Friendly, concerning staff, efficient and clean

Wonderful staff. Rescue on a huge plot of land. Animals are well cared for. I'm now a supporter.

My family has been looking to adopt for months and have had no luck. We saw a dog we wanted and reached out to MLAR. John approved our application and called us in to meet with the dog. Unfortunately, that particular animal was not a fit for our family. John took his time, and I'm sure a great deal of patience, to introduce us to a few more dogs. We were lucky to find the perfect fit for our family! Could not say enough great things about this organization!

I have had several interactions with MLAR about adopting pets. All interactions have been positive. They KNOW their adoptable animals. The animals in their care receive excellent medical care.

What an absolute delight! This is my second dog from them and I wouldn't adopt from anywhere else.

Absolutely amazing place. Surrendered our puppy there unfortunately..they have been very up front, answered all my questions. And keeping me up to date with my pups adoption process.

Great place to adopt new family members

I just read about how MLAR pushed Bill Smith, founder, out of the organization. Bill, in his startup of animal rescue, brought one of his first placements to my 5 year old son with a sister and parents desiring a beloved pet. Bill brought “Buddy” to us with an Eagles leash, knowing my son’s love of the Eagles. Love at first sight. The first Mother’s Day after our adoption, I received a Mother’s Day card from Buddy (via Bill) to his new mommy. Bill had my pet heart forever forward. We added another MLAR dog and two cats over the subsequent years and watched the fruits of Bill’s labor and love as MLAR grew. I credit Bill’s love and animal compassion for my children’s love of animals, all animals. I’m so heartbroken over the treatment received from “new and perhaps more business like” management. MLAR was Bill Smith and can never live up to his passion for his work.

Staff was extremely helpful, patient and kind as I searched for a second cat. Animals were healthy and well cared for. I am still looking for the right fit, but it was a good experience.

The staff is absolutely professional, caring, and invested in the animals. It was a significantly better experience than another shelter that I visited. They love AJ (my foster to adopt doggo) and it's genuine. I can't speak for other shelters, but it's a beautiful facility with and excellent team.

Super nice people. Clean facility. Great area. They accept donations here for the animals.

AMAZING park for kids. Best I've seen yet. At least 6 seperate sections, various types of play setups including even A MUSICAL SECTION With percussion instruments you can play! Clean and very well maintained. A must see!

Everyone is very nice. The dogs all seem happy. Good experience.

At the moment, I have not been able to speak with anyone to be able to find my little pomeranian that I wish to adopt and care for, no one seem to respond

They are great! Friendly folks and it looks like the animals are well cared for! Laura was very kind, responsive and allowed me to donate my cat's items to help him better transition to his new home once adopted. I've now added MLAR as my AmazonSmile charity partner and will also make a separate donation. We need more caring Rescues. Thank you, MLAR Team!

Completed an application online on 3/3 expressing our interest in 2 dogs. Received a call from Jodi on 3/4 and she said she will look for more information regarding one of the dogs and will get back to us (the other one was too big). Received an email 3/9 saying that the dog was very strong and needed to be with another dog, also an experienced family. Since then, I called twice to talk to the manager to see if there were any other matches, or if we could at least visit, or just to give more background regarding our application (manager never called back). Overall, terrible experience, Jodi is very unpleasant, and the organization has lost its focus. I would not recommend it, make sure that you try the SPCA first. Update to Response from Owner: So, not only you have poor customer service, but you bluntly lie. I never gave any dog to a family member. If you are talking about the dog my husband had, it was the family’s pet, your thought is to get a dog that was never mine to meet your requirements? This response does not make any sense. Your inaccurate statement only shows the poor application/screening process that you have or had in place.

We adopted our third dog from them. Such a great rescue!

Inquired about adopting a dog, no one ever called me back or emailed. I even went in person to Donate about 50 toys and about 100 pounds of food and I’ve never even gotten a Thank you email. Whatever
