The staff made the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly and the cats look well taken care of at the center! The adoption process was also very easy once we decided on a cat to take home.

Absolutely the most lovely adoption center for kittens and cats???? They know all of the cats like the palm of their hands. The cats are so peaceful and comfortable at their places. I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends. (Thanks for all the work you do.)

My husband and I adopted Stan in August from The Kitty Adoption Cottage, and it was a great experience. Our adoption went smoothly, we had all the needed paperwork for Stan’s first vet visit and everyone was super nice and helpful. And it’s a house of cats, awesome. Anyone looking for a new kitty addition to their family, I highly recommend coming to the Cottage. We couldn’t be happier.

Did the online application only for them to call me bk & decline me. No inperson interview or anything. I was so upset. I do NOT reccommend this piece o ???? place.I think they want donations over adoption but whatevr. I will get my young cat frm an agency that is genuinely interested in the well being of the cat over their quotas.

Update: Thanks for following up and providing your response. In hindsight, perhaps I was a bit too harsh and critical so I am modifying my review based on this new information. I care deeply about animals, especially felines of all types and ages. Having owned a beautiful orange tabby, William, that I adopted as a 2 month kitten, and then unfortunately losing him to an unknown illness at the vets at 2.5 years old made me even more aware about how important it is to have adoption centers for all the stray and abandoned cats. So I commend Kitty Cottage for everything they are doing to support these wonderful felines and being there for the community through these difficult times. I retract the following earlier review --- It is so selfish to be closed when grocery stores, malls and now even restaurants are open. These animals don't know or care about anything other than finding a good home with a caring owner yet you deprive them of that opportunity because you can't take any precautions or assume a little more risk. You need to do what Is right for these cats and not live in fear. This virus like many others will not disappear and you may as well just shut down for good if you can't open after almost one year of dealing with this virus.

I applied to them in the hope of seeing any of their cats, but their response to their PAID adoption application was less than ideal. I'd be much less annoyed if they had simply said no I wouldn't have minded or if they had contacted me AT ALL really. They contacted me asking for emails a few days after I applied, took another 5 days to tell me one of them was not working and then no more communication to me after that. My BF did receive a call asking if he was aware of me applying for a pet, which he was and gave them information they asked for. (Which was the same as what was sent to other people in emails like declawing questions and the like) They told him that they would be asking their 'board of directors' and we would hear back within a few days. It's been almost a week and no communication whatsoever. I looked at their FB page as well an noticed that one of the cats that was advertised on their website was already adopted as well. I'm just hoping at this point that my adoption fee went to the cats, not the snobby board that takes care of them. :/

I had a great experience. I didn't mind the fact that it took two weeks to do my background check and ask the necessary questions to make sure my new cats were coming to a good home. You can't place animals with just ANY OLD BODY. Just like child adoption, they take the necessary precautions. I am ecstatic at the lengths they take to provide me with all of the necessary information and guidance I needed with my adoption -- including their shots. My family is very happy with the new additions. My son is autistic and he has completely adjusted his attitude since their arrival. He is always looking for them now and that makes me very happy. My daughter is over the moon with excitement and even my honey has gotten super cozy with our new additions. Keep up the great work Kitty Cottage and do not be dissuaded by the negativity. You are doing the right thing by making sure you find the best home(s). Kudos to you all!!

Hamilton staff was very kind and considerate with the recent departure of our feline "Katie." We miss her but the bedside manner of the Hamilton team was phenomenal and took the edge off our broken hearts.

I am only giving 2 stars for the cleansienss of the lobby area, but to a fault. When I entered the lobby .the staff(2 older women) were very slow to assist me therefore, my 4 yr old grew impatient. When my son saw a cat sunbathing in the window, he wanted to pet it (it looked like a stuffed animal). A women, asked what I was interested in, I said I want to see the cats. She got interrupted and we waited longer. When she came back she asked us to step in a large basin which contained a soapy towel. She then explained that she is concerned for the cats safety and that my son may scare them. I explained that I would not allow my son to hurt the cats or even touch them without their permission. She insisted that she is still concerned and asked if he is autistic. I did not respond, so she asked if he has ADHD. Of course I told her Goodbye. If this place has outside sponsers please beware! These people are unrealistic with what seems the search of a perfect adoptor; one who lives alone; in a quiet dwelling. This condems the lives of other cats. Cats are more solitary, sure, but what happend to finding a loving home with a private zen area for the cat. Does this place really want to adopt out or keep as pets and collect donor dollars? Some of these cat people are odd. It should have been a red flag when I pulled into the parking lot and was overwhelmed by the scent of laundry detergent.

Since I am only 19 I have to have my mom as a co-signer which is fine, but because SHE was the owner of a cat and can not provide medical records of said cat which died 3 years ago, they are not approving my application (the vet center where the cat was put down could not even find record of that even though they said they hold records for 7 years). I paid the $20 application fee which is to prove I was serious about adopting, and it was my initiative to adopt a cat. I really do not appreciate that the only information they are holding against me is past information that was not even relevant to MY OWN personal experience with owning a cat, therefore I’d be happy to find another shelter that will allow me to care for a kitty. Also not to mention the staff was very condescending and rude on the phone so don’t even bother.

Pros: - Great staff who care about the kitties in their care - Cats are in good health and well socialized - Pain-free application process that still ensures cats are placed with owners who will treat them well Cons: None I couldn't be happier with my new friend. Thank you Kitty Cottage!
