This past weekend, my husband and I had to endure the heartbreak of putting our 15 year old Corgi/Malamute down. He originally belonged to my in-laws, but lived with us for the past 18 months. …

We had such a good experience at Newton Veterinary Hospital. Everyone from the people answering the phone, to check in, to the vet tech and the doctors were kind, calm, compassionate and knowledgeable. Very happy with them.

Pleasant visit for my dog. Went as an emergency that wasn’t an extreme emergency. Everyone was pleasant and treated my dog well. I would recommend

Because BLAH “only does procedures” on Thursdays I had to pay a $60 emergency fee to Newton. They are always more expensive than most vet clinics and I found it hard to believe there wasn’t a regular appt opening. I am getting tired of this routine when a vet visit is needed. One of the first things asked of me was I willing to pay for X-rays and I replied no, not until my cat is examined. I do appreciate that the Dr was very thorough and I am hoping the treatment will be helpful. The cat seems a bit better today but is taking her time and moving gingerly. She is also good about taking her Pill Pocket. Hopefully she will overcome this episode. (Perhaps I am unaware of BLAH charging extra for a visit of last minute notice, as both are run by the same group) Thanks for your assistance

I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am to have brought my dog here! Not only were they attentive on the phone, answering all the questions I had about my emergency situation, but they worked to get me on their schedule as soon as possible. Dr. Kim gave extra special care to my sweet boy and the staff made him feel comfortable and relaxed during a stressful time. I’m beyond grateful for their honest recommendations instead of trying to take every last cent I own like my past vet. My boy is now resting comfortably at home enjoying all the cuddles and treats he can get. 20/10 recommend this hospital no matter how far the drive is - their care is exceptional!

Brought my dog in on New Year’s day because she was coughing and choking. We were put in a room to wait. We waited for 4 hours and no one came to check on the dog or even tell us how long we would have to wait. Terrible and frankly unethical for an emergency vet to leave someone sitting with their pet who is in distress for 4 hours. If I could give it zero stars I would

Our male cat "Marty" gave us an unexpected Christmas present and we had to bring him to Newton Animal Hospital on Christmas day due to a urinary track infection with crystal blockage. We called ahead and when we arrived they immediately took him in. Unfortunately, they had to admit him to the hospital and he had to stay for 3 days but the staff and doctor called us every morning and night to give us a status update on how he was doing. There was a high volume of emergencies coming into the facility the 2nd day and when I spoke to a staff member she said she scratched his little head and said what a sweet cat he was which reassured us that we took him to a caring, compassionate, professional place. We brought him home with medication and he is doing fantastic. I truly believe that if we did not bring him to Newton Animal hospital that he would have died. We are going away at the end of January and have decided to board him there in a cat condo with a window which will make our vacation even better knowing he is in good hands. Thank you again for taking such great care of our beloved little boy.

I brought my two dogs in because they had been coughing and throwing up. I called ahead of time and told them what was going on. They said to come but to wait in the car because they could have kennel cough. Waited for 6 hours in the heat with my dogs outside throwing up for them to barely look at the dogs and say it’s kennel cough. Six hours with two dogs sick and throwing up! I do not recommend this vet office to no one!!!! Update: they responded to this however has never reached out.

Had to make an emergency visit for our black lab Leo. Our vet did not have an opening so they recommended Newton animal hospital. Very happy with the service!! A lot of reviews complain about the wait time for emergencies. It was a long wait before we were admitted into a room , but someone came out and evaluated Leo 15 min after check in. In Our case it was just a severe ear infection causing him to be disoriented. But at initial evaluation after checking in they made sure it wasn’t something more serious , like a seizure or stroke. if it was something that serious I’m sure they would have taken him right in. Very happy with the service! Very clean and the vets and assistants are very caring and compassionate! Thank you Newton Animal Hospital!!! Our Boy Leo thanks you as well!!!

I brought my cat here for a checkup last month and explained how she had a weird swallowing thing going on where she would jerk her head forward. The vet did the normal once-over on her and found no issues, so I was under the impression my baby was fine. Today I went to a different vet somewhere else and they opened her mouth for 1 second and found many teeth problems, and an infection and receding gums, and now she needs surgery to get them removed. I just don't understand how Newton vet didn't catch her dental issues when they examined her. If I didn't take her to another vet her infection could have spread and could have killed her! All because a vet simply did not open her mouth to check.

I brought my dog in for an emergency. He was coughing badly. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeting with kindness and compassion. I highly recommend this facility as I will be recommending it to others.

A 5 hour wait because my dog's issue was deemed not an emergency and yet they billed as it was an emergency anyway. I should have known it was a terrible place to bring an animal when they can't even keep the plants they have in the waiting room alive. Update 11/29/21 In response to a staff member being in touch shortly, it never happened. It also took me multiple calls to get results for unnecessary lab work.

I can’t really say much for their Vetrinary care, I guess they are fine. Only really concerned about money and when the bill gets paid. What really gives them this 1 star review is how slow they are. We came in at 11 with an emergency. The doctor finally saw us at 2:30, came up with a diagnosis and said she would be right back so they could sedate my dog. It is now 4:40 and no one has been back, we have been asking but no one knows anything. I feel like I’m being held hostage. There is no reason for this

Recently had to take my 18yo dog to be put down. The people here were wonderful. Compassionate, understanding, and respectful. I was able to have enough time with her before and after. No pressure to leave. The doctor was fabulous! There is a beautiful wall with a tree on it that you can put a remembrance leaf for your pet. The wall was filled with hundreds of pets. There is everything you need from a Vet there. Definitely will use them for my future pets.

