wait a little and someone will come out to check the kitten’s condition and help us. It was cold and we waited a little, so we clicked it again because we did not want the kitten to suffer longer especially in the cold, just to find the same lady or maybe someone else to question with what we needed again, we reexplained what we were here for again to her. The lady had an attitude and said that they’re busy so we decided to just leave. How can someone working at a veterinary clinic lack empathy for a sick animal in need? Regardless of stray or not, all we needed to know was whether or not the kitten needed to be treated right away, or if there was anything we could do to help her or any other place we could drop the kitten off for service.

First of other than one of the Recepcionist/ left one( blonde lady/ positive one) everything that we experienced was bad. Waiting time was super long, price was super high, service was bad. Even we paid for the check up and fee was like $300, they did not tell us that the kitten had fleas. I really did not understand why we paid that amount of money even though we were not told that. In sum I wanted to share what I experienced in that place.

These people took great care of my pup right away this morning after he had gotten into a bottle of aspirin. I wish I lived closer so that I could take him for his regular checkups. The vet and her assistant were so great through our little emergency and you could tell they really cared and were passionate about what they do.

I will never take my cat Midnight or any other animal I have there again....so unprofessional, mean, don't care about you or your animal... when I took my cat Midnight there on 09/19/2021 as an emergency bc they are suppose to be a 24/7 animal emergency clinic but when I got there I was told no Veterinary doctor was there (say what), no vet doctor at the 24/7 emergency clinic!! They have been bought over by a corporation & do not care about you or your animal or how much they charge you....never never go there....

Excellent service. Met with a very professional, highly competent doctor, technician and staff. Perfectly scheduled, no long wait to see the doctor. Handled our pup calmly and gently. Reasonably priced for the services we needed. Worked very well.

If you don't mind waiting for an extended period of time, even if you are the only client in the facility, while two "candy stripers" are chit-chatting, and the two receptionists fail to acknowledge your presence, then you should find it acceptable. If on the other hand, you value your time, and expect that there is a reciprocal respect for your time and that of your pet then you won't be happy; find another more reliable and responsive provider.
