Dr. C and her team are fantastic. They accommodated us on a tight timeline to prepare our dog for an International Health Certificate. The entire team we worked with - Dr. C., Nicole, Diana, Amy - were top notch and helped us navigate the complex world of pet vaccines, tick panels, and immigration requirements. They also gave us some good tips on how to help improve our dog’s oral hygiene which we really appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. C. And her team. Thank you for taking care of our pup, Bondi!

Our past two visits we have had to wait over an hour after our scheduled appointment time for them to bring our dog back. We will not be going back.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Society Hill Vet and I've given more than one chance. I received passive aggressive responses when inquiring about my dog's test results - where I expected compassion & patience. During the winter, I called to see if the vet was running on time so I didnt have to stand outside in the freezing cold with my dog - I was given another passive aggressive response, stating the vet was on time. The vet was not on time - I stood outside for 35 minutes before my dog was seen. I asked for a hand-written script so I could buy medication elsewhere and I had to jump through hoops to get it because Society Hill Vet prefers I buy with them. All that showed me is SHV values their own interests above the animal welfare and they should be ashamed. They also missed my dog's heart murmur. Now I want to switch vets and they ask me to sign a release form - which is absurd, no other vet or clinic has ever asked for this. Just another hoop. Just another reason to leave. If you want to know your pet is the #1 thing a practice has in mind, you can find a different one, this is not the place.

I left a previous review saying how they charged me for an unnecessary nutrition test without telling me. My bill for a checkup for my healthy cat that day was almost $300 and I left in tears. I got a sarcastic text just now from their receptionist saying "Thanks for the review, if you didn't want the test you could have just said no." Totally unprofessional, do not go to these people.

There is no other place that I would take my pets

We have been clients for 10 years. At my dog's last visit, a heart murmur was detected. Dr. C. recommended an app that has been helpful to track my dog's heart rate. Dr. C also suggested I call around to cardiologists for my dog to get more tests. The cardiologists offices all said my dog would have to be put under anesthesia. After much consideration, my husband and I just want our 10 year old to live her best life. I emailed Dr. C's office. Nicole wrote me back with the most kind response. I was so distraught with my decision. Nicole made me feel so much better.

Thank you to the amazing team at Society Hill. I rescued my dog Jojo over the weekend and wanted to get an appointment as soon as possible. Given the times, most places have wait times from days to weeks. I was able to book an appointment within 24 hours of discovering Society Hill! Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and made sure my pet was taken care of. Parking was easy and the whole process was just a huge relief. I wanted to make sure my new pet was taken care of and they went above and beyond. Looking forward to my visits for years to come! Thank you to everyone at Society Hill.

To much money not enough answers seems like they guess

I would like to thank Dr Casavecchia and Laura and Diana for making this experience so easy to get through I was a nervous wreck when I was told my new puppy needed two procedures to make her better but with their help they got me through it today which is second day from her operation she is almost back to normal I took her for a walk this morning and she was greeting people on our walk but standing up on her hind legs and crying for them to pet her plus she came home and went to sleep in her own bed she took her medicine with no problem Laura told me yesterday she would be back to normal in about a day and Dr C she was pulling me done the walk this morning I can’t thank you guy enough for taking the fear out of the operation again thank you so much my little polar bear is coming back to normal so far she’s adjusting to that collar she has to wear for two weeks too!!!

Literally the best Vet I've ever been to.

I’ve been taking my best friend Panther to SHV since he was a kitten and I’ve always been impressed with their service and genuine loving attitudes. Bringing a pet to the vet is very stressful but I’m always comforted knowing he’s in great hands. They are also being very cautious during Covid. I love this vet and thank them for ensuring a long, healthy life for my best friend. Con: they’re incredibly expensive but I can’t put a price on my love for my buddy.

They are simply the best! So kind, caring and empathetic towards this new dog mom. They love on our boy as if he is their own and he is always so excited (and never scared!) to go see his friends at SHVH. I would highly recommend this team to anyone in need of veterinary services.

