Went there with my Sheltie. He gave him Lyme's vaccine and didn't schedule the second, which I didn't realize I needed. My dog had a heart murmur discovered by a different vet, why didn't he say anything about that? Lastly, I told him about the skin condition of my dog. All he did was say "Shelties get that". No recommendation for the special shampoo that would have helped it. Plus, during the middle of the pandemic in 2020,though I was grateful he was open, neither he nor any of his employees wore masks. I'm done with this guy.

Slightly taken back by the room being decorated with farm vet medical equipment. But the vet and staff were very nice and explained my cats condition, gave multiple treatment options, and explained what the next steps would be if his condition didn’t improve. They also had appointments available early and on weekend on short notice. Prices were fair and the staff worked to gain the trust of my car (he is shy) instead of just holding him down for examination.

For privacy reasons, my name is under something different so if this place tries to search my name in their system it won’t show up. The staff was amazing, but the attending vet was absolutely horrible. He was rude and didn’t care about my pet at all. He seemed like he was just in it for the money. He treated me like trash and said horribly rude side comments. BEWARE! I will never understand how someone could treat anyone with that type of rude and unprofessional attitude. I would never dream of saying the things this vet said to me when all I was worried about was the well being of my baby. Will never come back to this place and I warn everyone to stay away unless you want to end up crying on the way home from the nasty words this vet says to people.

They took my dog in after a very bad experience!!! Very professional!! ( I don’t know if anyone saw me write a bad review before I edited it but I meant to write the bad review for MONTAGUE vet NOT here. THIS vet is a life savior and actually cared to take my dog in ASAP

If you, like me, are worried about bringing your pet to a new vet: rest assured this is a reliable, compassionate practice staffed by kind, competent people. I recently moved to the area. I woke up one morning to find a huge lump in my dog's neck. The first vet I called was booked for 2 months; MAH gave me an appointment for the following day. Dr G's examination was thorough and gentle. My dog required surgery to remove his lump. I was seriously losing my mind over the status of my dog's health, and extremely worried about choosing a vet off of Google Maps -- especially for a surgery. Dr G, the surgeon, and Charles (the tech) patiently answered my many questions at every step of this process. I could not have asked for a more supportive experience. I'd like to reassure anyone facing a similar situation: you're in good hands with the staff at MAH.

Old ownership - GREAT & timely service; very thorough pet evaluation with all vaccines administered for this annual visit. New ownership - no longer a client; 0 stars

REPLY: ONCE AGAIN, full physical assessment was NOT performed. He NEVER listened to his heart or lungs (and I did see the Littman stethoscope hanging next to his other medical equipment). He never checked his eyes and never mentioned the yellowish discharge from the eyes (and I forgot to mention it). He NEVER mentioned that he would draw almost $300 blood work including chem 18???? The only thing I was asked is if it is okay with me to draw blood to see if there is an infection. I said YES, I would LOVE to check his WBC level (CBC - complete blood count). My FINAL price was supposed to be $85 plus CBC blood work. Max $150. Next time mention to your customers the services you want to provide. Al least that’s how it is done in NY.

They misdiagnosed my dog. Run all unnecessary tests that came back normal. 2 days later we ended up in the hospital and my dog required emergency surgery. Please stay away from this place.

Went to this clinic with my cat. They diagnosed him with Asthma based on just listening to his lungs and prescribed Albuterol with special device to inhale which alone cost $150.00. The treatment just made my cat worth. I went to a different vet who did not see any wheezing but suspended infection, prescribed antibiotics and my cat feels much better now. I called Milford hospital to return not needed albuterol treatment, but they said that they can not take it back.

The care, compassion but most of all thorough nature is what I will miss most about taking my cats to see Dr. Dubenksy. He was a very focused man to the animals, and I appreciated that so much about him. Rich saved my 1 year old cats life and barely charged us for it. Not about the cost, but really just about the heart he had. I brought my cats in for a routine checkup with the new staff. It was nice enough. Though the doctor did not introduce herself until prompted, she was kind but did not seem as thorough as I wanted her to be. I was happy to see some old staff still around. For the price I paid I was not so satisfied, and let the girl who ran my card know. Though she just laughed/shrugged it off. I will be curious to know the Dr who will actually take over the practice will be, as the one I saw said she was just suppose to be there for a short time.

