This place houses the most miserable and rude employees I’ve ever encountered at any sort of health clinic.

Great vet. They truely care about the animals.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Staff is not professional when you can get ahold of someone. Very rude. Wouldn't trust my animals with them.

I have a small grooming Studio, O'Hamill's Animals Grooming Studio in the Hbg area and have been looking for a veterinarian who is personable, wise and of for reputation. I first met Dr. Guise who I called to spay and to repair a large hernia on my 5 year old Chihuahua/Yorkie. He personally came out to my vehicle within 5 minutes. There was no waiting for 45 minutes. He was very clear, listened very well to my concerns and personally took care of my pup for the two days she was hospitalized. He would not let her go home until he fellt she was clear of any danger. He also took her for a walk later at nite after he was finished working with the horses at the track. He called me at 11:30 at nite at my wish. Took photos of her surgery and showed me her enlarged uterus in a pan showing me the appropriate size her uterus should have been vs what actual size it was. I have all wonderful things to say about him and his staff. I now have taken my 10 year olds sheltie to him and we are divising a care plan for her. Dr and staff A+++. Visit for a sick relatives dog. They were through in the exam while keeping the dog at ease.

Rude doctor. Don't carry easy-to-apply antibiotics or pain meds

Dr.Guise really has a way with animals. My cat was happy and purring on their table during our whole exam. They use diffusers in their exam rooms to keep animals calm and happy. They've been very accommodating, kind, and understanding. He suggested lifestyle changes, like suggesting food brands and flea/tick treatments- they're not all the same! I was treating my cat with a brand he didn't recommend and he found immature fleas in her fur I hadn't seen or found. So glad he takes the time he does to do such a through exam, catching things even with treatment and bathing that I hadn't found. Excellent practice I will suggest to anyone within Harrisburg!

This is my best friend and I want the best care from people who care for my buddy like he was their own. That's exactly what I get from lockwillow Avenue animal Clinic. Thank you.

They love it dogs and treated them with compassion and concern. The building is wearing but the vets heart makes up for it.

Cant say how thankful I am to the management and staff everyone's warm and friendly and they take excellent care of my boys. The place is always clean and tidy and the Dr gives the boys one on one attention. Thank you Dr G.

Dr. Guise and Natalie are awesome, as are their staff. I don't know where Courtney Kangaroo took her pet to, but it definitely wasn't here. I have known Dr. Guise and his wife for over 35 years. What was said it her review, would've NEVER happened here. I wouldn't trust taking my animals anywhere else, but here.

Love this place. Wish I had switched to this vet clinic a long time ago.

We took 3 dogs there over the years & were always pleased with Dr Guise! Two basset hounds, Greta & Ruby and our dachshund Peabody all had excellent care.

I have a kennel of beagles and Dr. Guise treats all my hounds very well. He understands hunting dogs and treats them as the athletes they are. He gives an honest assessment of when you can continue to run the dog and when the dog needs to take a break and for how long. My kennel has been using Dr. Guise for decades from birthing puppies to 16 year old hounds at end of stage life, Dr. Guise always solves the problem in an economical fashion.

Stopped in on behalf of Lap of Love. I was greeted by Stacey, who was super friendly and nice and was great to my dog, who was along for the ride. #lapofloveveterinaryhospice

Excellent vet and staff. So kind and knowledgeable. Fit us in an hour after I called. Will definitely be our new go to vet!

Great pet care and wonderful staff

I take both my cat and my dog to Lockwillow Animal Clinic. The staff is wonderful and friendly, and Mark is great with my animals. I would highly recommend this clinic for both cat and dog parents.

I've been going here for years and was never really crazy about it. But it's local and all my records were in place so I stayed...until recently. This place is over priced and under skilled. I took my pet in 2 weeks ago with what was diagnosed as a uti. Fast forward 2 weeks and I take my fur baby back in who is very sick. The "Dr" told me it was an emergency situation and my kitten wouldn't survive without emergency treatment. However, he couldn't treat him because he was going out of town. He suggested I take him to an emergency clinic. When I got upset because they are so expensive he told me "maybe you should have considered pet insurance". How compassionate right? I now have a $3000 estimate to save my 5 month old fur baby. AND to top it off after taking over $100 from me last week to misdiagnose my pet he had the audacity to charge me for the 2nd visit after he did nothing to help my pet in the first place.

Best vet ever! Been with them for decades. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Very unwarranted. I would NEVER go anywhere else .

I really don't know what you're trying to prove with such a horrible review, but I have taken ALL of my pets to this vet for over 40 years and NEVER have I experienced what you are referring to. Dr. Guise and the staff are awesome and very caring with the animals. They would never do any of those awful things you said. So stop with your hateful lies, because that's what they are...lies! Please, anyone who reads this person's review, don't believe a single word of it. These allegations are so untrue it's laughable. I think as a person who's been dealing with this animal clinic for over 40 years I should know what I'm talking about more than this "Courtney Kangaroo" person. Thank you Dr. Guise and staff for all you've done for me and my pets over the years. You guys rock!

Very nice staff. Dr. Mark is reasonably priced and gives practical advice for the care of my dog.

Never take you animal to this vet!!!! I took my dog to this place when was in need for medical attention, my dog is very friendly but frightful at the Vet. This man (whom I wish I had the name of so I could report him) was arrogant from the start and was not friendly at all. Their staff isn't properly trained to handle a dog that is terrified of the vet. They held my dog down while he was squealing(loud noises I've never heard him make) all while he was peeing himself and his anal glands had released out of fear. I've never worked at a vet, but I am sure that once a dog is in that much stress the staff and vet should back off so the animal can calm down. Once the vet was fed up with my dogs frightened attempts to flee, he pushed my dog off the table and onto the floor where he landed on his side, to make matters worse they flung the door open with no attempt to hand me the leash, letting my dog run out and into the waiting room where the front door could have very well been open and he could have gotten hit by a car. I also know someone who worked at the same place for not even a year and this person quit after seeing how badly this cocky vet treated his staff and the animals. She said he grabbed a cat around the neck (not that back) and chocked it in front of the owner because it was clawing him. She also said he had very violent fits that resulted in things being thrown around and animals being hit, while their owners were out of view. I wish I could say I was making this up because this place needs to be checked into by the police and animal control.

We have been going here for years, I trust no one with my precious babies more than I do Dr. Guise. he super excellent. I would recommend him to anyone.
