Their hours listed on Google said they were open on Thursday around 2pm. I rushed there with an injured cat and no one was there. Please update hours on Google - It could save lives.

We've been clients for almost 10 years now with services ranging from acupuncture and surgeries to routine visits. Dr. Blais demonstrates extraordinary experience unlike any where else I've seen.

I went in for a consultation for my dogs because we wanted a vets opinion on ear cropping. We've done a bit of research and asked around to see what pros and cons were. Our oldest has had ear infections and problems with them for a little while and that's what some people said would help. So we thought hey let's see if it's too late to get this guy some relief. For our smallest it was more of a cosmetic reason and maybe also a benefit to get hers done so no future issues with ear infections. So I get in there and they ask about my diet for the dogs and I tell them it's purina something. The vet immediately starts off with don't come in here wasting my time about getting ear crops because of ear infections. It's the food your feeding them. Well okay but you probably could have started off with hey I understand your looking into getting ear crops because you think it will stop the ear troubles? That will not be the case because it's most likely your food. Just the whole visit felt off and wasn't friendly at all. Some of the information they handed me in regards to food was good. But my thought is, is don't offer a service if you are gonna make people feel bad for utilizing. I understand I did research on the internet and it's not all true which is why I went for a vets word but you don't need to bite my head off for asking questions.

I will not be returning to this place. The staff does not wear masks unless you ask them to. The vet was very rude and condescending and really stressed my cat out. The price is ridiculous, for two cats to be seen with 3 medications prescribed was $280. I felt robbed and embarrassed when I left there.

This place is very nice. The people working are kind and are willing to do anything to help. They also have fair prices :)) As I was leaving the vet ,, my cat had escaped from the carrier. The people working there helped me get him from under someones car. I am extremely grateful for their help. I would 100 % recommend this vet place !!

The vet tech and receptionist were a treat. I was pleased that I was given an appointment on very short notice. And although my appointment started off great I did have some concerns. I had a lot of questions going into this appointment because my previous vet wasn’t very forthcoming with disclosing information. The tech seemed understanding but the vet himself was very condescending to my questions. At one point he insinuated that because of my unhealthy diet that reflected my pets weight. He specifically asked about my diet and was “surprised” by what I ate (it felt like a dig at my own weight and he asked when just him and I were in the room and it didn’t feel appropriate) My cat is a little overweight but to ask about my eating habits was very insulting. I also felt like he expected me to know everything he knew. He was visibly annoyed that I didn’t know the name of ear drops used for my pet- even though it was in the chart. And then he had to google one of the active ingredients. I am not a vet- just a mom looking out for her fur baby. It got to the point where I made eye contact with the vet tech with tears in my eyes because it felt like he kept drilling me. I am only giving this the amount of stars because they were informative and gave me clear instructions regarding the medicine. The receptionist and vet tech were great as well. They even called to check up on my pet which was appreciated.

Great vet! My dog, Bark, had a terrible skin issue. He was scratching and loosing hair where he was scratching. I called for an appointment and the receptionist was very kind and professional. At my appointment the staff and Dr. Blais were so compassionate, The information I received about Bark's condition and treatment was presented very clear to me. The treatment has cleared Bark's skin condition and I am so happy and I know Bark is. I am so grateful for the care Bark received and would recommend Blais Vet to everyone!

Staff very professional and extremely knowledgeable as well as empathetic and supportive. Dr Blais practices both Eastern and Western veterinary medicine which attracted me to his practice initially. As a medical professional myself, I only want the best for my fur babies and I have found that care at Blais Veterinary Hospital.

Oh my! The secretary and tech were great but...the doctor!!! Literally drooled on my cat and spat on me when he spoke. I couldn't understand him. My cat had blood dripping from his ear, Instead of cleaning it up, he drug my cat carrier through it. I was appauled when I left. He was weird and awkward. I will never go back! And it was insanely expensive!

Donna Smith Dr. Blais & staff did an excellent job in taking care of our Tess, when we thought she was dying. She needed some teeth pulled, some Body Sore for her aches & pain & now she's doing great! Like a younger dog again. Thank you all from Tess!

This that is absolutely great. They care more about the well being of your pet than making a dollar and that says something. Would recommend them to anybody I know.

I had originally looked for a new vet once I moved to a new part of town. This place had decent reviews so I gave it a try. I called to see if I could bring in my dog and cat together, the receptionist was more than accommodating and they got us in that week. Our first visit, I couldn't help but notice the building smelled strongly of cigarettes but I looked past it and continued with our appointment. The receptionist and vet tech were extremely friendly and nice to my animals. The room we were in didnt seem to be the cleanest which I was a bit turned off by. I think the building itself is older and could be updated and cleaned better. As I wasnt impressed with our first visit, we returned for check ups and 2nd round of lyme shots. Our 3rd and FINAL visit was because Dr.Blais was not very friendly to me or my animals, showed impatience, handled my dog roughly, came off condescending. I asked that they clipped my dogs nails. She is a black mouth cur/ lab mix. She has black nails which I know need to be clipped carefully since you can't see how far back to go. Dr.Blais grabbed her paws and just pulled them every which way in a rough manner, and started clipping in no particular way. The first clip hurt her and made her bleed. She is 64lbs and flinched back and fell half way off the table. She was shaking, upset, and even whimpered. I really should've stopped them and said forget it. He continued to clip her nails and wasn't gentle AT ALL. Two more of her nails got clipped incorrectly and there was blood on the table and on the floor. I was livid that a professional did this to my dog. It should be a simple task. Dr.Blais left the room without saying goodbye. I went to check out where they originally wanted to charge over $250 for our visit. $35 to clip my dogs nails incorrectly and cause them to bleed. The receptionist deducted the "pedicure" from my bill and I literally left in tears. I later discovered I was charged for an ear cleaning to my cat that they never did. The vet technician called to check in a couple days after, knowing we had a horrible experience and did apologize. I expressed that her concern was appreciated but I had 1 more complaint of being charged for the ear cleaning which we didnt get. The receptionist was more than helpful and accommodating and had actually refunded our entire visit cost of $218. As much as I appreciate my full amount back, I unfortunately can't take my animals back there or ever recommend them to anyone. Thank you to the vet technician and receptionist for showing care and concern to me and my animals, unfortunately I did not receive the same from Dr.Blais.