Unbelievably long waiting times. For a place of this size and number of employees you’d think they’d have a few vets and techs on hand. Nope they have about half a dozen or more people at the desk along with 1 tech and 1 vet. Sat down with I believe four other people before me. Took 2 and a half hours to see the tech and then a half hour to an hour longer for the vet to come in. Poor staffing, terrible in emergencies. Do not recommend

This was the biggest waste of time and money I’ve ever spent in my life. I came in for a first exam. Advertised as free. Not free if you have multiple pets. Not specified in the advertisement pictured below but ok, fine. Time for the “exam” … what exam. The vet acted as if my dog was the first ever dog she dealt with. She was terrified at my dog who is the most gentle loving dog in the world who gave her ZERO indication that he could be vicious. She only touched their bellies and tried to sell me on the yearly dog package. I just did not feel that this was worthy of a full exam. Unfortunately I won’t be utilizing their yearly package offer based on my first experience here and I’m out $65.

So we have a very recent experience with Newton. We were there this week. They were very compassionate and caring. They were not insensitive and grieved right along with us. This was our first visit to them. We took our maltese there on Tuesday. We took her home with us on Wednesday. Unfortunately she had serious and severe heart disease. We had to take her back yesterday to have her pass peacefully as she was having difficulty breathing. On both visits we didnt wait more than 5 minutes to get triaged. All of the staff was very caring and like I mentioned were grieving with us.. They did not charge us for the euthanasia.

They provided exceptional service. My Presa Canario was treaded here for an eye injury.

I took my cat to this Veterinarian hospital because he was blocked and could not urinate. He was obstructed. They only had one veterinarian surgeon on hand and it took them over 3 hours to get him in to surgery, my cat was in a very dangerous situation. When I went to pick him up his paw was swollen 3 times the size because his bandage was too tight, he stayed 2 days in the hospital, You would think that if he was being monitored they would have noticed and did something about the bandage. The Hospital also charges a lot of money and I was told that Sussex Hospital is less expensive. I wasn't all that satisfied with this Hospital to say the least.

I can’t say enough nice things about Newton Veterinary Hospital. We live an hour away in the Poconos, and have had a few visits to the hospital for various emergencies over the years, most recently for an eye enucleation after our French bulldog had a rupture before her surgery which was scheduled with her regular vet and still two weeks away. She needed the procedure done now, and Newton is the only vet around with 24/7/365 doctors and surgeons available. Pricey, yes…they are expensive. But they have been so very nice, accommodating, understanding, and caring each time we have visited them. Very grateful to have them available to our community!

My husband and I just moved a month ago to this area and unfortunately my eldest cat fell ill and i had to find a pet hospital closed by i was happy to know that Newton Veterinary Hospital is 15min from me and they are open 24/7 My cat is very old and have some healthy issues but they were very nice and prompt, we could not find exactly what was wrong with him but on the 3rd visit i had told them what I thought it could be since i have been watching him closely and they listened and were able to find out what the problem was and treat accordingly. The 3 times i was there this past week they were always on time and very nice. Thank you

This place is terrible. I came in for an emergency visit for suspected lyme disease and in 5 hours all I could get was a vet tech to give my dog a blood test. Even at the 4.5 hour mark they could not give me a time that I could see an actual vet and discuss the blood test results...

I used to speak highly of this veterinary hospital. No complaints about the staff I have spoken to, they are always very polite. My dog had her annual exam three weeks ago. She is on prescription medication for anxiety and she had to be seen to have the script renewed. I requested that the script be filled through chewy and the vet was fine with that and confirmed the medication I showed her was the correct one. For the last three weeks now I have been waiting for the vet to confirm the script. Chewy sends the request and the hospital has not responded. Again, this has been going on for three weeks so my dog has been off of her medicine for that long. I've been trying to call all morning to speak to someone again (this will be the 6th or 7th time) and the phone keeps ringing. I am very angry and frustrated and once I can finally get my dog the medicine she needs, I will be finding another vet

I am so impressed by this animal hospital! My cat was injured during a normal outdoor break and my regular vet couldn't get us in for another 5 days. They recommended to take my cat here and I'm so glad I did! I figured I'd be there all day but it ended up going so fast. For not knowing me or my cat, they treated us with great care and I'm very grateful!!! I thought the cost would be astronomical for being an emergency visit but it was very reasonable and affordable.

$5k+ total for an unsuccessful stomach obstruction surgery. They messed up my puppy's throat while performing the surgery and they won't take responsibility for it. They said there was "a wire" found in his throat, and they said they couldn't upload the xrays after his surgery, which is BS because it just takes a click of a button. They obviously didn't want us to see the Xrays. We did however see the xrays of what was removed from our puppy and there was no wire pictured at all. When we brought him home and had him examined by our regular Vet, the vet said the outside of his throat was so raw and red he couldn't even touch it. Plus our puppy had blood dripping out of his mouth when we brought him home. Our regular Vet did an xray of his throat and pointed out the abnormality in his throat after the surgery. This place is sloppy, dishonest and unprofessional. Take some time to read the employee's reviews on the web, this will explain a lot on how this animal hospital treats their pet patients. It's been over a month and our puppy is still sick and still can't eat solid food. Honestly I don't know how the people at Newton Animal Hospital sleep at night. This place should be shut down.

Horrible receptionist. I was a little late because of a tree down on road so they canceled my appointment. With attitude. If they make you wait they them they missed their appointment and leave.

Canceled my appointment because I showed up 10 min late. I have used this place a couple of times and have waited way more than 10 minutes each time so it is pretty ironic. If you want to be disrespected and waste your time then use this place. But I would definitely try and go somewhere else.
