We recently adopted a furkid from them. The process was thorough and done comfortably. We were given more than ample time to spend with our pup and get to know her. Everyone was more than willing to answer questions and to offer suggestions on care. We pick our furkid up tomorrow after spaying. A big thank you to all the employees and volunteers.

Lancaster SPCA unknowingly gave me a kitten with tapeworms. After this discovery I contacted them over the phone, they happily gave me two doses of unspecified dewormer. My kitten still suffers from worms. I contacted them again via email inquiring about more medication as it takes 3 or 4 doses but was denied. Worms are common and easily treatable however every veterinary clinic in the area seems to be full until next year. I cannot wait that long to receive treatment for my animal. Now I will have to take him to an animal ER and pay $95+ for Lancaster SPCA’s neglect.

Since the site Director likes to read reviews out loud in the middle of the lobby I would just like to inform everyone that Lindsay High the site director has absolutely no animal experience other than owning them. She belittles any client or employee that she sees as a threat. There is a wonderful pitbull by the name of Pete who just gets overstimulated, however no one including her and their self-proclaimed behaviorist wants to deal with him so he is currently sitting in a cage in the back of the building. He is not available for adoption because they don’t want to bother with him. Keep this in mind when adopting here and always remember that humane league has fewer dogs because they are more successful at adoptions, I recommend going there.

The staff was great and made our adoption painless and easy! Darwin is a great addition to our family and we are grateful for the opportunity to give him a home. Thanks LSPCA!

Our family member Yoda thought he was all grown decided he was going to leave home because he was all grown up he was on his own for about a week scared of lonely and tired and hungry and I know no one can approach him but somehow are heros at SPCA recovered him and took a picture of him at that moment and you should see how pathetic lonely and scared and he was and the fear that was in his eyes when he found out how big and bad world that is out there the one phone call and some pictures in a few days SPCA recovered him and returned him safely home to his family so maybe if you can't donate some money maybe some volunteers sometimes to help with the special care that they give these animals so from Grandpa and Grandma all the way down to the grandchildren the thorns thank you SPCA you are our heroes thank you kindly

Filled out adoption forms several times, and hear nothing,. The organization seems to be staffed by children with very little supervision, and with a select group of perspective people who get a chance to adopt. Wanted to do a rescue, but instead will probably deal with the Amish. At least they acknowledge your desire to adopt a dog.

So I am on the fence with them. I have taken lots of supplies for donations several times there . Never got a thank you or anythig from the girls. Just oh put it there hummm ok. Just took my dog to get neutered there they were very disorganized and all over the place for drop off and pick up! Kind of rude as well. As for the days you have the spay and neuter clinic You need to figure something out for the shot clinic maybe one a different day or what ever. It was over crowded and people were trying to hear about the after care and could not hear what was going on due to the adopting and shot clinic. my dog is suffering from an infection from the surgery. (Not happy)Can't speak to anyone directly just a messed up phone system. But very grateful they do find homes for pets.

They canceled an appointment for a neutering as I was pulling into their parking lot because a vet had not shown up for work. Why they couldn't call earlier, I don't know. They refused to put me back at the top of the waiting list. Once they reopened after the covid closure, I tried to make another appointment and was told all spots were filled until at least 2021, 3 months away. They may have the cheapest prices around, but they have zero customer service or compassion. Let's just say I couldn't keep my cat with it spraying all over the house and crying night and day. Edit: It seems I cannot reply to their response, so I'll just add this here. They've had 3 chances to discuss this with me personally and chose a form letter email each time instead. And I still have the voice mail they left about the vet not showing up for work, so either they lied to me then or they're lying on Google now. Either way, it just gives power to my original review. Which is why I knocked it down to one star.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful. Please note that they do not allow visitors into the kennel area to casually browse ("We want to give our pets as stress-free an environment as we can whole they're here) however potential adopters are given binders with information sheets inside from which pets may be selected for an in-person meet and greet.
