Gochenauer Kennels Lititz, Pennsylvania

We needed a place for our girls to stay while I was down at Johns Hopkins for brain surgery. Just about all I could think about were my dogs and how I missed them. They had a great experience. Our two Corgis loved it there. The one female had been a bit timid, dominated by the other. I was shocked when they brought them out on the leashes. They looked so good and had obviously been brushed and played with and the timid girl had come out of her shell! The facility was spotless, contrary to some other reviews. We love our girls very much and will have NO reservations letting them stay with Gochenauer Kennels in the future.

The last 2 times my dog has been there this year he came home with kennel cough both times. I understand it's a very contagious virus and spreads easily however I feel that better sanitation methods should be implemented considering that it seems to be an on going issue that's not getting better for many months. I will have to try another place next time.

Its so nice to have a great boarding kennel for my man Willie Nelson. Gochenauer is always accomodatimg and fair in price. The staff is great and my dog gets the best treatment as he should...hes Willie Nelson.

Can’t say enough about the staff and owner. They were beyond accommodating with our LONG term boarding situation. My dog is a rescue with some behavior problems and we never had the slightest problem or worry with Gochenauer Kenel.

First time there previously used VCA Hospital. Dog developed kennel cough two days after leaving.also charged $6 per treat that had pill inside 3 per day $162

I took my dog here for a few days while I was on vacation because our usual place didn’t have any availability. The first thing that I noticed is how stressed all of the dogs sounded, I couldn’t hear myself think. In our usual place you could hear a pin drop. I had gotten kennel cough warnings, which there is a risk anywhere you go so I didn’t think much of it until I picked him up. He had one of the worst cases of kennel cough I’ve ever seen. I have NEVER seen my dog so stressed. His throat was so sore and he hardly could bark so he was probably barking the entire time he was there. If I would’ve known it was going to be so bad I would’ve never left him there. Never again using anywhere other than our normal place.

Wouldn’t leave my pets anywhere else but here. The attention to pet care and safety cannot be beat. Clean, friendly, and knowledgeable.

I would never trust any other facility with the health and safety of my babies! The girls at the front desk are always kind and absolutely ADORE my boys. They always make a big deal out of seeing them :) they always come home clean and happy! My smallest aussie is a puppy mill rescue and is VERY wary of people. Even with his quirks the staff is patient and caring. They were just there in the beginning of August while I was on vacation. They were informative and up front about the strain of kennel cough circulating nationally that isn't covered by the current vaccine and explained their sanitization process thoroughly. Very grateful for the staff and their love of all of our babies!

Exceptional facility! This is the place to leave your pet if you’re in need of boarding services. Their grooming is top notch as well! The staff is always polite and friendly. The facility is always clean and cared for. My dogs always come home happy. In regards to the review left about barking dogs .. they’re dogs. They bark. So I’m not quite sure why that’s relevant. How would you stop them from barking exactly? ???? I think it’s a bit of stretch to say “you could hear a pin drop” at the normal facility. There must have been no dogs there! Even during the busiest days in the lobby there I haven’t heard the dogs.

We have been boarding with Gochenaure’s for years with our former and present dog Mr Waffels and our cats and know with confidence that our fur babies are greatly taken care of. Would recommend highly anyone who is researching to check them out! ????????

Took our dog there for boarding, and he came home with kennel cough. The sign on the door said please keep sick animals at home, so I thought he'd be ok. He wasn't. Noticed the cough as soon as we got home. How long was he coughing before we picked him up? Our vet said they knew where he was because they have had many patients come in that have stayed there all with kennel cough. They should be responsible and shut down for cleaning if it's that bad.

took two of our dogs to Gochanauer Kennels for a trial run overnight and they contracted severe kennel cough- our THIRD dog has the worst of it now. They’re all so sick- AND THEYRE FULLY VACCINATED . I called them to ask if they’re actually deep cleaning but they clearly knew there was a big outbreak going around. Surprised they didn’t get shut down for proper cleaning!! I didn’t even get a “sorry”. We’ve never experienced anything like this with any of our dogs in our lifetime.

Although our dog is fully vaccinated as required by the facility, we picked her up yesterday and she has contracted kennel cough. There is clearly an outbreak and the facility has NOT been cleaned properly. It would be ethical to tell customers that you currently have an outbreak rather than post signs telling customers to keep there dog home if they have kennel cough.

Said kennel cough is going around, when I went to drop off my dog. Picked him up after 3 days. Came home with kennel cough. My brother in law dropped off his dog there same time. Also came home with kennel cough. Point is, if they knew, and they had to know, kennel cough was rampant in their facility, they should not have accepted new boarders. So, my dog, and my brother in laws dog came home with kennel cough

We used the kennel for a week during our vacation. Upon picking him up, we noticed he came out of the kennel with somewhat of a cough. It was really noticeable during the car ride home. The staff did not mention to us at all he was showing signs of kennel cough nor did they call us when the symptoms appeared. It was really hard not to notice and no way they could not hear him sneezing and coughing if he was getting the attention we paid for him to have. His stay included walks and play time but even with him just laying there they would have heard it. I understand things like this can happen, however the lack of care provided to our dog and error in communication is very disturbing and unprofessional. We will not be using them in the future as we can not trust them to relay information pertaining to our dog.

Or dog Sabre, always seems happy to go back!

Quick and easy drop off

I was recommended to this kennel through a Facebook group for my children’s soccer team. I was told they were friendly and very professional by my friend Susan. None of that rang true when I walked into the door. Absolutely none of that. The workers were snappy and rude. My dog came back with a high fever. Absolutely, completely, 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. Do not come here if you want your dog to be healthy and happy. I’m worried his fever will spread to my sons Kyler and Brendyn…………

They are keeping our great pyrenees while we are staying in an airbnb until we close on our new home. They call as soon as they notice anything different and are so patient and understanding when I call so often. Our baby is an old guy and they notice everything. I feel very lucky to have found them.

They took good care of our dog twice now. A bit pricey when you add the "extras" to keep your pet from getting bored, like a walk or playtime, or even your own treats. Our dog seems to like it there so far though.

Our dog seemed to enjoy his stay. Staff was very professional and personable. We will return.

They are amazing. The only place I trust with our dogs. They treat them like family!