The new ownership is trying but it will take awhile to give the same service that was. The prices are relatively high for services, at least they seem high.

Can't say enough Good about this place!! Our Min Pinscher, Maxwell, needed immediate care ( seems to have suffered a "stroke") and when We called The Vet that We normally go to for care They said it would be about 2 weeks before Our dog could be seen. When We called Milford Animal Hospital, Their response was bring Him in tomorrow AM. As Our dog was 18+ years of age, and with the symptoms He was exhibiting, The Very Kind Vet felt as We did, that the kindest thing to do was to let Max go. The kindness shown by Everyone at Milford Animal Hospital was extraordinary and Max is in pain no longer. It is so Good to have such a Great Group of Animal Care Specialists right in Our Hometown!

Normally I love place. Even after I moved to the middletown area I went out of my way to go here because Richard Dubensky is by far one of the best veterinarians I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with for the past several years. Sadly, my most recent visit didn't occur as I had envisioned. When I arrived at Milford pet hospital there was a new doctor. Nice guy, seemed like he was trying his best to provide the best care possible.Butt... Dubensky and his belongings were nowhere to be found. It was at my dismay that I found out after I left the office that Richard passed away. No one at the office mentioned anything. Noone said nothing at all. I only found out because I googled his name trying to get more details. This really did not make me happy and I believe there was a better way to handle such a situation. Currently I am in the air on whether I will continue to go to this vet. I will give the new veterinarian a good chance because everyone deserves that. I understand minor adjustments under the circumstances. Once I go to this vet again I will update this review accordingly

Dr. Dubensky was the best vet I have ever known. The new team at Milford is nothing like Dr. D. and his staff. We won't be back.

I have used Milford Animal Hospital for 33 years and was shocked and saddened by the loss of Dr. Richard Dubensky. He was a truly kind and caring "frustrated farmer" his words. He always took the best care of my "pack", even my 135 lb. boy who tried to eat him at nearly every visit. I think pooch may have outweighed Doc! Now, the review. The vet who took over this wonderful practice will NEVER EVER SEE MY PETS AGAIN. I took my 14 week old puppy in for a simple stool check and new patient welcome visit. The new vet spent all of 20 SECONDS listening to his heart/lungs. That's it, done, over, not one more thing. Did not look in ears, eyes, mouth. NOTHING. The tech only wanted to get him on the "big boy scale". Ok, Ok, may I ask some questions first?? Should not have even bothered. Vet said "do what ever you want". It's been 30 years since out last "baby puppy". Several rescues over the years but all adults. When I questioned why he did not do even the very basic checks I was told it would "upset" the puppy. Ohhhhh Kaaaaa, so it's better to meet a puppy the first time when he/she needs a vaccination?? If necessary, sure, however, what a great opportunity missed. Puppy in just for a stool check, no shots, nothing shoved down the throat, nothing but a happy puppy who loves everyone and wants to meet and love everyone back. A HORRIABLE EXPERIANCE. Never Ever Again.

Doctor Dubensky was a compassionate, honest vet to our two Rotties, Luke and Junior for over 9 years. Throughout the years, we established a great relationship with Dr. Dubensky and his staff. When our dog Luke was sick with bone cancer Dr. Dubensky was honest with our family about his prognosis. He helped us provide quality care of life to our dog to the end. We will miss Dr. Dubensky very much and his passion for caring for animals. Dr. Dubensky was one of a kind! We pray he is resting in peace and happiness. Our condolences to his family and staff at Milford Animal Hospital.❤ Elena and Maurice Carvajal

Doctor Richard Dubinsky was an extraordinary Vet. A Cornell graduate with over thirty years experience, for many years he and his skilled staff took care of our collies with love and superb professional knowledge. He will be missed. May the good Doctor rest in peace.

Love the people who have worked here over the years. We had been bringing our fur babies to Dr. Dubensky for over 20 years and we hope that the people to whom he sold his practice will carry on with the extraordinary care of the patient (and the parents!) that was the hallmark of his career. So incredibly sad to find out that he has crossed his own Rainbow Bridge; certainly he will be greeted by all the animals he cared for that passed that way before him. Our deepest condolences to all who feel his loss.