I personally love the care they have for my girl Rosey. I love that Doc C. came out to explain in detail what exactly was wrong with Rosey and how they were going to proceed in caring for her. During the covid the staff have taken all the precautions to make sure that our pets health care is top priority.

We recently took our GSP Rosey in for blood work prior to upcoming surgery. We were taken care of in a timely manner, and Rosey was very well treated (she loves everyone at SHVet). We've been clients for many many years (through 4 dogs), and have always received excellent care and service. We recommend Dr. C and her entire team highly. PSB Phila.

SHVH has an AMAZING staff. Dr. Casavecchia has surrounded herself with an incredible group of professionals. Tom, Nicole, Leeanne and Diana are responsive, compassionate and downright generous. I recently moved out of the area and contemplated using a closer vet. That contemplation went right out the window. Thank you SHVH for taking such good care of Yoshi. MTH

Pandemic-appropriate and efficient service; patience and responsiveness to questions; in-house procedure that seems to have made my cat feel a great deal better and more comfortable.

So friendly and very good service. Our cat has been taken care of with so much TLC I’m also confident if any issue, or when he needs routine check ups, he will be taken care of superbly.

If I could give them minus zero rating I would. What a nightmare experience! If you truly love your pet please stay away from this place. This office is not reliable, not professional and not responsive. The office over charge for services that are not rendered. The Veterinarian Claudia Casavecchia not compassionate, is rude and condescending. Don’t trust this office!!

We took our pet to this place when it was first adopted. Due to life sometimes getting super busy, our wellness visits were not up to date. I was very happy to know, our pets records were kept and we were able to schedule a well visit. I like the fact that they give you a "Preventive Report" which gives you services rendered, exam findings and recommendations. Due to COVID, you can't go into the office; but, they do come out to your car and pick up your pet. Our pet was seen by Dr. Wallis and he phones you while you are there with any concerns. Very happy with their service. Thank you!

I booked an appointment for rabies vaccine a week ago. After I provide details, I am told that my appointment will be rescheduled in 48 hours due to international travel procedures. Ok, I can wait. No response. After I contact them again, their response is: “ This is ultimately up to my manager. We cannot proceed without my manager's approval. I believe you requested an appointment for a titer. You bypassed the system by asking for a Rabies vaccine.” I am sure that I request a rabies vaccine rather than a titer, and I don’t understand why they are saying this. In addition, I understand that you need manager’s approval. However, at least you need to let me know what the result is. Is that too much for you? After waiting for another business day, I am still polite and write a long email to them. “ I am so disappointed. It is almost a week since I start communicating with you, but I haven’t received any confirmation or even notice of my appointment. I will choose another vet. Although I understand it’s a busy and hard time for everyone, I don’t think it is appropriate to treat a client like this. I am patient and polite enough in consideration of your rude and careless response, not to mention the waste of my time. Be aware of your service. Hope you can improve your service and be more compassionate to our pets. “ Guess what? Still no response. No apology, no explanation. Society hill may provide nice service before, but their service is awful now, at least in my case. As I said, I tell my story in a rational and reasonable manner. I don’t consider my request as unreasonable.

The best! Staff is attentive and friendly. Dr’s are competent and caring. I’ll be bringing my wiener (dog) here as long as my wife and I live in old city.

We have been going to society hill vets for almost 3 years and we could not be happier with the care they provide for our little rescue dog. Dr. C has helped our little guy Barry with an operation and a year later there is not even a little scar! Everyone at the front desk is so kind too, Plus I appreciate the steps they take to stay safe during the pandemic. Overall this place feels like home I would definitely recommend this vet clinic!

Wonderful place. Friendly caring people who went out of their way for our panicky cat. They accommodated our emergency situation with a prompt appointment, lab results came quickly and were thoroughly explained, as was the plan for her future care. I highly recommend them!
