Doctor Nikki and staff are wonderful. I had a hard decision to make with my 16 year old blind cat and they were helpful and sympathetic. I would recommend them to take care of you and your pet.

I have a bulldog which can be very challenging medically. The vet knows Yoda well and helps me every way possible. I feel like a friend is taking care of my bulldog not just any vet that works in a big practice. Allegheny vet assn is Down to earth and very knowledgeable. So glad I switched

Dr. Nicki has a calming effect on my anxious pups...and they love her, allow her to examine them completely. She's a great veterinarian and absolutely devoted to her patients and their parents. Recommend her without any reservations.

Both of my dogs are cared for by AVA. I have always been very happy with the level of care, compassion, and expertise that Dr. Nicole Crowson provides. I wouldn’t take them anywhere else and highly recommend.

So far, I have been able to make three appointments at Allegheny Veterinary Associates without having to wait long. The veterinarian here has taken time to talk with my husband and me to learn about our dog's physical and mental health, and she has taken time to thoroughly explain diagnostic tests and medications and to recommend over-the-counter products. The other employees, including the receptionists and the vet tech, are also very pleasant to interact with. This vet has helped my dog to overcome anxiety and intestinal parasites and to receive necessary vaccinations. I feel very happy with the timing, quality, and cost of care here, so I am considering taking my three cats here also.

Went here because I couldn't get an appointment with my regular vet. Got an appointment the same morning I called. Set up is great walk in one door, get seen, exit and pay bill at another door! No noise or confusion. Staff was wonderful and compassionate. Will continue here with this vet, I'm so grateful for the care my cat received.

This place is amazing, the care and personal experience is exceptional. My dog just had luxating patella surgery and everything that was done was accomplished with the upmost care. I appreciate everyone involved in our experience and I will be comming back in the future for my pet needs. I would also recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent care and quality. Also the prices are very affordable and fair.

The Drs and staff are the best!!

DR.Nicole was wonderful with our dog Bailey. She examined him and diagnosed his skin disorder. He is doing quite well now. This was his first visit and they took very good care of him. Her husband Dr.Chris did a fantastic job on our other dog Bo with an ACL surgery in April. Thank you all for your care and kindness to ward our animal family members.

Great staff, very caring and efficient. My dog had an eye problem. Another hospital couldn’t see him for 5 days. We called Allegheny and they made room for us within an hour. Our cat had a mast cell cancer which was operated on and had a complete and problem free recovery. Dr. Nikki is terrific and obviously concerned about you and your pets. I cannot recommend the place more highly.

We normally take our dogs to a different vet, but my parents had a great experience with Allegheny Veterinary Associates several years ago and when our golden needed a couple of cysts removed, we decided to take him to Dr. Nikki and team. Had a great first visit- prompt, thorough and to the point. We scheduled the surgery and at time of drop off, confirmed the locations of the cysts to be removed (right side of his back, and at the base of his skull). (He had a couple of smaller ones we hadn’t discussed or worried about). Got the call around 2pm that surgery went well and he could be picked up later that afternoon. To my surprise, when we picked him up, he had two incisions: on the right side of his back and across his shoulder blades (more than 6 inches below where the cyst on the back of his skull is located). The explanations from the vet and vet tech (when we called to ask what happened) were that they “couldn’t find the one on his head but they removed the one between his shoulder blades instead”….. no call to verify the location before surgery when they couldn’t find it. No mention of it in the post-op check in call with us. Not a word about it during pickup. When I called the vet once we got home, Dr. Nikki suggested bringing him back the following Monday and she “wouldn’t charge me” to remove the one on his head, “just for the local anesthetic”….. after we just spent nearly $1000 on having one of the wrong cysts removed. Not only will we not give this practice another dime, but my dog will never be under her poor care again. The complete lack of communication, and refusal to take accountability for this is infuriating. It is irresponsible veterinary practice and I would expect this highly rated vet to hold themselves to a higher standard of care, or demonstrate an ounce of compassion or professionalism. For a human, this would be malpractice. A mechanic doesn’t even change the oil in my car without calling me first. This was a disappointing experience to say the least, and we won’t be back or recommend others to this location. Thankfully the cyst removal is a minor surgery, but I wanted to share our story with others who are considering placing their pets under the care of Allegheny Veterinary Associates.

The staff are friendly. The vet was knowledgeable, kind, understanding and you could tell she truly loves animals and what she does.

Drs Nikki and Chris are great! They took good care of my puppy who had a broken leg. They spoke WITH me, not AT me, answered all of my questions and it seemed that Pixie genuinely liked going there. The front staff and techs that I interacted with were wonderful as well, they cared about me and my little girl and were quick and efficient with check-in and check-out. A big THANK YOU to the AVA team for a calm and comfortable experience during this stressful event with my dog. You guys are awesome!!!

Always the best experience here. Caring doctors and staff. Clean offices. Rarely have to wait when I get there. All good. I wouldn't take my sweet canine baby anywhere else. Oh, and their staff know exactly how to deal with an overwrought dog mom freaking out about her baby. With kindness and understanding. I love everyone I have met at AVA.