I am new to the Indiana area and gave Blais Vet a call when my cat Fluffy wasn’t doing well. Dr. Blais and his staff treated my cat Fluffy with care and compassion. I was so stressed because Fluffy is such a big part of our family and was fearful the move was too much. Fluffy is 12 years old. The tech called me to see how Fluffy was doing. And I was so happy to tell her, Fluffy was back to his old self. Very grateful! He is playing again! Would highly recommend!

I called to make an appointment this morning at about 10~ish, and had an appointment at 12:30. I was pleasantly surprised, as my dog Patches and I were 'new patients'. Everyone was wonderful, professional, and Dr Blais gave Patches who is around 18 years old a very thorough but gentle exam, as we discovered, that she has back issues, and some dental issues that need to be addressed. He was very knowledgeable, and answered all my questions and concerns, and discussed treatment options. I never felt 'rushed', which was very nice and appreciated. All in all, I was very happy with the care that my dog received, and I felt the prices were in line with the services received. Patches is having some bloodwork done to make sure everything is OK for her dental surgery next week, and I got a bottle of supplements to help with her aches and pains. She's now passed out on the back of the couch after her 'big adventure' today. UPDATE: Patches had her dental sx on Thursday, and it ended up being a little (lot) more involved than anticipated. But everything went really well, and once again, I was quite impressed and pleased with the care that Patches received, and I also appreciated that Susan kept me 'in the loop' with what was going on. When I went to pick her up, Susan was very thorough in explaining the procedures done complete with pictures, and went over the aftercare with me. The whole staff is wonderful, and I just would like to thank Dr. Blais *again* for being so caring about my dog. As an added note, I would like to add that even though Patches has been on her Body Sore supplement for a week now, and has had some major dental surgery, I still have noticed a difference in her activity level, and I'm thinking once she heals from her sx, she can't help but feel even better. As to the cost, my personal opinion is that you simply cannot put a dollar value on the kind of love, loyalty and companionship you get from a dog. Just seeing how much better she feels makes it more than worthwhile. Here she is being all smiley because I'm making some home-cooked food for her.

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Blais for nine years now, with the exception of two years due to the passing of my cats. Dr. Blais is constantly taking classes and receiving degrees to keep up with the medical changes/updates which makes me feel secure in knowing he will know what is wrong with my pet and fix it quickly. Dr. Blais suggested that my cat have radiation treatment for his thyroid. It had to be done in Pittsburgh and was of no monetary benefit to him, his only concern was with the health of my pet. Fred (my cat) had the treatment and lived another three 1/2 years very healthy. Weather it is just a check up or an illness Dr. Blais and his staff are very professional and friendly. When Dr. Blais had to put down my cats the compassion he and the entire office staff showed was very heartwarming. I now have two cats and although my new babies may not like the Vet I surly do. I know they will have the best of care throughout their entire lives. Thank you Dr. Blais and your entire staff. Marge Patz has new Cats!!!!!

I read a bad review of Doug's business and couldn't believe it was a real review. For one thing in years of knowing Doug and using him for our Bouvier kennel (closed a decade ago) and treating my service dogs - Great Danes, I've never seen a dog running outside. I can't believe he would ever let a dog out off leash. I also can't believe one of his dogs was scruffy. He has only had two breeds in the decades I knew him, greyhound and in recent years only Irish wolfhounds. You simply don't let an Irish run outside near a highway, although their coats can look a bit scruffy in perfect condition. On the medical side his staff were always courteous and handled dogs well. He has also shown to me that he keeps up to date on changes and new developments - I know because I am a science reporter myself, and besides having owned 25 dogs (many of which he treated) I also write books about animals including Everywhere I turn There's a Wet Nose, about the science of canines. I can't imagine a more professional or experienced doctor for my dogs.

We absolutely love taking our mini long-haired dachshund, Bruno, to Dr. Blais! The staff is always so friendly and answers any questions that I have. Additionally, we never had to wait more than 2 minutes in the waiting room. They are very speedy to see their clients. They also shower your pup with dried liver treats! Bruno loves getting his treats at Docs. We refuse to take Bruno anywhere else. In fact, we moved to Pittsburgh and travel back to the area just so Bruno can see his Dr. Blais! One last note, for the people who are finding Dr. Blais offensive by giving your dog a silly nickname are absurd! He calls Bruno, Killer, and hes a small dachshund. Dr. Blais just tries to be personable and make you chuckle. I never took offense to him calling him Killer. People need to find a sense of humor!
